"They did the work I requested and advised me what was required and showed me the rotten wood pieces. With the roof
took pictures of the holes and showed me" so that i knew he was not trying to rip me off. As he said " I am not a roofer " but he did get a tube of roofing tar and caulked the holes he found and also a seam in one of the valley's which looked bad. They were on time and they cleaned up afterwards and you would not know they were there. They did an excellent job and when my wife came home she looked at the work and was impressed and she is not easy to impress. I would recommend them and I am planing to use them again on another project on the interior this winter.

"In the summer of 2013 I bought a large 1906 single-family home that had until recently been occupied by a couple of
-head squatters. The house had great bones" but needed a ton of work: electrical, plumbing, sheet rock, refinished floors, new kitchen, new bathroom, new furnace--pretty much everything. This project took more than a year, cost about $200,000, and involved dozens of contractors and laborers. I hired people at all price points--everything from day laborers to guys from Craigslist to people with excellent ratings on Yelp and Angie's List.
was one of the least expensive people I worked with. I found him on Craigslist and was skeptical at first. He looks pretty raggedy and drives a beat up car. But he has ultimately become my go-to guy for almost everything. He does better work than many of the far more expensive and well-known contractors I dealt with but charges a fraction of the price. He has many years of experience and is very knowledgable about the trades and local code. Most important, he's completely honest. He stands by his work and will stick with a job until he gets it right. I can recommend
for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock, painting, and window repair and replacement. This is all stuff that he did for me quite extensively, and it all turned out really well. He's a one-man operation and he's not a fast worker. I usually work with him by the bid instead of by the hour. Sometimes he fails to show up at the promised time. But this is a small tradeoff for working with someone who knows what he's doing, is reasonably priced, and is a good person. The house is now completed and was instantly rented out. It's one of three residential properties that I own. I will continue to use
for all of my handyman needs.

We are very please with our remodel experience. The original project scope was a kitchen remodel and removal of the wall between our kitchen and living room. As the project progressed we added hardwood floors and paint for the kitchen/living room area. Even with the added work

replaced a large picture window with three smaller windows, replaced many split or rotting clapboards, removed a problematic back porch overhang, and repaired the damage caused by that structure. He also helped us redesign our front entry, working within the existing footprint and completely transformed what was a fairly lackluster entry to the house, with unevenly spaced columns, into something special.
He took our ideas and made suggestions - like using cedar shingles for the facade to add some visual interest. When we couldn't envision how exactly we could 'fatten up' skinny columns, he told us about a house in the area that incorporated lattice into the column treatment and we figured out how to adapt that basic idea for our front entry.
He is professional, reliable, and his cheerful, open good humor make him a delight to work with.
During the construction there were several decisions to be made, and

's advice was a big help at every stage of the project.
We would definitely hire him again.

I received an estimate for a bathroom remodel project. He seems to be a
trust worthy guy and a very nice guy. My project is on hold right now
but he was very thorough and followed up very promptly.

I called
Los Alamos General Contractors Provider Name Locked
and left a messege to call me regarding an estimate for a 4 season addition. Almost a week later he returned my call and stated he was too busy to return my call sooner. He said he was so backed up, he wouldn't be able to get to me until the end of Nov, 2014. I told him that would be OK because he had some good reviews. He then said he couldn't get to me for an estimate until the next week and I told him that would be OK. He said he would be out the following week so I arranged my schedule to be home that week. Well, he never showed up, not even a phone call. On Mon morning, 9/22, I called and left a messege to please call me. No call. Tuesday morning, I called again, and again, NO call. I've been self-employed for almost 50 yrs and no matter how busy I was, I ALWAYS returned a call. As a new member, this is my first time using Angie's List and it's not turning out too well.

I called him. He drove from Alpharetta to my home to look at the job. I had an estimate within 2 days. We scheduled the job. He was on time, did prep work one day, took all my cabinet doors to his shop, painted my kitchen walls, took great pains to protect my floors, my ceilings and all my stuff. He and his partner were clean and efficient and my home is lovely because of their work. It took me a long time to get the courage to have my cabinets be red! They are fabulous.

This was a job we needed to have done in less than a week from when I joined Angie's list and opted for an offer of 3 hours of carpentry for $150. The owner/operator of this business (
Los Alamos General Contractors Provider Name Locked
) was extremely prompt in responding to my bid and scheduled to do the job just 4 days later (comfortably in advance of when I needed it to be completed). He did an excellent job on the steps and cleaned up very well after completing the job. The quality of the work is outstanding, and I would definitely retain him to do additional work. HIs professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness could not have been better. I wish he lived in this area.
The only drawback is not the owner/operator's fault, but rather is a criticism of how the folks w/ Angie's list had him list his services. He lives in Elon, which is 1 hr. & 20 min. from our house. So in fairness to the contractor, I paid him $100 above the cost of the "coupon" I purchased on Angie's list (as well as the cost of the materials, of course). Since he had nearly 3 hours of travel time and the associated fuel costs. I do not think the people w/ Angie's list who helped Mr.
Los Alamos General Contractors Provider Name Locked
set up his business profile, should have included the RTP area (or at least not all of it).

Even though
Los Alamos General Contractors Provider Name Locked
said his schedule was really jammed, he made time on a Saturday afternoon to examine the water damage. He meticulously examined the walls and ceiling, asked a good number of questions about how the water damage had occurred and gave me (a first-time homeowner) a very detailed description of how water moves through houses and the possible consequences of having had a leak and the options for dealing with it. He determined that my leaky pipe didn't generate enough water to warrant doing any mitigation at all, less letting it dry on it's own. He let me know that as a contractor it would have been easy for him to recommend replacing plaster, etc and him making a tidy sum out of it, but that it would not be necessary for the health of the home and not worth the stress and expense.

I really appreciated his honesty and that he took the time to come out to see my property on a weekend. We have other, non-emergent work to do on the house and I plan to call him first for those jobs. Thanks
