Before installing that dream swimming pool, consider these factors to get the most splash for your buck.
Want to install a pool? We explore costs for three types of in-ground pools, plus an above-ground pool.
Building a swimming pool deck may seem daunting, but it can be a manageable DIY project with careful planning.
You will have to find out what your model costs new - looks like they run from about $400 to 1700 depending on size. IF yours is at the lower end, might be just as cheap to replace it, with parts and labor. If not low end, then repair probably works. Typical pricing of components that might have gone out - switch $80, timer/control unit $130, heating element $100 (probably most likely to have failed) - so if only one of these went out, figuring $100-200 labor, probably cheaper to fix it. I would contact your dealer for a better idea.
BTW - here is a Saunatec instruction on maintenance on the heating element and rocks, failure to follow can shorten heating element life, if that is what went out (and probably the simplest to replace) -

Pool And Spa Cleaning reviews in Yuma
As an example of how badly they planned our project, AWD rushed us to buy outdoor kitchen appliances to then have those appliances seat in our garage for about 1 year, until AWD were ready to install it. And yes, our appliance warranties were for the most part expired by the time we had them operating for the first time. Luckily we had room in our garage, but picture having large boxes in the garage for about 1 year.
We had to spend a significant amount of time to "manage" the crews doing the work, because there is no direct supervision by AWD. And had to be telling them over and over about defects. we've seen multiple times crews coming to work on or to fix items but then damaging other crew’s work, thereby generating more work. Making everyone waste time and effort. There are still several defects pending to be fixed: cracked concrete, plaster with white spots, the control equipment has never worked fully, we have to manually turn it on and off because the programming does not work, and other major issues now open for over two months. The pool equipment was installed over 6 months before it was started.
As another example of how this project was badly planned there were never construction plans up to scale for the kitchen area. We had been asking for the kitchen plan for more than 6-9 months. The result a bad installation: some drawers and a cabinet door in a corner section did not have sufficient clearance so we cannot fully open the cabinet. Because of the lack of communication between crews, counter structures were incorrectly built. They were improvising to fit the cabinetry and appliances as they were building the counters. A real nightmare.
And then to top it all, they wanted us to pay the last 10% before the pool was plastered, the pool equipment in operating condition, and the punch list addressed.
Poor planning No coordination among crews, resulting in inefficient work Little to no supervision by the builder Lousy customer service and communication
In our opinion, the owner is the most arrogant person we've ever worked with. This makes communications really difficult and makes one wonder who is the customer. There have been several times where we've just given up on having defects fixed because we were tired of having to deal with this person. In the end our pool and kitchen are usable but a lot of detailing leave us with a bad taste in our mouth. We’ve hired other services for our home improvement in our current and prior homes, and never ever had such a bad experience.
came out, provided the base data on the pool options and spent quite a bit of time talking with us about the fiberglass pools. He also asked what we didn't like about the vinyl liner which turned out to be an important question. We didn't like the vinyl "tile" boarder or the big thick white coping strip that is often very prominent in vinyl pools. The truth was we had an above ground pool and we wanted an in-ground pool that didn't cost 6 figures. Putting 6 figures in a hole in your backyard was not the direction we wanted to go but we also wanted to keep our kids and their friends close.
Ultimately we went with Pleasure because they were reasonable to deal with, they had a bunch of experience and we felt we could effectively work with them through a pretty major project. We were very pleased we did. is a rock star, all of the recommendations they provided were spot on and they worked with us to find a vinyl liner without seams that went over the steps with texture so the steps were not super slippery.
The folks at Pleasure, a family owned and operated shop, went above and beyond. My husband and I would hire them again in a heart beat. In fact, my husband is determined to get one of our friends to put in a pool with Pleasure within a year. Great experience, great people to work with and we are very pleased with our new pool.
