"On the initial installation they forgot to put on the leafguards. I only knew this when my painter noticed a couple. Weeks later. If he had not been here it would have been sometime" before I was aware of no leafguards. A huge oversight.

"We went with
Construction because I knew a little about the people and we were attempting to put a roof on our home which had estimates in excess of $40,000" from GAF Master Certified companies. While we were reeling from the cost of the shingles in the first place ($189/square) - we knew that they would be perfect on our home and would outlast our lifetimes. No regrets there.
went out of their way to be sure my skylights were replaced and reset properly, gave me copper gutter valleys, fixed several roof areas, cut a ridge vent, and even tried to make our old gutters work (the only disaster in this project). I had 14 people on the job site the day of the roofing and these folks did a fantastic job. It was very expensive ($21,000), but the roof will last forever and I'll get every dime back out of it should I need to sell. My only regret was letting them leave the old gutters up. It made for a bad installation in a couple of areas and left the whole house looking bad when they finished. We pulled down the old gutters, called
, and had LeafGuard put up within the month. House looks fantastic. I recommend
without hesitation.

"The service was fine. Two guys came out and it took one day to complete the job. I would say they have good prices, a nice looking product and did a great job. They were very responsive every time I called.

Gutter Repair & Replacement

Your gutters’ downspouts perform a critical task in keeping your home dry. So why aren't they working? One highly rated provider shares four possible reasons.

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?
?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

fashion. Due to the rain there was a slight delay in starting the job but once started they completed all the work in a timely fashion. They sealed all the cracks and spacing around windows and workwork. Everything was removed and cleared after the job was completed. Would use again and would recommend to others.

They came to clean the gutters on our Colonial and put covers on. Nick gave me a quote and explained to me the process. Then the day they did the work they found that the original gutter installers did a half...way job on fastening the gutters to the house! So with out charging me more they fixed the issue. These guys are the real deal. They Cleaned up and where very nice

I was in the
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
for some chimney repair and had been shopping pretty hard, I was also looking to get my roof done since the chimney repair was going to damage a lot of my roof being rebuilt. I had planned to do the gutters myself, but was asking each contractor for a quote just so I'd have it.

I received lots of quote, and
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
came in about 30% higher than some of the others but he was also the only "full service" contractor I had spoken to. Everyone else either did roofs or chimneys, not both. I asked
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
why he was so much more expensive because I like to give contractors a
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
to explain their pricing, justify it, and make sure I'm comparing to bids "apples to apples" so to speak.

After listening to
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
explain why his bid was higher and actually going and looking at job's he did as well as jobs some of the other contractors did, I quickly saw that the extra money was for the quality of service
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
provided. A few examples include: soldering of all flashing joints for a permanent solution versus caulking which can wear out and needs maintained; a different type of crown on the chimney (called a
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
crown); forming flashings in such a way that water runs into gutters and not down chimney face; installing a ridge behind the chimney to prevent water buildup behind it, and many other small details.

When I asked other contractors about these types of things, they all agreed that they are good things and said they could do them (for more money). What bothered me about this was that they didn't ever mention these items themselves. It was as if they would prefer to just "get the job" and didn't care whether it was done the best it could be or not.
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
, on the other hand, didn't want to the job if he wasn't doing it the best.

In the end I went with
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
. Both his roofing and chimney crew were very professional and courteous. They brought dump trucks with them each day to the house and loaded their debris so that I didn't have an ugly dumpster sitting at my home all week. Everything was done with care and I honestly never found a single roofing nail on the ground after they left.

His roofing crew did leave a little bit of material and scrap at my house when they were done, but as soon as I mentioned it to
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
he brought his crew back out to retrieve them and apologized for the oversight.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the jobs
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
completed for me and would definitely recommend him.

Everything went very well. The estimator arrived at the scheduled time and was very informative. The estimate was among the lowest I received for the work. We scheduled the removal of the old gutters separately ahead of a painter. They returned after the painter was done and installed the new gutters in one day. They were always responsive and punctual. We are very pleased with the work that they have done.

We told the provider we needed a new roof. Upon inspection, he suggested a few low-cost maintenance activities that would prolong the life of our current roof. What could have been a $6K bill was instead under $500. He presented the facts, offered multiple solutions, the pros and cons of each, and then a recommendation. He allowed us to make the decision. No pressure. Very personal, high touch, values orientated approach. Highly recommended. Responsive, quality service. High integrity company.

I purchased the four-hour
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
special because I needed two tasks to be completed.

King confirmed the appointment.
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
arrived as scheduled and got right to work. He quickly replaced the kitchen faucet. Then painted the soffit and fascia with time to spare. So I asked him to get the hardware he needed and secure a porch railing. Since he worked more than four hours and purchased some parts, the total amount was higher than the special. He accomplished more than I expected and did excellent work at a reasonable price. I recommended
Mountain Home Gutter Repair And Installation Companies Provider Name Locked
to my neighbor and would hire

again.
