Hvac reviews in Citrus Heights

We have an annual service contract with Service Champion where they come out and service our ac and heating twice a year. If I don't remember to call them they will call me for an appointment to come out and clean and service our units. they do a great job, very prompt and very courteous and thorough. They installed our service about seven years ago. Greaqt company.

Tech showed on time, explained what he was going to do, then proceeded to do so. He had a minor problem with a large wasp nest but took care of that. He then adjusted/cleaned the various knobs, etc. When through on the roof (where the AC unit is located), he came into the house, made sure the thermostat was responding properly, made some good suggestions, then finished up and left. He spent about an hour taking care of everything. He was quite professional in dress and demeanor, price was fair, and I was pleased with the whole situation

My mother in laws air conditioner went out right in the middle of a heat wave here in
Citrus Heights HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
a few weeks ago. She asked me to get an A/C company out asap. Of course in the middle of a heat wave I am sure ALL of the A/C companies were slammed. But I knew who to call right away anyways...Perfection Homes Systems! I had used them many times in the past on home listings that needed repairs and had referred them to past clients. I had never heard a bad thing about them. So

got an A/C guy out to my mother in laws home asap. They did a great job getting her 25+ year old A/C working again. Of course she will need to have it replaced eventually and I told my mother in law USE Perfection when she is ready to install her new A/C. During a heat wave I would have expected the prices to be jacked up for a repair, but

are quality trustworthy people. The cost to repair the A/C was very reasonable! Thanks Perfection for making my mother in law happy and getting her out of my hair quickly. HA!

's crew were on time. They were very polite and professional. They laid down rugs, covered the furniture, kept the dust down to as little as possible. Did a wonderful job of cleaning up before they left. They worked very hard, and and was very responsive to any questions I had and went over how to use the system before they left. A Great Crew!!. I would recommend them to anyone.

The people are prompt & professional. No question. They even call to re-confirm their appoiintment (that's true for sales calls & their repairs). Time is money, and in peak demand periods, I don't blame them for ensuring someone won't be a "No Show".
The guy did a full walk-around my home to make the proper assessment for the size unit I needed. He crawled up in the attic & looked around at the existing ducts. He did his calculations. Well.....he made a pitch to peddle me all new ductwork along with a new system. OMG. I hadn't expected THAT. My $8K AC system was now going to be $12K. But, he seemed to think I could get by with a smaller-sized system, based on their improved efficiency and the size of my single-story house. $300 - $500 cheaper. Big whoop.
Of course, I needed to think about this type of expenditure & I was hardly willing to sign on the dotted line to get the work going, unitl I had met with 3 other companies & got their bids.
End result -- ALL other companies indicated that for the little bit of savings in going with a smaller system wouldn't cut it on those 105-degree++ days in

. The minimal savings just wasn't worth it (besides, if I recall, the rebates may not have been available for that smaller system anyway....). Duct work/replace? ALL the other companies thought that was a crazy expenditure. They explained that they do generally have to patch the existing ductwork, as needed, in order to do the testing & received the required efficiency rating. My ducts were fine. I was asked if I'd planned on staying in the house another 30 years...which might make the expense justified at this time. NOPE.
In conclusion, I'd probably have the Bells do a repair for me, knowing full well I'd pay top dollar for it. But I really felt that they were trying to over-sell me on a system....and all the trimmings with the added expense of the duct work. I passed. Incidentally, I didn't end up going with the absolute cheapest, low-balled bid, so it wasn't just about the lowest price.

Within the first 15 minutes of speaking with this rep I knew he was lying to me and this made me hesitant but I know that the "salesman" has to close the deal and will say anything to you. He first told me that SMUD will only offer rebates on 16 CEAR units when in fact I knew that they would also give rebate on 14 CEAR. He also told me that by going through SMUD financing I would be charged 17.99% interest, which again is not true and offered that I could go through a couple of institutions that his employer uses. I knew that they charged 6.99% but also called SMUD afterward and was confirmed that the interest rate was 6.99% no matter whether you had good credit or bad. He advised me that he would need 60 to 90 minutes of my time but did not leave until 3 1/2 hours later. As I was getting estimates at that point I was not willing to sign on the dotted line right then. At one point he called the owner??? and were somehow able to give me an almost $4,000 discount but only if I signed up with them that day, right now. I refuse to be pressured into making a decision that I was not fully comfortable with. I need to know that the company I hire I can trust will be there for me if/when I start to have problems in years to come. I was asked if I had a preference as to brand of unit I was interested in and said that he was the professional so I would leave that up to them to provide me with the best unit at the best price. In the end, I still did not know the unit he would recommend. Also I felt that if a company offers such as large discount to sign up with them, that discount should be offered the next and maybe a few days afterward. That would be a sign of great integrity of a company. By not extending this offer a few days it makes me wonder if they were overcharging me in the first place as this huge decrease is price did not come out until I stated my hesitancy in signing their contract.

See above- still waiting to get the part replaced. Have had to have coolant replaced/added twice since the leak was suspected. Informed that now that the leak has been diagnosed, by law, they cannot add any more coolant. Will need to wait for the part.

I am a widowed mother, working two jobs, trying to make the mortgage and bills. I feel like there was an attempt to take advantage of my ignorance when it comes to air conditioners etc. Thankfully I did not have sufficient credit to qualify for a loan on a new AC unit, otherwise I would be the proud new owner of yet another monthly payment and debt....More /> I later had PG&E come out to inspect the unit as I had been told there were safety concerns with mine. Although PG&E confirmed my unit is old, and could stand to be replaced, it was in no way dangerous to operate. Inefficient and moderately effective, but not hazardous. Other than the attempt to scare me into purchasing a new AC unit, the office staff was wonderful, courteous and accommodating. The technician was personable, punctual and knowledgeable.

Tech arrived on time. Did not offer to remove shoes before entering (thus the "B" for professionalism). Checked attic air handler and recommended future fan cleaning. Checked refrigerant level. Asked to diagnose noise (high pitch whine coming from compressor after it shuts down) but he was unable to pinpoint any problem. Did not offer to hose out outdoor unit even though this was listed in the services to be performed (perhaps because I do not keep my hose connected to the hose bib so it was not convenient). Recommended I replace capacitor on fan motor and explained why. I went ahead and had him do it even though the cost represented a 1000% markup over the part. cost. (worth it to not have to go into the attic myself)
If I ever need major repair I would use this company again.
