Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews

"Great. Set-up plan, scheduled work, arrived on time, worked all day and cleaned up prior to departure, every day. Could not have been better professionally and skill-wise. Great workers, and were a pleasure to have in our house.
"He took the time to listen to my concerns, answered the questions and gave me information on how to handle my situation. All of this and I have not hired him yet.
Very knowledgeable and professional.
"Work was completed in a professional and timely manner without added costs. The work area was kept neat and clean and finished as promised according to our schedule.

"Lets start this out with the summary first: never do business with
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
(who also go by MTB Remodeling and Friendly Contracting). It is a telling sign that at the end I didn't care about what they did, I just wanted them gone! The
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
fact that they have to go by 3 different company names should have been my first tip-off. Below is the series of concerns and issues I have.

Main points:
The management/oversite is terrible. Work is sloppy. Respect for my house was of least concern. More Details:
There is one project manager that will visit your house to speak with you, you will not hear from him again (
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
in my case). There is another project manager that will handle the sub-contractors (tile, plumbing, etc.); you will hear from them often but they never visit the site so have no clue as to what is going on (
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
Amzaleg in my case). And a site foreman who really seems to care about nothing except getting on to the next job ASAP. When quoted and signed the contract for the work, I was provided a schedule of 7 days with 1 day for clean-up. So an 8 day total job. The job went over to 3 weeks with no one working on any Saturday and of the two weeks I checked, no work was done on a Friday either. I was informed at the time of signing that I would have to get the faucet on my own so that it matched what I wanted, but I could still get the pedestal sink from them. I was fine with it but, obviously, I would to choose the sink first (style and faucet\knob spacing). It took me threatening to stop work for anyone to actually provide me the pedestal sink options. Then 1.5 weeks after I choose the sink AND
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was fine with that option and gave me the go ahead to purchase the faucet, they informed me that the specific sink I chose was out of stock and would take until Oct. 20th to arrive. So instead of choosing one of their other options, I had to go to Home Depot to guarantee I got the sink I wanted, when I wanted it. Part of the job required moving the plumbing and position of the sink 6". This, obviously, requires moving the light bar electrical and the plumbing for the sink. However, apparently the project managers and site foreman could not comprehend this until I had to complain. The
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
fact that they don't realize that if the sink is moved the light bar has to be moved too is basic and scary. (I have pictures of this, but Angie's List doesn't let my upload any.) Eventually it was moved, but it was done by adding a junction box and stringing a short new wire. Now I have a cover for a junction box very visible where the old light used to be. Part of the job was installing some cabinets for closed storage (towels, toiletries, etc.). This was gone over in the estimate and planning with the other project manager (
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
). However, this apparently did not make it do the OTHER project manager or the site foremen because they installed the cabinet and then noticed that it covered the only power outlet. So they installed ANOTHER junction box and short piece of wire to the new outlet location. The problem with this is that they DID NOT cover the junction box (bare wire exposed) AND the outlet is so close to the cabinets that I cannot have anything plugged in and open the cabinets at the same time. Remember the light and electrical box above? Well I have done electrical work in my house before and know one
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
thing, running new wire would have taken 1 hour longer but would have left the job with no unsightly\unsafe junction boxes everywhere. The persons grouting the tile did a mediocre job at best. There were small gaps all over the shower. The floor was grouted AFTER the toilet, cabinets, and pedestal sink were installed; which means that if I ever change the toilet and the footprint does not match, I have to have the floor re-grouted to TRY and match. The grout was not cleaned off of the tile after being applied, which means I have to go scrap the glass tiles to get the grout off. Around the plumbing for the bathtub (tub faucet, etc.) no caulking was done. That means I have to do more work on bathroom before I can use it (yes, minor, but I shouldn't have to do more work after paying so much). Part of the job was also to replace the exhaust fan. I specifically mentioned to both project managers that I wanted a quiet fan installed (and agreed to the price increase since somehow it is a "premium" feature). As you might expect, the foreman didn't install a quiet fan and the one in there now sounds like a jet taking off. So I am having to install one myself; more work that I shouldn't have to do when paying someone to remodel my bathroom. The toilet that was installed was not the one chosen from
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
's showroom (one of the project managers), but yet a cheap model from Home Depot. So I didn't even get what I originally requested. Possibly most importantly, the contract for the work to be performed specifically states "Labor & Materials" for the price estimate, with the exception of tub and light bar. However, after much discussion and aggravation, this apparently means (after signing) that it is for the rough material (wiring, copper piping, etc.) not for the actual materials. This cost thousands of extra dollars that I had not planned for. And possibly the item that angered me the most, they had no respect for my house or property. When they left there were cigarette butts all over the place, including my garage. There were soda cans all over my garage. And the most disgusting of all, there was a half eaten burrito left on my lawn. Now while I did have other contractors working on drywall\paint for the rest of the house while
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
Homes was there, I can guarantee the cigarette butts and burritto were not attirbuted to the other contractors since, these appeared AFTER they had finished the drywall\paint over a week earlier.
In summary, never do business with
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. I don't know if this sort of performance is due to the persons performing the job, or
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
overall. But either way, I wouldn't risk it with repeat business.

work and that was done very carefully.

We strongly recommend. We are also happy with Angies list and found extremely helpfull.

"Went well overall. Took me to homes of people they had completed cabinet work for. Recommended several good tile, granite and paint sources. Introduced me to his cabinet maker. Recommend several design options and provided a cost estimate. They started quick and got done quickly. At times, I dropped by daily to see the progress that was made. Some of his workers stayed late to ensure the work was done.

One recommendation: if tile is done where they need to cut tile, ensure you identify a location for them to cut the tile. Tile dust can create mess.
"Pricing was very reasonable -- I priced against local contractors and those in Los
Camarillo Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. Cabinet work was done by one sub-contracted company which did a great job. Backsplash tile and floor tile was done by a another set of sub-contractors who also did an incredible job. The contractor (Ed) recommended making my family room into the dining room by extending the new tile from the kitchen into the old family room. Glad I took his advice -- makes my kitchen look larger. I had some reservation about using such large floor tiles but it looks great -- got great comments from friends and neighbors. They did an incredible job in my small 1/2 bath. Painter did a great job painting interior walls and ceiling. Sub-contractors were very trusting. I hid a key for them since I had to go to work. The work was done and nothing was missing. They did a great job cleaning things up. The workers were very conscientious when moving things, etc. I'll definitely use them again. I've recommend Designer Stone to my friends and neighbors -- some who've since used them."
"Aspen provided advice and suggestions to keep my costs low. Provided a detailed estimate of the work, discussed the timeline and was careful with keeping the dust & mess contained.

quickly made right once they were discovered. The job did run longer than expected but that was due to suppliers delays.

were very friendly yet professional. They took the time to draw out exactly what I wanted and to explain how their company would go about the job. I found the discussion with them very useful and informative. Their estimate was competitive. I was impressed with their straightforwardness. In the end I went with another company. It was a tough decision -- I wish I could have hired them both, but you know how it goes... I would definitely consider hiring A G A construction for future projects based on my interaction with

, my representative helped me choose the cabinet design. Someone else came out to measure and they gave me a computerized diagram so I could visualize what my kitchen would be like. There were 6 to 7 team members working for two months on the project and I am quite pleased with the way that it all turned out."
