Veterinarian Reviews in Scottsdale

Holly, my 3 1/2 pound Yorkie has had many visits to the
over the years. She always came away from the experience very stressed. However, I don't think that Holly still realizes that she had her check-up/vaccination yesterday. Dr.
and his tech,
, arrived a couple minutes early, found a spot on the carpeting to sit and started their examination of Holly (weight, teeth, eyes, ears, heart, and body). She was having a great time going back and forth between all three of us. She was basking in the attention. When it came time for the shot, she didn't even flinch. If Holly could talk, she would tell you that she has found her new

They did outstanding diagnosis. Presented the options in a great communication style, visually and verbally.
They recommended actions and other specialists.
Just cannot say enough good things about the job they did....more /> Outstanding!

From the moment I called, I knew that
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
would get the finest care. The care that was demonstrated when I called and explained the situation illustrated the level of compassion and concern possessed by the entire practice.
If you love your pet and want him or her to receive the highest quality care for conditions that general veterinarians cannot treat, you must go to
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. Your pet's life may depend on it.
I had prior experience with AVS and with the other specialist in internal medicine, Dr.
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. Summer, my 10-year old dog had been prescribed too high a

of Deramaxx by a local veterinarian in November 2009. This medication is like Rimadyl and often prescribed without much thought to kidney damage. Summer went into acute renal failure within 10 days of the Deramaxx episode and by Christmas, the vet was saying that she would likely need to be euthanized.
We learned about AVS on the Internet, made an appointment for December 29, 2009 with Dr.
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. Not only did Summer not get euthanized in late 2009/early 2010. Summer lived a glorious life until

2011 when she had to be euthanized for an untreatable, cancerous growth in her

. Dr.

kept Summer well for 18 months when two other vets told me there were no options.
AVS and its entire staff is outstanding.

This animal hospital (or vet office) is one of the best. I brought my dog in for a check up and the very alert staff noticed a lump when they went to take her temperature.
Unfortunately, the lump was a tumor. The vet did tests and came back with a positive diagnosis of cancer. From this point, they were more than just helpful. They made all of the follow-up arrangements for me: an ultrasound with an outside company, referred me to veterinary oncologists that they said they would use for their own pets, as well as the referral to my dog's surgeon.
The last 5 weeks have been full of doctors visits to surgeons, oncologists, and radiation therapy specialists. I have not been back to
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
because the specialists have taken over. However, this did not stop Dr.
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
from calling me last week to check up on my dog and me. Just a random call to let us know she was thinking of us and has kept in touch with the specialists. If that kind of care and concern were offered to humans the world would be so much better for it. I cannot say enough how grateful I am to Dr.
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and the staff for their concern and support.

The vet picked the puppy up from the floor and plopped him down on the table. Then opened the vaccine and quickly in jetted the puppy without any treat or distraction. The vet did it in such an arrogant way that he went through the skin and the vaccine went out the other side of his skin onto the table. The vet opened the door to the back and told a tech he screwed that one up and he needed another. No apology to us or the puppy! No bedside manner what so ever!

Very professional and caring staff. Clearly knowlegable and interested in good pet care/management. Included follow up from the doctor and a nice card as well. Would definitely recommend. Prices for services are a bit pricey.

Our overall experience was excellent. I say this despite the fact that we lost our dog to kidney failure. EVERY veterinarian, technician, and receptionist we encountered was highly trained, compassionate and professional. We received the news from our regular veterinarian that our dog had sudden and unexplainable kidney failure on Christmas Eve. They advised us to transport him to

Emergency in
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, who provided him with excellent care. They permit you to visit your pet in the ICU, and even called us at 2 a.m. On Christmas morning with his lab results. If your pet is questionably ill, I would advise you seek a
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
to this clinic from your vet. The internal medicine specialty group is excellent. And unlike your regular vet, they can get lab results back in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this facility to all pet owners. I am also a healthcare provider, and I found this facility to be clean, unpretentious and efficient. When it came time to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Dr.

Sessink was remarkably compassionate and informative. This experience was top notch.

Based on some unusual skin symptoms conducive to rat poison ingestion, I took my dog in for an emergency evaluation. The staff was very careful and caring in the way they handled him to avoid causing further physical distress as they

blood and checked his vitals. When the blood lab results were returned, they were within normal ranges and not life threatening. It seems his symptoms were indicative of a possible allergic reaction to a possible insect bite, which in this case closely resembled rat poisoning (sudden bruising of the skin which could indicate hemorrhaging) . In the end, I merely needed to keep an eye on him and report any increase in problems over the next few days. I received a follow up call to check on his status as they always do following any problems with any of my pets. I have been taking my pets to this
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
facility for many years and as always was very impressed with their caring attitude toward my dog as well as their efficiency in handling this particular situation. I highly recommend this veterinary team for their skills and for their compassionate treatement of both pets and their owners.

I have been using
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for years but have seen a huge change since it was sold about 1.5 years ago. The priorities and customer service of the business have clearly changed. For this particular visit I had to wait an inordinately long time before I finally saw the vet. One dog needed a check-up and a renewal of an on-going prescription for the next year. I asked for an actual written prescription in order to be able to order the medication online for the next year. The vet grudgingly provided one, which turned out not to have any renewals on it. So I was not able to order another month's worth of medication when it needed and had to go back to
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
to buy their (far more expensive) exact same medication. When I asked for another written prescription that specified renewals for the entire year, they created one with ONE renewal. After much discussion they changed it to TWO. So I would have to go back every two months to get the written prescription, send it to the online pharmacy and wait for the medication to be sent. The other dog sometimes leaks a little urine at night so I asked the vet what they thought. He suggested around $1000 worth of tests and made me wait in the examination room while he discussed how to strong arm me into the expense with the office manager (since he left the door open I could hear the entire discussion). I waited another 45 minutes before the office manager finally choose to see me so I could conclude the visit, obtain the bill for the visit and get out of there. Review with another vet determined that a

urine test was needed to see if the dog had a bladder infection. Outside of Dr.
Scottsdale Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
(who is occassionally still there) I will not do further business with
