"
showed up right on time, made an accurate assessment of what the problem was and cleaned and serviced the fireplace. His is a very honest" person and his price was more than reasonable.

"He responded very quickly - we talked first on a Tuesday, and he came out on Saturday. He was totally wonderful in his manner and attitude, and did not mind me watching" him work and asking questions. He was very thorough when he worked on the fireplace, and we had had some questions about the fan which had been getting very noisy. After he cleaned fireplace very thoroughly, he checked out the fan, and he said the fan needed replacing. Then he asked if we had cats, so I told that until a year ago we had had three, but we only have two right now. I told him they tend to sleep in front of the fireplace! He told me that very often cat hair gets pulled into the fan, and this causes it seize up. He had to order a fan, but he said that he would be out the next Tuesday to install it. So, he did that too. Plus, he guarantees his work for a year, so I only have to call him if we experience any problems. I would recommend him very highly.

Fireplaces

Most people enjoy sitting in front of a fire on a cold day, but traditional, wood-burning fireplaces come with a few disadvantages. They tend to waste energy, require maintenance and pose some risk. Read this guide to discover several alternatives that provide the same ambiance, but with fewer downsides.

Dear Angie: How much can I expect to pay to have my wood fireplace converted to gas? Our house is about 30 years old. The bottom of the fireplace looks like it's easily accessed through the basement. The conversion would involve running 30 to 50 feet of gas line. — Thomas M., Cincinnati, Ohio

He hasn't legally abandoned the job as long as he is still showing up and doing something, even if it is very little, from time to time.  You'll have to fire him first.  Have documentation that the job is not being done in a timely manner, showing when he has and has not worked.  Be ready for a fight and probably a legal battle since he will likely still want more money or won't refund money paid for incomplete work.

Change the locks and inform the contractor their services on your property are terminated.  Tell him if anyone representing his company enters your property they will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted.  Then hire another company to check the work he has done to make sure it is right.  Somehow I doubt it is given the nature of his work ethic.  Then have the new contractor repair any bad workmanship and finish the job.  Keep records as any documented things that have to be redone will help your case against the first contractor.

I would recommend finding a good hearth retailer in your area and work with them to select a stove that is right for your home. They should also be able to arrange for certified installer to handle the installation. Keep in mind many areas require a city or county permit for the installation, and it may be wise to have the chimney and fireplace inspected by a certified chimney sweep beforehand.

took the gas fireplace apart and cleaned each piece thoroughly. He then cleaned the glass insert and screen so that they were pristine. I had never used the fireplace so he was patient in demonstrating to us how to operate the system. He was polite, professional and took his time. We will definitely use

again.

Called to the South Hills location to inquire about a gas fireplace insert I saw on their website. I didn't even get far enough to tell him which insert I was looking at. I explained that the previous owners of our house had started the project, so there was a gas line in place, a direct vent to the outside installed, and electric to hook up the blower along with a switch. He asked multiple times about a chimney and at one point asked about wood. I know he is the professional, but I can't help but wonder if he was even paying any attention to me. I again said there was a GAS LINE in place and DIRECT VENT to the outside so there is no chimney or wood. He must have known he was sounding questionable at that point because he then told me he needed to know the manufacturer of the vent. The galvanized aluminum duct work that goes through the wall? You can get that anywhere, I'm not sure where that plays into anything. I started to realize he thought I was telling him the entire venting system was in place, not just the vent from inside to outside, but by the time I could explain that to him, he became extremely rude and said, and I quote, "I don't care what you do, it's your house, you can burn it down if you want to." As the professional, he should learn to be more clear about what he is asking. I am positive I explained everything to him correctly as I had already spoken with another company and got a quote based on the same information I provided to him (along with measurements). I didn't get far enough to give him measurements because after his comment, I would never patronize this business, even if they gave me the best quote.
If he felt I was not answering his questions correctly, there was an entirely different way he could have gone about saying so!!!
I would be happy to take my business elsewhere! You embarrassed yourself and your employer by speaking to me this way.

My husband and I were having problems getting our (new to us) gas fireplace operating.

was great. He arrived early, made sure nothing in the house would get dirty, and thoroughly cleaned and leak tested the fireplace. He also taught us how to use it. He was extremely knowledgable about all aspects of the fireplace. Works like a charm now!

They did a good job. He was a pleasant guy. It didn't take too long. We have never had the fireplace cleaned. I fell more secure to start fire now. The price was good.

Our gas fireplace came with the house when we purchased it ten years ago. we've never had any maintenance done on it. Recently we heard from a relative that their gas fireplace had a carbon monoxide leak that almost killed them! That prompted us to call
Mojave Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
to have our fireplace checked out.
Mojave Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived on time totally prepared for anything he might find. He assured us that our fireplace was in great operating condition and we had no reason to worry about leaks. Of course he recommended having a carbon monoxide monitor next to the fireplace, as any home owner should.
Mojave Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
gave our fireplace and the valve a thorough cleaning. He repositioned the stones to give us a better flame distribution.
It was great having an expert who knows everything about gas fireplaces give us this reassurance. And, his service comes with a one year guarantee should we experience any trouble within the year.

It was a really good experience and they are very professional and timely. The gentleman was a very nice person who shows concern for the work he does. He did an excellent job and the fireplace looks great! He even took the time to show us things about the fireplace that we didn't know.

did a great job and I'm very happy with the result. I was on a tight timeline and he was able to shift some things around to get my fireplaces done before my big event. He came to my house, showed me pictures of his previous work to help me get inspiration, and we talked about what I might want to do. He gave me a quote and we set up all the details right then.
I later met him at a stone company where we picked out the stone I wanted. He also brought examples of the kind of materials, shape and stain he would be using to make the actual mantels. This was all very helpful to allow me to see most of the actual materials before if was even really purchased. I didn't have to worry that anything was miscommunicated or would turn out different than I was expecting.
Because it was a full-wall stacked stone for one of the fireplaces, the project took about a week.

, the tile guy, arrived at around 10 each morning and called me each day to let me know before he was going to get there which was great. He worked until about 4 or 5 and it took 5 days of this to get the hearth and the fireplace built.
Mojave Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
came on a couple of the days to make sure everything was going smoothly and also to install the actual mantels he was making off site. Everything turned out beautifully in the end and I was very happy with the work.
My only caution was that my living room was totally covered in dust and grout particles at the end.
Mojave Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
did spend time cleaning all the major stuff, but there was just a film over everything in the room. I did know to expect this and a lot of stuff was covered up, so I don't think he did anything wrong, it's just something to expect. The only bad thing was that some of the grout dust did get all over the place and that stuff is actually really hard to clean. So even today I can still see a film on some of the stone and my tile floor around the area. I haven't had a
Mojave Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
to get grout dust cleaner and scrub myself yet, but this is probably something I would have liked to know ahead of time to either know how to clean it better, or just be prepared.
All in all, even with my slight complaint, I'm very happy I hired

and I love the end result.

Everything went fine. The way the tech cleaned it I could've done myself. He gave me an estimate of about $1,500 to have all of this work completed on the fireplace that I don't feel was necessary. I felt the deal was just a way to get them out here and upsell.
