"We have an 8ish year old lab mix named
that we adopted a little over 2 years ago.
nipped at our A/C repair man when" he visited our house a few months ago. Although
was generally a good dog, even one instance of nipping/biting behavior was unacceptable and we wanted to address it. We called
and he said he could help us. When we described the situation, he said that
was overly protective of me, and she needed to learn that she didn't need to protect me.
said my husband and I needed to be the leaders, and she wouldn't feel like she needed to protect me/us. He came to our house to do the training, and he worked around our somewhat challenging schedules.
responded well to
, and with
's guidance we have definitely changed the dynamics. I don't believe we would have the same problem today with the nipping.
is now very obedient. She walked well on a leash before, but now she heels when walking. She sits and stays on command, and we can leave food in front of her and if we say "leave it" she'll leave it until we tell her she can have it. When people come to the door she still barks (which I like - I don't want her to stop that), but if I check the peephole and tell her to sit she'll stop barking and stay back and seated as I answer the door (although we're still working on the staying seated for a while while I talk to someone outside -- she wants to get up - but she's 80% of the way there). When
trained
, he was also training me and my husband. We have changed how we interact with the dog, and as a result the dog's behavior has changed. I even taught
one or two things that
didn't teach us -- if I can post a picture of
balancing treats on her head, I will (so far I haven't figured out how, though). I was concerned that having a dog with that level of obedience would mean the dog was fearful, but
seems more comfortable now than before. She doesn't always seem to enjoy the process of learning a new command but once she learns it she loves it -- she loves the attention. I think I've bonded more with the dog after working with her, too. One thing to know about having
come to a home is that there aren't as many distractions as there would be out in a more public/busier area. That was great for us at the beginning, but now we're ready to challenge
more. We're planning a couple more sessions with
, and we'll have those out in a public park.
has been very flexible about when and where we meet to do training. In short, I highly recommend
.

""My name is Autumn, like the season". This is Autumn's introduction at the beginning of every new class that she conducts. It fits her so perfectly" as she will exceed your expectations with flying colors! We were first introduced to
when we acquired our bullmastiff puppy and enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten. Since then, we have taken several classes with Autumn including a basic course, intermediate course, and Autumn's own creation "Charm School". Her approach is that from a dog's perspective and she teaches YOU how to train your dog. I have literally seen a dog come in the first day of class and hide under the table with no intent of interacting in the class. At the end of 6 weeks, this dog was totally transformed and was socializing, romping, and taking commands from his owner like he was a totally different dog. Yep, Autumn's classes have THAT effect! I can not say enough good things about Autumn. We (as well as our dog) look forward to every one of her classes. She makes the techniques
and demonstrates the patience to work with you and your dog during class! Her training simply WORKS. It is evident when you meet her that training dogs is not just her job, it is her passion. The dogs simply love her! Oh, and on a side note, she has a little comedian in her too. There are times I can't stop laughing.

There were 4 dogs all together for this "open

Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
.
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
lobbed ball after ball for the sheltie and
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
to fetch. The spaniel sometimes joined them in their chase to be the first to get the ball although she seemed more interested in checking out the toys that are strewn everywhere and showed a particular interest in rubber chickens. My Chihuahua sometimes ran after the pack but mostly cuddled up to anyone who seemed to have an inclination to offer a treat, typical behavior for him. My Chihuahua and I have been regulars at
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
for over a year, ever since he passed his temperament test. It involved

I was very pleased with the work they did with her. She is a shy dog but it was interfering with training and they got her to respond positively to the basic commands and to be more self confident at home as well as out in public. They are pricey but to me it was worth it. They sent videos twice a week and emails to keep me up to date with her training. She returned home a positively changed dog and she will be easier to continue training. Before I could hardly get her to come close to sit or down, now she is at my feet and without fear. I had never had a dog so inhibited in her actions and reactions. She came to me that way and I felt it was because the breeder probably never handled her as a puppy. Building her self confidence was essential and has been so helpful. Now it will be fun to take her out places and not have her
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
. They use positive training techniques which is what was necessary for her. I had been tying to train her myself with praise and rewards, but she really didn't respond much to either; it seemed that she was ADD. The use of the collar helps immensely because it keeps her focused on the training activity. She is only a year old but at least now she is off to a good start with her training and as she matures, she will only improve.

