"Had a spinal fusion in August of 2014 and have not walked without assistance since. I now have nerve damage to the peroneal nerve that causes foot drop, numbness" and tingling of the foot and lower leg (right side), and issues with bowel control. I would not recommend this physician to anyone. I am searching for a neurosurgeon to try to repair the damage, but may be crippled the rest of my life because of this surgeon. I am only 58.

"I have been going to him for about fifteen yes. I was a runner and had knee problems. He kept me going. He is very knowledgeable. He was able to tell me exactly" what was wrong with my knee. He really seemed to know what he was doing. He told me what my options were and he never pushed me. I really appreciated the fact that he was honest to me. He is very personable and has a great bedside manner. When some of the staff in the hospital did some incorrect things for my care, he took care of everything. I felt that he was my advocate and was interested in my healthcare.

Sounds like you should be pursuing a disability claim.  Also, you could speak to your previous doctor frankly about your concerns.
Have they made orthotics for your shoes that distribute your weight better?

Whoops - I just realized that you may have been looking for Angie's List information on providers outside your home market. To see information on providers that aren't in your home Angie's List chapter, you can elect to pay a small addditional fee (generally about $15 to $20) to add another city's Angie's List to your existing memember.

This is James W. with Member Care. Thanks for posting your question.

It looks like when you signed up online on 8/5/2014, that you accidentally joined our greater Portland chapter instead of our Salem/Corvallis chapter that your zip code falls under. I have transferred your subscription to that chapter, so you will now have access to the correct area.

I hope this information helps! Please let me know if I can assist further. You can respond to this thread or submit a new Answers post. You can also reach us at 1-866-783-2980. We're open weekdays from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm and Saturdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ET.

Orthopedic Care reviews in Hereford

I have found them very good; their physical therapy group is very good, and I not only progressed with it, but enjoyed it, but you have to be using a doc from their group to use the PT services. I have had 7 surgeries total with their docs and have always been satisfied with their bedside manners and results; I've been treated very well by their other employees every time!
- Robert H.

There was very short waiting time once in the office. Staff is wonderful and the physicians are super. We have much confidence in this practice, and would highly recommend.

was friendly and didn't make me feel rushed. He ordered PT 3x week for 4 weeks, which is in the same building, they worked around my crazy work schedule and

was awesome, as were all others who work there. My only complaint was the wait time for my follow up visit to see Dr.

at the

office, an hour.

I saw the PA and he began treatment with medications, explained what would come next if this didn't work. Medications worked well, went for follow up and had MRI to determine extent of damage. PA provided options and consequences. Very informative, he listened, advised but didn't push. Since it was a surgeon's office, I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't jump right to surgery!
- Carolyn P.

He's an excellent surgeon. He thoroughly explains things so you can understand what options and treatment is best for you. I've been going to him for over 10 years and will continue with him even after I move out of state.
- Gertrude B.

He's a total professional, very good people skills, the staff is amazingly friendly, patient and knowledgable and the office is clean and has an overall positive, upbeat feel to it. I would recommend him (and the Bone & Joint Clinic) without hesitation.

My muscle tear was misdiagnosed by this doctor. I had chronic pain, inflammation and soreness in outer muscle above my knee. I suspected it was a muscle tear from overuse and told the doctor this. I could feel a recognizably lumpy spot in my muscle where the pain was. Dr. McNamera told me that was an unusual spot to have an injury and it didn't make sense why I was having pain there. He had x-rays taken, gave me a steroid shot, had me take antinflamitories and then sent me to an MRI clinic for imaging. He also prescribed me a

stabilizer knee brace that was of no help. When test results were inconclusive, he directed me to have physical therapy for IT band tightness, which, I suspected was not the cause. After I completed physical therapy sessions I returned to tell him that my IT band had no correlation to the pain & inflammation I sporadically experienced in my muscle. Dr. McNamera then offered exploratory surgery as my next option, which I declined. I chose to get a second opinion from a specialist at another office. On my first visit to the new doctor, he felt the trouble spot with his hands and immediately recognized that there was an obvious defect. He said that it was consistent with a muscle tear and was at the exact spot where the muscle meets the tendon, which is where muscle fibers tear away from. The body slowly heals this kind of tear on its own over a long period of time. No treatment necessary. There was no hesitation and no confusion from this doctor. I am perplexed why Dr.
Hereford Orthopedic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
, an experienced specialist at a leading orthopedic clinic, did not recognize such an obvious injury. An injury I, myself, had assumed the correct diagnosis from the get-go and told him this on my first visit. I am further troubled by all the expensive testing he requested and suggestion of exploratory surgery.
- Allison S.

Terrible experience......might be ok if you have an obvious problem like a broken leg or ankle. Turns out that I had a pinched nerve in my spinal cord.....he was not qualified to treat this type of injury even though I kept explaining my symptoms. I ended up seeing a neurologist who found the problem right away after the first diagnostic test. Dr
Hereford Orthopedic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
put me through a gambit of tests that would have never found this...he is an orthopedic doc....just wasted a huge amount of my time and money. I am a senior citizen/retiree and it was a very expensive ordeal for me. I have seen another prominent orthopedic surgeon in the

area for other orthopedic injuries and he will tell you if he cannot help you with your problem, which is what a good doctor SHOULD DO!
