We were looking for a countertop place that has granite slab and does all the cutting and installation. We saw this one by
when driving on the 78 freeway and decided to give it a try. We had an accurate layout plan for our kitchen with us.
helped us and showed us around. We found a slab that we liked and she quoted us a price based on our layout that seemed reasonable.
We reserved that slab in mid January with a $300 deposit. We were waiting for our kitchen cabinets to come in which finally arrived in march. Following installation, the
crew came to our house to make a template for the countertops. We then followed them to
, where we decided where to position the individual pieces on the slab.
About an hour later I received a call from the owner
that more granite was needed than originally calculated and that there would be an additional $400 charge. This was despite the layout not changing, so it had the feeling of a switch and bait type of tactic. I reluctantly consented. But it was the first of three occurrences that slightly diminished my originally overwhelmingly positive feeling for this place.
Within a week and we made an appointment for installation. The crew was supposed to arrive between 8 and noon and they did show up right before noon. At 9am however I had a surprise visit by a plumber send by
to hook up plumbing for the sink and dishwasher (which of course was not even possible since the countertops and sink were not installed yet). I had been previously asked by
whether I needed a plumber and tried to talk me into using theirs for a $250 charge, which I declined. Hooking up a sink and dishwasher takes me about an hour so $250 seems very steep for that service. Now sending this plumber might have been a mistake but it was the second occurrence that diminished my enthusiasm about their professionalism.
The installation went well and the granite looks mostly great. I am a little surprised though how visible the seam is where the
pieces were glued to the slab. This is more so than any other seam I have ever seen on granite. Most of the time they are barely visible. It is possible that this is due to us using a very light colored granite slab and could not be avoided. It does not bother me too much but I wonder if this could not have been done better.
All in all my impression of the place was still positive but not as overwhelmingly positive as it had started out.

I had timely communication with the home office regarding scheduling of the job. The three installation employees showed up on time on all three days of the job. The first day involved demo of the old tile, preparation of the floor for the new tile and actual starting of installation of the new tile after the floor tile pattern was explained to me and approved. The same three employees were present each day of the job. It was obvious they had worked together many times and coordinated their work smoothly. The job was completed in three days as was expected and the finished product is beautiful. We are very happy with the final completed job.
The only negative with our experience with Legacy Flooring and I consider it a major flaw that detracts from the overall job was less than professional follow-up by managment. During the original job my wife and I were so happy with the results and realized we had a significant amount of tile left over that we wanted to pursue replacing a bathroom floor either as part of the original job or later as a separate project. The installer on site measured the job and took pictures and submitted them to management for review and quote. No response. I called on four occasions and spoke with the office manager at Legacy Flooring and confirmed that a request had been made multiple times by their employee and myself. She expressed surprise that the owner had not responded. After four tries I gave up. My advice to contractors- if you are not interested in a job for whatever reason, be professional, pick up the phone and call the customer. Just not responding to a customer is not acceptable. I shlould have known this could happen with this contractor since there was another customer listed in Angie's List that had the same problem.

Wonderful job!
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, the owner of
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, worked with us from the beginning with excellent suggestions and advice. We wanted to remodel the bathroom to make it more accessible.
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
understood what we wanted, and was particularly responsive to all our suggestions and to our requests to use non-toxic materials wherever possible that would not outgas. The first thing he did was to install a large plastic "tunnel" to protect the adjoining master bedroom from construction dirt - it worked beautifully.
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was easy to reach by phone or email both before and during the job, and always responded promptly. When unexpected things came up (as they always do during any major remodeling we've ever had). they were taken care of promptly and correctly and we were always notified if there were any unavoidable brief delays. Communication was always outstanding. Most of the hands-on heavy construction work was performed by
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
from Premier Renovations, who is also a licensed general contractor and Angie's List Member. All of the work was performed professionally and beautifully, along with complete cleanup. We always knew who was on the premises; only three people were involved (

I found
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
on Craigslist. I had several bids and everyone was about the same price, but I had a good feeling about
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
so I hired him. I called his references and they all confirmed my gut feeling - this guy is good and he can be trusted. And that was exactly my experience.
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
is very talented craftsman, a person of high integrity and a someone I will be hiring again AND referring out to my family and friends. In fact, my parents have already hired him to do their kitchen.

remodeled by bathroom. The remodel itself was significant.
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
did the whole thing with one helper - there weren't subs coming and going every day like some contractors.
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
assumed 100% of the responsibility for the entire job, which was refreshing. Because his able to do electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, etc, he CAN do it all. I had heard horror stories of contractors promising a "3 week job" and it taking 3 months - I expressed this
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and he assured me that he would get the job done in the schedule he had laid out. And he did!
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was great about calling me every step of the way, even if there was no decision to be made, he still called to check in to see if I was happy with his work. The payment schedule he laid out went just as planned. He had a contract and met it. He talked me through my questions. I wanted a few minor changes mid process and he walked me through the pros and cons - I asked for his opinion and he gave it to me. I ended up a with a beautiful bathroom for a good price; it also has added a lot to my life personally. Every time I walk into the bathroom, I feel happy as the tile, woodwork and layout are just beautiful.

Our advice:

If you choose
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, understand that they may promise a good deal more than they are capable of delivering and constant supervision/quality control from the homeowner wil be required to ensure less than substandard results.

They never showed up to my first appointment to advise me on tile choices, then sent another person who only did measurements. He was useless as a helper in making decisions.

The end result of the bath remodel is ok. The custom built vanity is beautiful, and if you use
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and Hammer for one thing, they do make beautiful custom vanities. They installed overhead can lighting and sconces, which are also nicely done. However, I regret having
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and Hammer

my flooring. During the installation, the employee laying the floor got glue in many spots throughout the entire house. It was even on newly painted walls. When glue gets on the floor and hardens, there isn't a good way of removing it without removing the original finish of the floor, which is what happened in my home. They did remove much of the glue, I still see some in all the rooms now, but the finish on the floor is different in the areas where the solvent was used on the floor. So, I have areas of dull, streaked flooring throughout the house.
Carlsbad Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was not doing the work himself, and the employees he used seemed very messy. I was not at home during the day when the work was being done, and I think the outcome might have been better if I had been.

It was a good experience for the most part. There were some things that concerned me though. The biggest negative that I experienced was that the tub was damaged in the demo, and the salesman said that he had told us it was a possibility, but neither my husband nor I had heard that. For the most part though they did a good job, but I did call them back to regrout a few areas of the tiling job. Overall, it was a good experience. The guy in charge was very personable and easy to get along with.
