has had the best price each time we've called around for a refill, $2.45 per
2014. They also have no problem doing delivery on demand instead of a monthly top off.

Called
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
's office early in morning - told them I had no hot water. Hot water heater is of indeterminate age so I figured I would need a new one, NO NO NO shortly after the call they showed up and did a few magic things and the old tank was up and runniing.

Was not going to bother with a review but a reminder from Angie's list to rate as they deserved prompted me to finish the review. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
. Service had been outstanding with MainGas in Ossipee, but once Suburban purchased them we experienced dramatic price increases and missed delivery requests. The over the phone suggestion to turn the heat down rather than make a weekend delivery was the reason we fired them and changed our propane service provider.

They were supposed to install a satellite monitoring system so I would never run out but that never happened. They assured me that I still would never run out because they would check on it frequently. I have run out several times which is a real problem. They're usually out here pretty quick and I just try to keep up with the level myself. I would not have used them had I Known what I know now.

When we purchased our new home, and due to the instability of the electric utilities in the area during bad weather, we decided to have a whole house generator installed. Since our house was already equipped with an underground 500
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
propane tank to
fuel our cooking and heating we chose to purchase a generator that used propane gas rather than mess with gasoline.
A year after the installation of our generator, we felt that an additional 500
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
tank would provide both additional fuel in the event of a long power outage, plus more flexibility in waiting for the best price per
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
when refilling the tanks. With the
capacity of 1,000 gallons, it would be less likely that we would be in a panic situation to get a refill; and with the wild price swings I have seen in propane pricing, we could be more patient and wait for the best price.
After receiving quotes from
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
as well as one of the very large local propane distributors, I decided to go with
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
for the installation of the additional tank.
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
’s pricing was fair. Another deciding factor was a bad experience I had with the large local distributor when we first moved into our home. The large distributor quoted us a good price per
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
, I had the tank filled and the bill arrived with a much higher price. I called the supplier several times but the person who provided me with the original quote would not return my calls. After a lot of work on my part, the company president corrected the situation. As far as
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
, any time I have received a quote, there were never any issue with their bills.
Regarding the actual tank installation, I was concerned about the placement of the tank and any excess dirt.
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
, the gentleman who operates the backhoe during the digging, made a personal trip to my home to put my mind at ease regarding the dig and placement of the tank. In the end,
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
did an excellent job of digging, placement and covering the tank.

and

worked to make sure that I was satisfied with the final results of the project. I now have two 500

tanks that

connected together so that they work in tandem in supplying both our home and generator with fuel.
It was a pleasure working with everyone from

He came out and installed a new gas valve for my house. We were having an issue with the propane pressure staying constant on a appliance we have. Brain came out and installed a new valve and everything has been working as it should now. They are very professional and they care about their customers. Every time I have a question or issue with anything at my property involving gas, when I call them they are always very polite and they handle the situation almost immediately. It is nice to deal with a local company that cares about you and your service. I recommend them without hesitation. You will not be disappointed.

I built my house in 2005 and we installed a propane assisted heating system. I picked
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
for the sole reason that I had seen their trucks in the area. The system works well however every year my propane service has been a nightmare. The first year I was in the house
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
sent my first few bills to the wrong address. Having never seen the bill I did not pay it. We were away for a few days and they came and shut off the gas. When we came home to a cold house as it was winter I made the call and was told our gas was shut off for not paying the bill. They never called just came and shut off the gas. When we finally sorted out that they had sent the bill to the wrong address they wanted to charge us $200.00 to come out and light the pilot lights and “re install” service. That was a good fight. The years that followed have been an annual adversarial relationship.
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
has the worst customer service I have ever seen. There is absolutely no customer loyalty whatsoever and ALL customers need to watch their bills for increases and
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
charges. I always feel as though I am being “ripped off”. In 2013 I was on a budget plan paying $145.00 a month at a locked in price of $2.49. That was last year’s fight and if I had not done so I would have been charged an additional 50% per
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
. This year my first monthly bill was $220 as opposed to the $145. When I went to
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
to find out why it had increased it was the same fight as last year and I was told that they will take a look and attempt to adjust the amount. Basically if I didn’t complain I would have gotten ripped off again as the price per
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
jumped from $2.49 to $3.54 and I was never informed even though I pay for the Ameri Guard program which is supposed to be a locked in annual lower price per
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
. I am so sick of the annual fight with Amirgases shameless attempt to steel from me that I am having a geothermal contractor come out and give me an estimate. I am also looking at purchasing my own tank. A glorious day will see Amerigases propane tank out of the ground and loaded on a truck heading away from my home. By far one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.

Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
Gas was the propane provider when we bought the house. We'd been using them for 7 months while researching and deciding whether to switch to natural gas or remain with propane. We decided to stay with propane.
I called
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
Gas to get all the information about their service and pricing. Then, on the suggestion of my neighbor, I called
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
at
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
on his cellphone to get their information. He immediately answered the phone, and answered all my questions. It was immediately apparent, from a cost perspective if nothing else, that they were a better deal/company.
They don't charge a fuel surcharge like others, and their price-per-
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
for the first year is $1.14 less than what we're currently paying, and about $1.00 less than the competition for current customers who have been with them for more than a year. Their charge is based on $1.20 over their refinery costs. Other companies charge based on your zip code.
And there's was no delivery charge.
So, I talked it over with my girlfriend and we called
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
back and told him we would switch services. Even though he was on the road heading to deal with a health issue involving his dad,
Phelan Propane Dealers Provider Name Locked
immediately called his office, and I got a call about 5 minutes later from the office to schedule the swap-out.
The crew arrived on time the next morning. Unfortunate for them, our tank is located in a difficult to get to part of the property. So, for the next three hours they busted their humps building a skid, man-handling the existing tank out of the way, and getting theirs in place. They were nice enough to go to the trouble of moving the competitor's tank next to the driveway to make it easier for the competitor to pick-up the tank. How nice was that!!!!
After they got the new tank installed, partially filled and leak tested, they restarted the two water heaters. Which work fine.
I tried to tip them for all the hard work and going above and beyond, but they flat refused to take the money and said they get paid well to do what they do and enjoy doing it. I don't think I've ever had that happen before (where a work crew refused a tip.)
So, we're very pleased with how everything went and would highly recommend them to our neighbors or others.
