"Office just recently moved to a very nice new building off the Oconee Connector near Watkinsville. Opted to go for the much shorter time procedure, given my mom's age, of almost" 90, even though it would leave more of a noticeable scar. The slower procedure would take at least 4 hours and maybe as long as 6 hours, I was told. They did not tell us of the more traditional and much faster procedure, but I really think they should have. I found out from my niece, an M.D., who explained to me why they do the slower procedure, explaining that it leaves much less of a scar, and suggested to me that she could call them about it to have the quicker procedure done instead, which she did. They never told us of the change, so I was prepared to wait the 4 to 6 hours upon arrival. They did do the shorter procedure and Mom didn't complain as the procedure went painlessly fast and smoothly. Mom had a two inch incision with stiches. The only complaint she had was afterwards having to wait for at least 45 minutes in the lobby to get the final word that all the cancer had been removed. She got so tired of waiting that she insisted on walking out, regardless of my protests that she continue to wait awhile longer. Fortunately, just as she was definitely getting up to leave, we got the all-clear. I don't think of this as a punctuality issue with the provider, as I suspect it is a routine period of time of waiting for the lab results. Also, I noticed others probably having to wait about the same time period for their final results.

"New treatment has helped. The docs and staff are friendly. No long waits at this office. Getting an appointment quickly can be hard but using other docs in the office in those cases works out just fine.

Dr.
Columbia Dermatologists Provider Name Locked
's practice is a HUGE practice, but incredibly well-organized and efficient. He was knowledgeable, took care of several suspect "spots," biopsied one of them, called me for a further, slight treatment of that spot. Very professional, thorough, prompt.

For the general dermatology, I found it fairly easy to get an appointment with a nurse practitioner and I felt I got a good exam - in fact they did diagnose a basal cell carcinoma and referred me to their office in
Columbia Dermatologists Provider Name Locked
for
Columbia Dermatologists Provider Name Locked
surgery, which was also done promptly and well. On the cosmetic side, the esthetician made excellent recommendations for the right products for my skin, and I was also pleased with the results of my laser treatments. The services are expensive, but there are frequent specials so it pays to sign up for the email alerts.

Since the cancer was on the front of my face, I was scared to death about having the procedure, but everything worked out fine. Not even a scar. I gave a presentation to a group not long after the surgery and no one even noticed that I had had surgery.
I went back this year where another doctor in the practice,
Columbia Dermatologists Provider Name Locked
, M.D., removed a malignant melanoma from my chest.
I see Dr.
Columbia Dermatologists Provider Name Locked
on a regular basis for skin checks to make sure if I do have skin cancer, that they catch it early.
I have recommended the practice to others and would encourage anyone to have regular checkups to determine if they have skin cancer.

Dr

explained everything and answered all my questions. He removed a few suspicious items that turned out non cancerous. It was a positive experience and i will return yearly to stay healthy.

I've seen Dr.
Columbia Dermatologists Provider Name Locked
every year for the past 10 years. She first did some effective cosmetic treatment of vericose veins on my nose (which another dermatologist had failed to remove). She also noticed a skin cancer on my cheek which she biopsied and I had removed. I see her each year for my checkup, and besides taking care of many precancerous lesions, she cured a persistent toenail fungus and identified another skin cancer. Her credentials speak for themselves, but in spite of being very knowledgeable, she is very matter of fact and not at all condescending. When she tells me not to worry about something, I don't. I feel very fortunate to have her as my dermatologist.

Overall the treatment worked. I do have to go back for a followup treatment to get the results I want. The nurse was really helpful though. I will go back. They also offer specials at certain times of the year. So the prices are not bad.
