About Dr. Mendonsa, Director and primary service provider: I am the founder, director and primary service provider of Brighter Hope Psychological Services in Sacramento, CA. I completed my American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, Sacramento/Fresno. I completed my predoctoral internship California State University, Sacramento college counseling center and my postdoctoral fellowship at UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. My training concentrations have been around adult, adolescent and child treatment as well as assessment and comprehensive psychological evaluation of a wide variety of populations. I am well versed in the treatment of a variety of populations including mandated, forensic, child protective services, GLBT and college-aged populations. In addition to maintaining my practice, I work for the California Department of Mental Health within the California Prison System conducting treatment and psychological and forensic evaluations. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, social sciences and general education at several local colleges, I am involved with various local governments’ mental health systems and serve on a variety of boards and commissions. I work closely with several non-profit organizations and remain involved in my community.
