The call center people were not friendly, nor were they proficient with the system the company claims they use all the time.
The answering service did not always answer the phone.
They failed to cancel appointments when clients called to reschedule.
They made an appointment at my business for an individual who was trying to make an appointment in another state. (

The guy installing the security system didn't seem to have any idea of what he was doing. It was scheduled to take one day and he couldn't figure it out so had to book a second. This wasted even more of my time because I had to be there. He parked his truck right in front of our mailbox. I told him not to do that because it would annoy the US Post Office. Sure enough, the

Home Security package: lighting, cameras, thermostat, etc. The cameras kept losing connectivity right away. I had to call customer service to have them talk me through resetting them. The settings for sending messages / videos / texts when event occurred kept changing on me. I have given up on resetting them. The cameras finally lost all connectivity last Fall. The thermostat needed to be re-calibrated so I had to call customer service again to have them talk me through that. Oh, - and FYI - if you don't get the thermostat connected to the power line (have a good HVAC person do this) the thermostat needs new batteries all the time. They don't tell you that. The touchpad needed to be rebooted a few times so I had to call about that. I can't believe how much maintenance I have had to do with this system. The touchpad finally failed completely last Fall, too. I tried multiple times to follow

's instructions but nothing worked so I finally turned it off because it kept alarming. After that, the thermostat kept trying to connect to the touchpad via WiFi - and, since it wasn't there - it ate through a lot of batteries. I mean a lot. The thermostat kept failing (due to lack of power if we didn't change to new batteries right away) so that when we got home from work the house was hot. This is summer!
At this point, the whole thing was a big FAIL.

(once again) to ask them for an appointment. I travel a lot for business (which is why I wanted a security system to begin with) and told them I was available on June 13th. (This time I was pushing for an appointment instead of trying to resolve this by having them talk me through the "fix" - - and they NEVER offered to come out). This was on the 2nd. She told me they could make the appointment for the 6th. I told them, no, I was still out of town on the 6th and so needed the 13th. She told me she would make an appointment for the 10th. I said, again, no, I was out of town and I could be home on the 13th. She said that they don't make appointments over a week out and I would have to take the 10th and call them on the 8th to cancel the appointment and make a new one. Now, why in the world would I want an appointment that I can't keep? (And they make so much money, why is it that they have a calendar that only goes a week out??) I told her, no, I didn't want the appointment on the 10th. This was one of many phone calls,

"chats", etc., that had no positive outcome and, honestly, I was at the point where I was tempted to throw the whole system in the trash, even if I was still paying the monthly fee. I was that fed up. I had asked about canceling the contract but

confirming my appointment on the 10th! I was half tempted to let their worker show up when I wasn't going to be there just to waste their time, too. Well, I was nice and I canceled that appointment (that they made and I hadn't wanted in the first place!) I finally found the name of a person in charge of customer service online and contacted him via email. Now, keep in mind that I got the system in January 2013 and it had been failing for a year and a half by now. This person, I have to say, finally took some action. He told me that they would work around my schedule. They did. They sent out a man who actually knew what he was doing! It was so refreshing. He had to do a hard reboot of a few things, whatever that means, and it finally worked. He also gave me instructions that the first guy never did and gave me some training on the touchpad. In addition, he checked our cable and our phone. He went out to the box outside. He told me that all

techs are supposed to check the box outside on every visit. He said it was obviously no one had done it in years (probably since 2001 when our house was built and we moved in). The connections were all very old and out of date. He replaced all of these.

While it was nice the last tech knew what he was doing, the group as a whole gets a low score for customer service and everything else. Worked closely with me on selecting a machine that would match very tight space restrictions. Included help/advice on removal of old machine, when again there were severe restrictions on movement in and out of home. Professional installation, and provided instruction on using new machine (which operates differently than my old one).

Their TV record menu is slow and getting slower. Worst of all, they listed our phone number, which we have had for more than 40 years, as the local hospital, for reasons they can't explain, and can't seem to fix it. They are not concerned, basically, because they are not the ones getting calls in the middle of the night. Once it was posted on the web, it went into a loop. They act like a monopoly. Fortunately, they're not, so we'll be finding another provider.

I have incomplete service since 7/15/2011.

does not response to help fix the problem. They bill you anyway. I don't know if other providers are better or worst. I can definetly say that Fios is better the worst. They don't care all they want to do is send new boxes. After install 6 new boxes when do they wake up and think that maybe that is not the problem. They are not customer service reps that THINK.

The tech notices a signal issue on the line that was not causing problems right now but may down the road and said he put in a work order to have it fixed in the next week. I got a call on the following Sunday from a line tech that came out to fix the line. I was greatly impressed with how quick they came out for a non-outage issue.
