"From the initial contact, initial estimate, and initial installation everything was great. Except for miscommunication for the installation time (originally I expected" 9 AM, they came at 2 PM), and one of the crew leaving his very expensive Milwaukee driver, the first installation was fine. There was a couple problems in that two corners, one with a drip, and the other missing over 50% of the water from the front roofline resulting in the same
we were trying to eliminate. I liked the work overall, and the courtesy and professional demeanor of the original installers, so when my wife asked to have that final line installed, I requested a re-quote to add. It was provided to me in a reasonably timely manner, although higher in price than I expected, based on original work, so I asked for a better price. He accommodated me with the stipulation that the timing be based on their presence near my home. The appointment was set for the second installation, but the installers never showed up. It was raining that day, and I understand calling the job on account of rain, but received no call. Having informed the company in no uncertain terms that this is unacceptable to not notify the clients, they apologized and rescheduled for today (Saturday, September 10, 2015). It is now almost 5:30 PM. They confirmed the installation for today by phone yesterday or the day before, but not a time. This is the second no-show without notice. Granted it is very hot today (~100 degrees), and if they are called on account of excessive heat, I can accept that. What I cannot tolerate is total incompetence by the management of this company to keep their clients informed. It seems abundantly clear that they abhor repeat business. IF they decide to do the remainder of the job, I am going to demand the current payment be reduced by 75% or I will not have it done. However they still need to correct the issues, or I will be demanding a full refund of the original $750 job, and if they refuse to provide it, I will be forced to take them to small claims court. In addition, I will have to contract with another company to repair their errors, and I will have to go after
for that cost as well. They do not respond to calls very well. They tend to be indignant with the client when they are 100% in the wrong and not showing up or calling to advise the conditions are not safe or healthy or whatever the heck the reason is. Note: the amount shown is for both jobs, the original plus the add-on, and that sum is rounded up to the thousand
. C on quality due to totally missing the front corner, and missing part of the rear corner in addition to the incompetence factor - that is quality is not just the workmanship, but customer service as well. Personally, I am beginning to be sorry I even heard of this company, much less decided to do business with them in the first place. First job: ~ $750 paid Second job: $200 - work not executed, two missed appointments without notice.

"From the time we first visited
in his
, MO showroom until the time we had him measure our home and present his bid," we knew we picked the right company for our project. After dealing with pushy sales people from other siding companies who insisted on making my wife and me sit through a two hour dog and pony show, it was a real pleasure dealing directly with the owner. It's truly a mom and pop company...mom (
's wife) came along to our house and helped take measurements. Aside from patiently answering all of our questions, and showing many samples of the products he offers,
did something nobody else did...he took us to a current job site not far from his showroom so we could meet his crew, see them in action and see for ourselves how each piece of steel siding is custom made on site and attached seamlessly to the house. Very impressive! His web site states "When I tell you that my installers are, on average, 20% SLOWER than average, you can bet that means they slowed down to do the job right," and he was right. We could tell that the crew was highly skilled and didn't rush anything. They were true craftsmen who took pride in their work and did an outstanding job on our house. They had originally estimated it would take nearly three weeks for our whole project, but working six days a week, they were able to finish ahead of that schedule. We were most impressed that
, the team leader, kept us up to date each day after he and the crew finished (working till nearly dark each day) and how they cleaned up each and every day before leaving. We never had to worry about stepping around trash and debris. We also had several visits and phone calls during the project from both
, and his son-in-law
, who helps run the family business, always keeping us updated on the next steps and making sure we were happy so far. But the best part is, now that the project is complete, we feel like we're living in a brand new, maintenance-free home, and have received many compliments from neighbors and friends. With the style of siding we chose, it has the look and feel of freshly painted wood...right down to the ingrained texture of each custom made piece. we've already noticed how much quieter it is inside, and can't wait for the dead of winter and the effect all of the new insulation and steel siding will have on our heating bill. And thanks to the gutter cover, no more climbing the ladder this fall... I've cleaned out my last gunk-filled gutter. If you want a top-quality professional steel seamless siding job, or new windows and gutters, at a very good price, we highly recommend you call
. You will be very glad you did!

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Unless you are constructing a French Drain (dry well filled with rock or debris and no exit) style system you use a non perforated system.  Cut the plastic flush on the angle where it daylights if the slope is great enough,  If you need it river rock can be used to construct a dry riverbed type drainage ditch out from the daylighted drain.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

Gutter Installation reviews in Mountain Home

The workers were very polite, meticulous , and professional. The job was done quickly. They were on time and worked diligently. They were very neat. I am very pleased with the results, and would recommend them wholeheartedly
- Denise R.

Bought the big deal. Scheduled the work. They came and did the work. It was quite painless.
The roof and gutters look good. There were only very small amounts of debris left around the house from the gutters that were not picked up by the workers before they left.
- Stephen W.

They could not provide. They do not have email capabilities, and extremely poor communications. Can't even get an estimate. Whoever answers the phone was rather rude. Go somewhere else where your business will be appreciated.

The Estimator arrived promptly and was extremely professional. All requests for updates were answered promptly, call were returned promptly. Installation was somewhat delayed because everyone here is preparing for

?o and their schedule was booked for about 6 weeks. We waited and we are very glad we did because the installers were the best! They encountered some unexpected difficulties and had to alter the installation plan. They had to reinforce the mounting locations at the barn with 4x4's. They did a beautiful job and never even suggested a price increase from the original quote! The work was clean, they left no debris, and I would highly recommend these folks.

PERFECTLY DONE!!! Now I understand why this company has excellent reviews. Either call ONLY

is easy to deal with, best price, and a problem solver. Installed a diverter to solve a chronic problem. Sealed up siding to extend the life of my old siding.
He has my business when I'm ready for new siding. Definitely saving to "my favorites".

provider said that the work as described in the offer I signed up for, and paid in advance for , did not require him to provide the hooks to secure the gutters to the roof ,nor the fittings needed to attach the new gutters to old ones. He required me to pay an additional $90.00 to do the job!!

Quoted a couple of vendors and

was the first to come in and provide recommendations for improvements rather then just give me a price for replacement. He also performs all of his own work.
He was timely, professional and communicated very well.

was very nice, professional and not at all pushy when he came out give us a quote. Scheduling was easy and communication was good throughout the whole process. The day of installation, the crew showed up on time and got the job done including an unexpected miter replacement for no extra charge. The lead crew member was professional, but there was a lot of smoking on the job which was surprising and one of the crew members made us aware of how much replacing the miter "sucked". Otherwise, we had an overall good experience from start to finish and are pleased with the final product.
