"I needed a tree removed fairly urgently so that fence construction could continue. Not only was Ed's price reasonable in terms of other quotes but they were" able to send a crew a few hours later and quickly take it out, including grinding out the stump.

"The tree trimming entailed using a hydraulic lift platform. The platform has tires and self powered, so it was moved into place w/o damage to my lawn. Walker's" used ropes to catch the trimmed branches and lower them (slowly) to the ground. They moved all the trimmed pieces to a wood chipper and cleaned up the sawdust where it clumped. Walker's Tree Trimming did an excellent job.

4 Situations Where You Need a Professional Tree Trimmer

Not sure if you should trim your own trees? Sometimes your tree problem is best left to a pro whose is trained in maintenance and other complex issues.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Great job, would use again. The hardest part of this was the scheduling. From getting the initial date 2+ weeks out, to equipment failures and lack of communication on cancellation, to rescheduling, to getting rained out, it took 47 days to get this done. I never did get a confirmation of the rescheduled date, so I was a bit surprised when my doorbell rang at 0800. Fortunately, I could rearrange my schedule to be home while they worked. (I do recognize that summer is the busiest time for tree services, and some of these delays are to be expected when you try to schedule this kind of work in the summer).
With that one qualification, they did an excellent job. Their arborist worked with me before the day to walk the property and build a punch list. He confirmed that my scope of work could be done in the hours allotted, and suggested a priority of work to get it all done. In all, the team performed the following:
Major trimming of 4 50-year-old trees (three live oaks, one pecan) Minor trimming of 2 50-year-old trees (pines) Removal of one 20-year-old ornamental pear Minor trimming of smaller shrubs The team completed the entire project in the time allotted, including a sparkling clean-up job and chipping/removal of all debris. They did a wonderful job. The oaks in particular now are strikingly beautiful (and less likely to sustain wind damage). I would happily use

's team gave my yard a complete make over. I am incredibly happy with the work they did. I requested quotes from 4 tree services. 2 never called me back and 1 showed up unannounced.
Porterville Tree Services Provider Name Locked
arrived right on time for the estimate, listened to what I wanted done and delivered. He gave me the contact information for his insurance and he worked around my schedule for the service date. The team arrived on time, they were incredibly efficient, friendly and left the yard spotless. The price was very reasonable for all the work they did. My neighbors are really impressed too! I will definitely use

I called today (late afternoon) to see if someone could come out tomorrow to give me a consult on my backyard trees and
Porterville Tree Services Provider Name Locked
answered my call. I explained that two of our fairly large trees were not looking well and I needed some advice. I believe he was most likely just getting into his truck after working all day from the sound of it.....woman's intuition ;) but he kindly said he'd give me a supposition of our trees condition if I sent him pictures right then and there and would call me back! I grabbed my phone and did just that! Well, talk about thorough and caring! I had sent him about 8 or so pictures from different

and

went over each one with me in detail. He asked when we first saw the trees were in trouble and what may have

gave me great instructions on what to buy and what to do over the next week or so. I Love Trees! I'm so sad that our landscapers way over trimmed our trees and then, immediately following that episode our sprinkler system went haywire going from flooding and not shutting off to not turning on at all while we were on vacation!! End result ....dead and dying trees! I think
Porterville Tree Services Provider Name Locked
went above and beyond with trying to help me and I will be calling him from now on for all of our tree trimming and feeding! I wanted to give this "A" review because I've never had such a great and professional experience!!! Just wish I could have given him a "AAAAA" rating! THANKS

Considering I used them before at a reasonable price, current estimate to remove 1 dead and one dying tree was $2,400. It is outrageous. I got it done by another company for $1,240. They were done in under 3.5 hours (5 person crew) and did not act like they are all-and-be-all.

, the owner and main "surgeon" on tree trimming was very thorough and professional in giving me an honest appraisal of what work needed to be done. This was an extremely tricky job because of the close proximity of my Oak tree to my neighbor and electrical lines that were in the way. I was very concerned about branches landing on my roof, as a previous company on a earlier job just let branches fall, and ended up doing damage to my slate roof. I had more than a couple of dead branch "widow makers" on this huge oak and I was fearful it might fall and injure or

On the day of the job,
Porterville Tree Services Provider Name Locked
had 7 men and several specialized trucks, They were all very professional and took their work seriously. Not as much as a leaf fell onto either home. I was amazed at the skills used in handling this project. In addition, I felt the price to be very fair for this kind of work. You really have to know what you are doing, or the results could be disastrous. Needless to say, I would never hesitate in using them again.

and his team was great! They arrived on time and removed about 12 trees and stumps. HIs pricing was great and the crew cleaned up very well. Only complaints that I have is that when the truck came in the backyard it ran over 3 sprinkler heads that I noticed the next day. Also I asked him to remove the

fencing when they came (it was originally our responsibility) It couldn't get put back together 100% as before beause the truck hit a post upon leaving with a set of logs. With those issues aside
