" knew exactly why the hand was caught and why. Turned out is was a small pin in the center which was dislodged. He was able to straighten" the hand; fix the pin and re-tune the clock so that the chimes went in the order they were supposed to happen [didn't know this was even possible] We would highly recommend him for future service. He knows his clock

"I was looking for someone that did house calls for repair of my . I went to Angie's list. After reading the reviews I knew I would contact" Bill to have him fix the clock. Bill arrived on time and had the tools needed to complete the job. He was professional and courteous. He removed all the parts. He cleaned and oiled them. I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone who needed their clock repaired. He spent about 2 hours. Thank you Bill for fixing my clock. I missed hearing the clock chime.

Clock Repair reviews in Scottsdale

brings quite a bit of experience and was very successful in working on our grandfather clock from that is 40+ years old. He is very professional and I felt safe with him working in my home. Expect to pay $250 - $300 per visit, more if parts need to be ordered.

Everyone has that one item that you want to see work again even though the cost of repair is more than the value of the item. In my case it is a cuckoo clock that belong to my mother given to her by her sister. Both now gone due to cancer. This cuckoo clock has seen 6 clock makers since my mother's passing(one even kept it for a whole year) .All ...More said the same. - They haven't made clock like this in over 30 years, we can fix the clock and the cuckoo but it will never play again. Even the owner of this establishment told me the same. Yet he took the time to really look at my clock and was able to do short of a miracle. Now my cuckoo clock function as it did when it was my mother's. And to add to this grandeur they were able to duplicate the pendulum and removed over 40 years of dirt and grime. My only negative is that he sells a number of beautiful vintage clocks and I would love to get one of the grandfather clocks before his sale ends. But who knows has been very kind to me lately.

We just moved into a new home and we carefully packed the weights and the pendulum. But when we put it back together in the new house the clock did not work.
My husband found and then I looked to see if he was on Angies list. Which he was and has a great rating.
We called and left a voice mail. He called us back ...More the day after. We set up an appointment and he said he would call prior to coming out which he did.
was on time and very professional. He answered all of our questions.
did a great job and I would hire him again.
Clock(s) are working great now.

After June visit clock immediately stopped working as soon as the tech left. He returned about 10 days later and said the pendulum needed repairing, he would call to get the part and let us know how much it would cost to fix and a time frame. After 7 weeks with no contact I called and a service call was scheduled to bring the pendulum back. There ...More had been no call from the tech and no estimate given, but I just wanted our pendulum back. The tech did not show up and called an hour after the time given and said the pendulum was not fixed and he needed more time. I had arranged to be home all afternoon! Thus began 2.5 months of calls to attempt to get our pendulum returned, a couple appointments with no show again. Finally on Nov 2, the tech kept our appointment, installed the pendulum and said it was fixed. Within 15 minutes of his leaving, the clock stopped again and has not worked since. It's almost humorous, if not so incredibly frustrating. don't know how these people stay in business. I just wanted others to know and stay away. By the way, it appears Mr. now lives in Florida and runs the business from there, his website is deliberately misleading. The service scheduler barely speaks English.

Here's my story...
I stopped at the and Watch Repair shop on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 to talk to someone about my grandfather clock. It had stopped running. I talked to , and we set up an appointment for him to come to my house the following Thursday (October 1) in the 8:30 to 9:30 time ...More frame to service the clock. Sometime close to 9:30 that day, I got a call from saying he was coming instead of . asked for directions to my house, and since he was still in Knoxville and I live in Oak Ridge, 9:30 didn't happen. arrived closer to 10:30. He serviced my clock and left it running. I was really happy! But about 3:30 that same afternoon, the middle chain and weight fell completely off the clock. There's quite the noise when a weight falls off a grandfather clock! I called immediately and told him what had happened. He told me he couldn't come back out that day but would call me back that evening and set up a time on either the next day or over the weekend to come back. Great!
But I got no call back either Friday, Saturday or Sunday (October 2, 3, or 4). So I called again on Monday, October 5. He said he was currently on a job but would call me back later in the day to set up an appointment. No call came. I called again on Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7. Same story - I'm on a job but will call you back later. Same story - no call.
On Tuesday, October 13, I went back to and Watch Repair shop. The plan was to talk to about what was happening. wasn't there, but was. We agreed that he would come back out on Monday, October 19 at 5:00 to work on the clock again. Monday, 5:00 - no ; 6:00 - no ; 7:00 - no . Why am I not surprised?!! When I got out of the shower sometime after 8:00, my husband said had called and said he thought he was supposed to come that day but wasn't really sure. He said he'd come "tomorrow" (that would be Tuesday, the 20th). My husband didn't agree to that.
I didn't call back until Monday, October 26. Yet again, he said he was on a job and would call me back later that day to set up a time to come back and work on my clock. And yet again, he did not call. Here's the bottom line: I'm tired of calling; they completely wore me out! Carpenter's Clock and Watch Repair was paid $152.95. The clock they serviced is not only NOT running, it is now in several pieces.

I had a 25 year old SEIKO clock that has a pendulum that quit swinging. The clock kept time, so there must be separate mechanisms. Since it still kept time, it couldn't be the battery. I noticed this shop on Rt 8 as I was driving along, so I took the clock the next time I planned to drive that way. It's a small store-front amid a small ...More plaza on the west side, near a small deli & a barber shop - it's easy to miss. In any event, the proprietor greeted me warmly as I began to explain my circumstances. The shop was small & had a lot of things going on. His enthusiasm dipped after he asked the brand of clock as he explained that SEIKO components are tough to obtain. He offered to diagnose the problem for a $40 fee, which would also include his time to for any needed parts, and also told me not to expect to hear anything for at least a month. I agreed to both stipulations & left the clock.
Fast forward about 6 weeks later & he called to tell me that he was able to fix it without needing any part; he dis-assembled it & serviced whatever needed to be serviced & the pendulum resumed it's swinging motion. He charged me an additional $100, for a total of $140. I have no prior clock repair experience so I have no frame of reference on that price point. But I'm satisfied since the clock is now functioning properly.
NOTE: Before going, be sure he's there as I suggest a call first as he does make house calls to service larger clocks that can't be brought in to the shop. He also has some antique clocks for-sale & a sign outside indicates that he also buys clocks.
- Alan F.

We bought a grandfather clock a few years ago at an estate sale for $400. When I called I explained that I did not want to invest a lot of money in a repair. I wanted to get a feel for whether it would even be worth it for him to come out. He was aggressive and I finally gave in.
What a mistake - he was pushy and verbose ...More about absolutely everything. He gave two estimates, one for $2900 and another for $850 if he did the bare minimum to get the clock working. I had to explain multiple times that I was not interested and eventually I just cut him off and basically kicked him out of my house, but not before he tried to extract another $300 to clean and oil a non-functioning clock.
I don't doubt that repairing grandfather clocks is complex and expensive. I just tried my best to be upfront about the fact that I couldn't afford an expensive repair and he refused to listen to me.
- Bridget O.

was punctual and very professional. He cleaned and serviced my clock in less than one hour. He explained what he did and showed me how to adjust the clock speed. He calibrated the clock as well. I am very pleased with the service he provided. He answered the phone the first time I called so he is easy to reach and responsive. ...More Service was scheduled one week from my initial contact with him.
