"We purchased an Angie's List deal for furnace cleaning. The technician cleaned the furnace and discussed our static filter and how we could use regular filters" which would be more effective. We had heard this before and he offered to measure the size for me. He advised to get a 20x25x5 or x4. I got the filters and they were the wrong size due to the rails for the static filters. No big deal, we bought a x4.

"My inspection was performed by the owner of the company. He was right on time and performed a very thorough inspection of the fireplace in my new home. Since I" had just purchased the home, I wanted the fireplace inspected by a certified professional before lighting it for the first time. After his inspection, he recommended a new cap to prevent animals and rain from penetrating, and he suggested that I replace the interior components of the fireplace as well since they were old and showing their wear. We went over models and prices, and i checked his prices against the internet. His prices were SLIGHTLY higher than what I could find online, but he pointed out that his prices include installation. Also, his logs were hand painted and of higher quality than what was available online. Knowing what I know now, I would HIGHLY recommend having this company install your new logs rather than doing it yourself. Their installer arrived with a complete setup to remove the old and install the new. Everything is removed down to the brick, a new gas line and grate are installed, and the logs are installed after the brick is vacuumed and brushed clean. My installer moved very efficiently, and it still took him two solid hours to complete the job. I honestly had no idea how labor intensive this install would be. Also, the manner in the logs and grate are installed matter. The final result that the installer achieved was far superior to anything I might have pulled off. I wound off with an elegant fireplace with new gas lines and a properly capped top. Basically this is a highly skilled, honest company.

Chimney Sweeping reviews in Redlands

Everything as expected except for proper replacement of the flue lever which was removed for the cleaning and inspection, with no evident note as to why it wasn't left in working order. It's a very old chimney with several problems due entirely to age, so it may have been unavoidable to disassemble the parts, but we had to return the lever to proper working order ourselves. I have no real complaints and I would use them again if I found their estimates to be competitive with other quotes. Still, it's a point to note.

We bought the Angies List special deal and scheduled the appointment. The man arrived on time, cleaned the chimney and left within about an hour. No deficiencies were noted which was good because we weren't sure how long it had been since the last time anyone has cleaned the chimney.

They did and charged $179.95 for the sweep and evaluation and $75 for installing the cap. We paid for the service and received a report from them that the chimney is a fire hazard (as per NFPA 211) and recommended a major repair for $3,662. I then obtained two more names from Angie's List and asked these two companies just evaluate whether the fireplace is ok to use and if not, what would they suggest to fix the problem. Both companies came back with exactly the same answer that there is no problem with the chimney. Quite puzzling!!

He was on time, very polite, professional, and I would use him again. He offered suggestions to improve the looks of the fireplace, but he did so without being "pushy". When I said I would think about it, he accepted my response. His suggestions were given as just that- not someone who was trying to get me to buy more than I needed. I felt he was honest and reliable.

Every year birds come and nest inside the chimney, they make a raucous noise and create a health hazard with their debris.

installed a chimney cap to prevent them from coming in, cleaned the chimney thoroughly, removed about 5 lbs of bird debris. He was very detailed and thorough.
He cleaned the dryer vent. The vent was designed at an angle so to do a thorough job, it had to be done from inside and outside. He did a very good job.
We highly recommend him.

Things did not go well. The two folks that showed up to my house seemed much more interested in seeing what other work they could sell me rather than doing the work I hired them to do. They weren't two steps into my house and they were telling me I needed a new damper cap and crown cap repairs. When asked how they could be making such assessment with even examining system and particularly without going on the roof, I was given a non-answer. A short time later one of the techs responded that he had binoculars in the truck and he saw it coming up the drive way.
After 10 minutes of telling me everything wrong with my fireplace, I made it clear the only thing I was interested in was a proper cleaning of the flue. At this point the lead guy got out his pad and began to write up all his "observations" . The number two guy was then left to sweep the flue. It is not clear that my flue was ever even properly swept. The number one guy had to give a lot instruction to his helper and at one point told me he was in training. In my opinion the only proper way to clean and examine a chimney is from the top and the bottom. Zero time was spent at the top of my chimney. I am skeptical that much of any cleaning actually happen and all I got for my money was a $2000 estimate to fix all the "problems" with my chimney.
Steer clear of these guys.

Arrived right on time and got right to work. The job was done in a very timely manor and he did an excellent job of clean up after he was finished. He explained what repairs needed to be done and said we would receive a quote from the company by email within 3 days. I believe we actually received the quote in 2 days. We were very pleased with the whole process. I would not hesitate to use

and Masonry in the future. They are very professional and the he young man who did the work was very polite. In all the years we have lived in this house I don't believe our chimney has ever been as clean as it is now!

It was a great experience. He arrived on time, did the work and cleaned up after himself. He was fast, efficient and the work was done perfectly.
