"I have to hand it to
- they worked with me to design a fence that the Developer for our community would approve, which was not an easy task." The owner -
and the office manager, Amber
were extremely flexible and responsive as we faced one challenge after another. This is a great company - and they were a pleasure to work with!

"They provided the estimate the same day they came by to review the work site. They had good recommendations that we used and the project turned out great. A couple" of neighbors have remarked about how nice the railing is on the new steps. Everything went very good with the project.

#AskAngie: Tips for Dealing with Flaky Contractors

Dear Angie: I gave a fencing contractor a $1,300 deposit on a $2,600 job. Months after we signed a contract, no work has been done. What should I do?

I would say depends on several things:

1) what % of the job is $400 ?

2) how good is the warranty - against all types of failure, or what - cedar fences usually fail in one of two ways - tornado/hurricane/waves/flood/car collision takes them out, or the posts (if not treated timber) rot out. The fence itself will change color and get fuzzy as it weathers, but should last 15-20 years in most areas.

3) generally, a fence is not something you would pay for a warranty on - if properly put up and with concreted-in copper chromate or copper napthalate treated posts (the green preservative) should last a long time and not need warranty work basically till the fasteners fail or the fence slat boards split too badly.

4) if I was going to spend extra money on a wood fence, it would be for a good quality penetrating sealer, not steel posts.

I am amazed about the horrible product I received from this company. Whatever type of wood and nails they are using are completely inadequate because boards and now two complete panels just fall off with no contact. After numerous revisits by the company (after approx 2 months each time) to replace boards I noticed two complete panels down on the ground on Monday January 19th. I called the company to come out and was told someone would come out "in a couple of days". Five days later and no visit or phone call I replaced the panels myself. Very poor quality product and customer service. I regret the $2500 I spent with them.

This company did a wonderful job, from start to finish. They did what they had promised, on time, and went the extra mile to make sure I was pleased. The attention to every detail is apparent in the finished product. In addition, I got a call from the owner 2 weeks later to make sure all was okay.

This was the second time I have used this company. When we had high winds, 4 sections of fence fell over. I had gotten a couple of estimates and
Mena Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was very fair with price. The work was done quickly, crew was polite and cleaned everything up afterwards. I used them on a rental property last year as well to replace a chain link fence going around the front yard with a rolling gate across the driveway. About 6 months later, I noticed the rolling gate was a bit hard to open. They came right out and fixed it for free even though it looked like my tenant may have been the one who accidentally damaged it by bumping it with his car. I appreciate how fair and honest this company is and will definitely use them for any fencing needs in the future.

Came to give a bid on 130 ft of wooden fence. Bill said they deliver the bid via email. Bid didn't come. I called the next day and after two tries to email, bid finally arrived. It was the highest of all the bidders but I thought based on their reputation and pics on the website that I would go ahead and let them do the work. So I asked the woman who answered the phone if she would inquire if they could begin the work on a specific day. She said she'd pass the question along to Bill. I never heard from Bill until I called back at 4:55 p.m. on Friday. He said he left a message on a phone for me that they couldn't do the work for another three weeks. Thinking he might have left a message on my home phone (I was on the cell) I went home and checked. No message. Most expensive...can't follow thru on bids, and can't get emails or phone numbers correct. That's it for me. They apparently have way to much work or they consider my $4,500 dollars not enough for their attention.

was very responsive to request for quote and took the time to explain everything that would be done. He showed up on time both days to do the work. He tore down the existing fence and hauled it away. On the second day put up the rails and pickets. Worked diligently and cleaned up after himself. The fence looks great!

We got about 5 quotes and they were all pretty much around the same price. We decided to go with
Mena Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
because he made us feel the most comfortable with his knowledge and his timeline. We gave him our down payment once we agreed and then the rest after installation. Once we did that, he pulled the necessary permits and we were ready to go. His guys came in and did a great job - we barely even noticed they were here. They took down the old fence and put up our new one in about 2 days. Our fence came out great.

is very attentive and trustworthy - i would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs a fence.

hadnt anticipated the type of bolts I had in gate so he had to go locate some at no extra cost to me ! Job was completed as expected. He even said if the dog cracked one of the new slats he would come replace for no charge. One thing I wish he would have done was mentioned the mud on the metal frame and either washed off or pointed out to me so I could have cleaned frame prior to the install of the slats. Clean-up can still be done but would have liked to have done while open and able to have gotten in all corners.

ordered the gates and asked for partial payment of $ 4613.27 on 2/21/2014. The gates were delivered and
Mena Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
installed them. I paid the balance on the bill. Within a month, one of the operators fell off. The weld did not hold. He came back and re-welded it. This happened several times over the next few months.. He finally explained he did not have big enough
Mena Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
and brought someone else out to re-weld the operators back on. I contacted him in December that the gate was not closing properly, leaving a space of 6" to 3'. It never seemed to close the same. He came out and said the arm was damaged and he would need to replace the "limiter" But he never came back. He did not respond to phone calls or text messages. Then one of the arms fell off AGAIN. He still did not respond to any calls or texts. We contacted the manufacturer who gave us a name of someone who could repair our gate properly. When he came out. he was very concerned. ALL the welds were bad. The gate could have fallen on a child or car. The gates were hung incorrectly and not level. He took pictures of all the bad welds and then re-welded every weld on the gate. Then he started on the electronics. All the wires were exposed and either poorly or incorrectly installed. Once again he took pictures before he began his repairs. I have had to pay over $2400.00 for the repairs that were "under warranty" I even had to purchase a new operator arm for one side. When I went to purchase it, I was told that
Mena Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
was banned from buying any of their products due to his poor installations. They have had multiple complaints and demands for warranty work from his clients.
When I showed the manufacturer my original bill, he said that I had paid for Lift-Master gate operators but that
Mena Fence Installers Provider Name Locked
had installed Estate Swing operators. That is fraud. He never told me I was not getting Lift-Master operators.
Multiple times I asked him for the warranty cards and information regarding the electronics of the gate. I asked for the install paperwork and the "how to" information for setting the remotes and keypad numbers for the gate. He emailed me the basic instructions saying there was no paperwork.
We are furious with the whole situation. I feel he should be made to cover the cost of our repairs at the very least.
