"The first job they did was done professionally and I was satisfied. After the job, I called and met with
for additional gutters and other" work..
said she needed to have her guys come over to look at the job. Never heard back from her. That was at least 2 weeks ago.

-Lew S.

"Terrible experience. Would never use him again! 1. Would say he would be on site at a certain time and would not show (several excuses EVERY TIME) 2." Job should have taken 1 visit, took 4 visits. Showed up one evening at 8pm at night, when it was dark, with no light 3. Called me for clarification, updated / changed pricing but wasn't clear on the phone as to $ amount of change 4. Quality of work C- best. Where wood connects it's not level

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Unless you are constructing a French Drain (dry well filled with rock or debris and no exit) style system you use a non perforated system.  Cut the plastic flush on the angle where it daylights if the slope is great enough,  If you need it river rock can be used to construct a dry riverbed type drainage ditch out from the daylighted drain.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

Gutter Installation reviews in Nogales

I called
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
on Monday, scheduled the estimate for Wednesday and my beautiful new gutters were completely installed on Thursday afternoon. The actual estimate was very detailed and even had a section where the gutter dimensions and patterns for my house were drawn out. Mr.
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
is very professional and friendly and was a pleasure to do business with; same goes for the guys who did the actual install. The gutters look really good on my house.
- Ellen B.

The work was not performed by this company. Instead, they subcontracted out to Lowes. 3 of the gutter areas leaked, and 1 of the leaks has caused damage to wood area underneath. Call to company, asking for repairs, have NOT been returned. I would not recommend this company. Instead, I would go directly to Lowes, and cut out this middle man. If company returns call, and returns to fix gutters, I will update this review.
- steve S.

Informed sales person that we would not be using their service. Was then quoted $3300 less (more than half the original quote).
Would never do business with a company that uses such price gouging tactics. How would you trust them to perform the work properly and stand behind their warranty?

was a great provider with whom to work . He worked around our schedule to come out and give us a quote. He gave honest and fair recommendations. He didn't try to up sell us and he even went above and beyond with what was quoted.
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
was able to schedule our repair within a couple of days. He was prompt and an efficient worker. Our gutters are really old and he did a great job considering their age. My husband was very pleased and he is hard to please! Thank you for the great work! We will use you again.

It went well. Now I'll see if the Leaf Filter guards work as advertised.
I saw the Leaf Filter product in a home show in Virginia and was impressed with the system of a very fine mesh screen above a perforated cover. I've had previous experience with other types of supposed guards and found them lacking. This one seemed to be a far superior design. I gave them my NJ address and arranged for an estimate when I was to be there several month later.
The rep (Pat) arrived on time and was very cordial and helpful. He measured and abbreviated the sales pitch (which could have taken much time) because I'd seen the product in the home show. I must admit I was somewhat taken aback when I saw the estimate for the entire house. It was way more than I had anticipated. After some more discussion he asked if we had certain problem areas that could be addressed, thereby reducing the cost because it might entail fewer corners. As it turns out I did have problem areas (the porch) and the gutter in the back over our second floor which were why I was looking for such a system. Additionally, they were the areas I could not easily reach with an extension ladder. Since these are straight gutters the price came down substantially. Doing something I don't usually do (wait and price check) I agreed.
I noted we'd be away from our home again and wanted the work done while I was here. The Rep said he may be able to schedule the work the next day! He confirmed they could do it and sure enough the man and woman crew arrived within the promised window the next day. The man did all the gutter work while the woman cut and assembled the Leaf Filter Guard filters.
Two things seemed different than what I thought the Rep said: First I thought the Leaf Filter Guards were factory assembled... they're not. Second, I thought they came in long sections of 12 to 18 feet. Not so, they are 5 ft sections which are butted against each other on top of the gutter. Maybe it was my misunderstanding. Or maybe I misinterpreted what the Rep said... either way I was somewhat surprised. But as the work progressed, and as I watched the pair worked diligently and professionally. While I could not see the upper gutter, I could watch the work on the porch gutters and was impressed at the care he used. He did clean the gutters, seal them and replace all the supports (with an integral component of their system). And the guards look good and tight.
First rain due tonight and I'll see if they work as they're supposed to. We're approaching the season when the oak trees drop some kind of seed things which have historically clogged our gutters/leaders... I'll be watching to see how this system really works. If it is as good as I hope, I may opt for doing the rest of the house. But rest assured I'll hold out for a better unit price.
Update 26 Aug 2015: The product works as advertised. Several rains, some very heavy, and no overflows. The gutters do not collect debris and flow very well without any work on my part. Additionally, I don't see stuff collecting on top of the screen meaning water continues to flow into the gutter, not over it. So far so good. I'll see now what happens with the fall leaves. I'm encouraged. And frankly impressed.

I cannot say enough about
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his company. From
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
to the office staff to the work crew...all were wonderful to deal with. First and foremost,
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to assess our 93 year old home and addressed all of our questions and concerns with patience and professionalism. As this was a newly purchased home in need of a lot of TLC, we had numerous issues to address before we could even schedule
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
's crew and he was extremely patient with us as was the office staff. On installation day, the crew was punctual, thorough, and courteous. Again, they were very patient addressing any of our questions and concerns and asked numerous questions to clarify that they understood exactly what we wanted. The crew was so efficient I hardly knew they were here. They were here a total of three days and each day they arrived on time and left the place entirely cleaned up and informed me of what was done and what they would be doing the next day. I would recommend
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
to anyone who needed new gutters without hesitation!

We initially called
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
Construction to fix some problems with our gutters. They offered a $749 deal to replace 300 feet of gutter through Angie’s List. When
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to discuss the project he said the gutters were fine and they just needed to be re-aligned. He managed to upsell us into painting the house and replacing some of the bad siding. It seemed like a good deal since he already had our $795 and his quote for the additional work was close to another one we got. When he quoted the work I asked him to double check the amount of bad siding because I didn’t want any expensive surprises. During the project he charged us an additional $1300 for siding. Surprise!
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
was never present while the work was being done, the subcontractors he used cut every corner they could. They added
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
hangers to the gutters, but they never re-aligned them. I can tell because they painted over the leaves & pines straw that were lodged between the gutter and the house. The foreman of the crew told me that they
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
’t move the gutters because the last time they did it caused them a lot of problems. The gutters still overflow in the exact same places they were before we did any work. I’ve been calling and emailing
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
Construction for over a month and there has been no resolution. I have not gotten a response to my last two emails. In addition there are still spots they didn’t paint and some of the patches they applied to the siding have fallen off. They also did a really sloppy job applying caulk around the new flashing. It is hanging down in globs and uneven. I asked
Nogales Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
and the foreman if they could fix this and they both said they needed a thick bead to seal it properly. Thick is not the same as sloppy. If they had taken 5 minutes to smooth it out before painting over it I would not have to hire someone else to fix the mess they made. They also left chunks of wood, nails and broken tools in the yard. They also broke the bathroom window. They said they weren't going to fix it because there was a crack in it already. There was a small crack in the corner that had been epoxied and survived 5 years of storms and a roof replacement. I can see daylight coming in above some of the siding that was replaced on the garage. For the amount of money we spent I really expected a professional job.

- Meredith B.

Could not be happier. Painless process working with this contractor due to excellent communication and their attention keeping up on the paperwork so cost was transparent thru out the job.
