Business Description: Jacob Whalen Construction is a one man, one-stop, do-it-all Handyman/Carpentry/Remodel expert. I specialize in household repairs and home "updates" and take pride in the quality of my work & my reputation of being clean, honest, & creative. I can help you "make your house a home", whether by re-modeling your closet, installing a bathroom vanity or kitchen cabinets, patching a hole, installing and painting a new front door, etc. I started as a high-end finish carpenter in California in 1996 and have been building my way up since, learning all main construction trades, and have been self-employed since 2001. I moved to Plantation, Fl in 2005. All the work is done myself, no subs. Florida does not require handymen to be licensed, so if no job permit is needed I can do the job. I do carry a $600,000 liability insurance policy. My work rate is $40 per hour. Ask about my Angie's List discount. My minimum charge is $100. I judge my estimates simply on how long the job should take, but if we agree to a spend limit I can work with that. Any materials needed are simply shown with receipts. Thank you for the opportunity.
