Initial contact after purchase of a special $125 for 2 hours of needed in writing. Once the day and time were set was asked to change the time to 5 hours later, changed my plans again to accommodate their schedule. Did give me 4 days advance warning of schedule change. On the day the work was to be done they were running late and asked again what I would like done and I reminded them. They had to stop on the way to the house to get supplies but didn't get all that was needed. I was charged for the time they shopped for the items and once they came to the house, there was very little they could do so they replaced a tub spout and then said they'd have to come back but they could spend a few minutes doing any other jobs I might need. So I had them tighten up loose doorknobs and asked for some bathroom fixtures to be tightened, they did one but not the other. We then started negotiations for how much more I would need to spend to get the work done I had originally requested. Was told it would be $200 more (which was for replacement equipment), plus another fee for the truck to come back, plus an additional $55/hour for the work. They generously offered to honor one hour of the original price, making sure they knew I was getting a deal from their original price of $65/hour. I still needed the work done so I reluctantly set up another appointment, for later the next month. I made arrangements in my calendar to be home when the appointment was set up three weeks in advance. Found out 4 days before the appointment that this would no longer work in their schedule as they had an important appointment and would be unavailable until at least 4 hours after the time scheduled. To me as a customer I had rearranged my schedule to make sure I was home again, and found later that it was a family conflict that kept them from being able to keep the original time. I understand family commitments and would have appreciated knowing that it was a family issue and not "an important appointment" that caused the cancellation of my appointment. I was made to believe there was another job that trumped mine.
So I asked for a refund of the hour I was still owed and was reminded that I still owed them $25 for the tub spout. I will be getting a credit of $30 and all I got for my $125 investment was a new tub spout and the opportunity to discover a company that I could never recommend.
I will use him again if I need work done
