"We have an old house with old gutters that needed replacing badly. The installer who works for
was very experienced fast and efficient." Paid attention to detail. The work was done all in one day. The work looks good and we were told to call if there are any problems.

"We used this company based on the good reviews here on Angie's list. This was a huge mistake.
came over three times to review the repairs" we wanted done and estimate the cost. I went over in great detail the exact work that we wanted performed. Our plumbing leak was in concrete and would require a directional drilling engineer to place a new water line. Unique Const. hired a subcontractor to complete the plumbing that had to be connected to the new water line as well as the remodeling work connected to the plumbing work. The subcontractor said he was not given the instructions we gave to
and his work was not supervised. The work included finishing a utility room area to accommodate a new stackable washer and dryer. He never looked at the units to determine where the new water and electrical connections should be positioned to allow easy access and to allow for ease in connecting the units. They refused to relocate the vent for the dryer and also refused to reposition the plumbing connections to fit the washer as they will work although they are not in the ideal position. They are behind the units so you have to drag the washer/dryer unit out into the room to reach the water connections. He installed Pex water line under the house rather that the copper lines I requested. I've fixed two leaks myself and will call another plumber to replace the Pex with copper. We may have an underground leak in the new plumbing based on the water bill I got today. This may require the concrete they replaced to be dug up again to check the connections. Three of the doors installations are ok although one of the doors was not positioned the way we requested. The screen doors are not. After a couple of weeks one is not closing properly due to a shift in the hinges, on the other one the lock is not working properly. The laundry room remodel was a disaster. A wall he built to accommodate bi-fold doors was in the wrong position and had to be torn out and replaced.
didn't notice I had a dryer electrical plug that would no longer meet code so I had to hire an electrician to install a new one. After all the work was almost completed the subcontractor told us he was neither a licensed plumber or electrician. He was a hard worker but did not get the supervision he needed.

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Unless you are constructing a French Drain (dry well filled with rock or debris and no exit) style system you use a non perforated system.  Cut the plastic flush on the angle where it daylights if the slope is great enough,  If you need it river rock can be used to construct a dry riverbed type drainage ditch out from the daylighted drain.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?
?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

Prescott Valley Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
is very responsive, I called and the next day
Prescott Valley Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to view the job and provide a bid. The bid was fair and I liked the way that he was very direct and also offered alternatives for the downspouts.
His crew came out to install the job, they did a great job, cleaned up after themselves and the gutters look great. I would definitely recommend them.

The company did the work as described and did it well. On time, on budget (I guesstimated the amount), cleaned up. The only issue I had was no one explained to us that new wood would not take stain the same way old wood would. I know, obvious, right? I specifically asked if it would look okay and was told the stainers do a good job and will make it look good. Nope.

Buresch offered to refinish in an opaque stain and seemed genuinely concerned over the issue. We were having the house repainted and wanted to wait on colors, and by then it was late fall and then I just completely forgot to take him up on his offer. So, not fault of their own.

I had an appointment scheduled last Friday (Aug. 21st) @ 4 pm with
Prescott Valley Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
. Gentleman never showed up and I still have yet to receive a phone call to explain or offer an alternative date. Mind you this was also my son's 3rd birthday so I had scheduled my day around being home by 4 pm for this meeting. Conversely, I had another company, CNM Installations, come on Saturday (Aug. 15th) to also give me a quote. Just so happens we had a baby girl that morning. So, I texted

They called before they came out to let me know they were on the way, arrived on time, and immediately got to work. Did not try to sell me things I didn't need, but found out what the problems were and recommended appropriate fixes.
I was impressed with their work, and will definitely use them again.
