Hispanic workers have a difficult time understanding
accent. The price was very fair but workmanship rushed and many workers did not understand how to do things correctly.

ability to start the job quickly gets him a lot of work. Once he is mostly paid it is hard to get him to come back and finish.
I would not use him again and ended up firing him after not showing up three times in a row.

Sunday came and no one showed up. Monday came and his father came to look at our backyard. He left and never came back. Wednesday came and his father started on the fence. Thursday came and the sod company came to deliver the sod and wanted us to pay for it so we did. We found out it was already paid for. The owner,
went and picked up our money and never returned it to us. Thursday afternoon, a kid showed up and layed the sod right over our hard dirt. No rototilling, top soil or grading the dirt . My fiancee called me and I came home. We made him roll back up the sod.
's father came to help the young man. They put down a couple bags of top soil and began to
it down again with no rototlling or grading. They said it would be fine...I got tired of arguing so they got their way. The sprinkler system was going to be put in after the fact. We didn't want the sprinklers in the grass. We wanted the sprinklers on the
near the mow strip that they were also going to
out of pavers. No one but
's father was showing up for a couple hours here and there to make an effort at finishing the job. Friday came and no one came. Saturday came and no one showed up. Sunday I began calling
but he never answered the phone. Would only talk to us through texting. His father text me and said he had to go to the emergency room on Friday for
stones, Saturday emergency room with his wife, and now Sunday because he has a colon issue. His son,
texts us back saying his dad was ill and they wouldn't be coming out and it would be a while before they could come and finish the job. We had cut concrete for the sprinkler systems that were still not done. They did the mow strip completely wrong. They made a wall around the grass instead of putting the pavers in the dirt level to the grass. We had to pull them all up and they were going to fix that also when they did the sprinkler system. This has been a night
. They received 3/4 of our money but did not do nearly the work. We asked for the money we paid for the sod and they do not feel they owe us any money. This has been a horrible experience....We now have to hire another company to finish what they started....I would never recommend this company....
is a very bad communicator and doesn't like talking on the phone. He would only text and argued with my fiancee about the entire project. I didn't do my homework but if I had I would have seen some of the reviews from other clients on the internet that had the same horror stories to tell about

co. elsewhere in Angie's List. They produced an entire set of blueprints for every element of the project(grading, drainage, irrigation, electrical and planting), and they are extremely knowledgeable about local soil, season and environmental constraints. During consultations, the design team was very flexible to our home and work schedules. They are very professional, organized, prompt, friendly and honest. The construction and installation phase was fast, clean and deliberate with only very minor glitches in execution. When we had questions, the designer and contractor were immediately available to discuss concerns and solutions. The construction team was very respectful of our living space and kept the entire site clean of debris and clutter. Designs by

We had them come in and clean up the whole yard when we bought the place. They cleaned everything up, hauled away the debris in six hours and charged us $250.00. They did everything from mowing the yard to trimming the bushes, raking leaves. They also took away all the leaf refuse. I have zero complaints about what they did. They did more than what I expected.

They did a really good job. I got some really nice things from them, they still come by, and do other things for me as well. They really made the yard look beautiful. We were so impressed. Price was very low, I tipped them another $500.00 extra because they did so well. I think it was worth it. It is very impressive now.

They had good ideas but never followed up, never submitted a proposal. Said they would submit something the next week then emailed me and said it would be the following week, then called the following week to ask if I was still interested. I said no.

It didn't go because the company failed to return phones calls and messages. It is unprofessional and rude. If they can't take a job at least have the curtesy of calling back and letting the potential client know.

The job is more than we can afford at this time however he was willing to help by recommending which portions to perform first then do more at a later date. A bit on the pricey side so am still looking for someone maybe a bit more local. I would however, recommend

, he is very professional and by all appearances and past jobs, his work seems top notch.

After the landscape project was finally completed, 3 months from its expected completion date, and within days after sending the final check to the landscaper, we discovered a crack in our front yard retaining wall which began to expand. We contacted
the City's Planning Department to inquire about the walls inspection history. The City's Planning Department explained that permits were never obtained; therefore, the landscape project was never inspected. The contractor had communicated to us by email last Fall that our project was going to be delayed because he was drawing out the details of the plan to send to the city for the purpose of applying for the permits. It was shocking to learn that permits were never obtained. After asking the staff at the Planning Department to

diligently to make sure that the permits were not misfiled, the city could not find any evidence that the permits were ever requested. We sent Majestic Pools and Landscape a message by email and regular mail requesting copies of the permits and the detail plans which were supposed to have been submitted. Majestic has failed to respond to this request.
We had another landscape contractor examine the retaining walls, and he gave his opinion based on what he could observe, which was that the retaining walls had the appearance of being of substandard construction, and that further cracking will probably occur with time. Also, there appears to be no drainage rock behind the walls, and one of the walls may not have been properly engineered for its height. In addition, the workers from Majestic left a gap between the cement steps and the adjacent stucco wall, which was filled with mortar even though we had requested from Majestic that the gap be filled with cement. The landscaper giving his opinion of the work believes that the mortar will crack within a short period of time.
We requested that the city's Planning Department send an inspector ASAP, and the inspector came the following week. We expressed to the City's inspector about our concerns with regards to the retaining wall's structural integrity because it may not have been constructed in compliance with standard code requirements. The inspector told us that the city never received engineered construction plans which were required. He could not properly evaluate the structural integrity of the walls without the engineered construction plans; therefore, it was difficult to assess how the walls were constructed because the required inspections by the city during the construction process were never done. In addition, we had a large arbor built, and the inspector could not assess whether the posts were correctly installed into the ground. We are now left with the task of finding another contractor who can either design engineered plans of the completed project, verifying its true construction, or who will have to reconstruct all of the walls to make them in compliance with the city's codes. This is going to require considerable additional expenditure of funds for our landscape project.
We hired

4 years ago to landscape our backyard, and at that time, Majestic did obtain building permits from the City. We are at a loss as to why the City's Planning Department never received an application from
Fairfield Landscapers Provider Name Locked