It was very interesting. Start - all the humans together telling her what we wanted for our dog. She let my kids talk first so me and my husband didn't put words in their mouths. Then she went to meet
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
who was in our bedroom. She told us before
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
could run away, saunter back and forth looking over her shoulder, rush this trainer to try to eat her, or take a few steps back obiently. We had no clue what to expect, but
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
started by backing away and rrrrin'g/like not quite a grow. Then she said I get it, and came forward a little bit and all by herself went into a down with a OOF release of energy. It was fascinating. She just gave all the (crap) she has been throwing at us up, said HELP ME it looked like.
Okay like so from there it was really good.
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
was let out of the room but she kept following Lyndy around like she had a t-bone steak in her pocket, but she never used treats.
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
just dug her. We practiced
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
home stuff about no longer on furniture, on a "Lazy Boy Chair" blankie on the floor instead. We practiced not letting her lunge out of the back door but not asking her to sit (hurts old dogs we learned) but WAIT but slilent. Beautiful. Then up down stairs now
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
is not allowed to run in front of us she stays behind.
Then out to the walk. Here's what all you need to learn. Short leash but relaxed. Very small tiny pop to put your own
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
back in place. With other folks and dogs and whatvers, don't wait until it becomes bad. Get in front of it before it happens, and then it is real easy.
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
totoally got it!
Back at home when we go to
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
's food or toys and get bit, now we know how to OWN. The house, the food, the toys, our kids, everything. Now
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
owns nothing, we just share it with her.
I would say the best thing is that
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
was always very nervous, kinda bristly. Now we know we have to be patinet and repeat a lot, but I have never seen my dog really relax in her life. And now she is doing so.
I hugged Lyndy and boo-
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
'd with tears at the end, I was so relieved. It was the best under $200 bucks I have ever spent in my life. And compared to the $2K I've spent for dog training in the past, what a huge waste.

My puppy is a rambunctious golden retriever, very sweet, high energy. His dad was determined to do all his training himself, and then he was transferred out of state. I felt totally outnumbered and out of control. I heard about
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
through a coworker, who actually brought his dog up to the office to show off his skills... I was so impressed, I called him the same day. I purchased the $1,400 package, where he come every week until he is trained, with options for refreshers if he backslides... At the end of the first session, I knew I had made the right decision. I could see exactly where he was going with my dog, and I could follow his lead easily. I could not believe how quickly my dog learned the ropes. He is much more pleasant to be around now, although he is still a work in progress. We have also taken advantage of the boarding that K-9 offers.
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
picks up and delivers, and because I purchased the package, he works with my dog while boarding at no additional fee. We came home from vacation to find our water obsessed dog would now

us around the pool... I couldn't be happier. I would recommend
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
's program to anyone who is struggling with a strong willed dog... I find my dog to be so much more enjoyable to be with, and I believe he is happier too.

She came out and took about an hour of bs talk I already knew. Tried to call her back, she answered one time and that was it. If she didn't want to mess with my guys she should of told us.

When we picked Indy up after his Boot Camp graduation, we were amazed at what he had learned. He is now more manageable at home and is comfortable being around other dogs and people. I was worried that his training would change his personality, but none of that changed!

Anytime I can’t find anything they always help me. The service and the grooming is great. They always went out of their way to give me coupons and deals when I came in also. The groomers were always very flexible and would let me leave the dogs with them for a few hours if I had other appointments and it wouldn’t cost me any extra.

We chose
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
as our trainer and couldn't be happier with that decision. In the 3 private sessions we've had thus far, we are already seeing amazing results. Our dogs are more responsive, and are quickly learning to
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
our voice commands. We had previously gone through a basics course with another trainer which I think helped our dogs excel and adapt to this training well.

I was not sure I was going to like the use of an e-collar, but
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
let us feel it on ourselves prior to making any decisions about signing up, so we knew what the dogs would experience. Our dogs are learning place, heel, come on command from a distance, waiting for their release word, and we are becoming more comfortable and confident with the training. Our dogs are getting ready to transition into group classes, which is a big step. I have no doubt with the private sessions we had with
Vail Dog Trainers Provider Name Locked
and the continued training we do at home, that our dogs will be ready to go anywhere with us.

I would recommend this training to anyone who wants to have a well trained canine, big or small. It's reassuring to know that we have control over our dogs in the event that we encounter someone who has an untrained pet. It's also allowing us the freedom to take our dogs more places with us and include them in family activities outside of the house.
