"Called ahead to give me 2 hour window of time. Then called when on way (20 minutes before). Fixed the old Amana washing machine, so that the water flow (which was barely running)" was not constricted by putting in a new valve in the machine itself. Excellent work, very professional. Very satisfied.

"Our refrigerator suddenly died on Thursday night and we called our home warranty company.. They couldn't find anyone to come out for 3 days! Not good for melting ice & defrosting" food. My husband actually found him on Yelp and called on Friday morning about 11 am. He said he's come out at the end of the day, sometime between 4 & 7 pm. His name is Vladi, and he let us know his status as he got closer to arriving. We were so nervous he wouldn't show up, but he arrived about 4:30, quickly diagnosed our problem, and fixed the fridge!! He is amazing -- funny, nice, and I'm sharing his contact info with all my friends! He even talked to the people at the home warranty company for us! He is a licensed large appliance repairman, and I highly recommend him!

"We were very pleased with the service. We called on Thursday night and a tech was able to come out the next morning (Friday). He was on time, polite, & very knowledgeable about" the refrigerator. The price seemed fair and he replaced the part that was the culprit for the issue. He also followed up on Monday to confirm that it was still working properly. We would definitely use this repair service again if needed.

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

I have never seen one of this type that does not exit the house. You would not want the grease dumping into your basement, even with a filter it will happen.

The greater part of your job will be carpentry as if there is a wall behind the stove a hole will have to be cut up through the basement into the wall up to the stove. Unless it is one of the stoves that allows for it to fit inside a cabinet below. To answer correctly most here would be a picture of where this project is being done. I have done motorized ones that extend up out of the counter when in use and then retract. Those exit through the cabinet and require the cook top is to the front of the counter and not a drop in one

As an added note these tend to be better as they do not pull the heat away from the stove top when in use as much as the ones flush with the stove. I have install quite a few and happen to have an Amana cook top with built in down draft and I have to shut it of to get water to boil on the back burners.

A carpenter will know what can be cut and what not in the basement, a sheet metal contractor should know as well but at the other end for the finish by the stove they might not. Most carpenters that do kitchens have installed the minimal amount of duct work for this. They just have to be carefull with the number of ellbows and the lenght of the duct.

They were very upfront with the costs. They had the part they needed in their truck so the service was quick. They also offered to check other plumbing because the first hour is a set charge and they completed their requested job earlier than the first hour.

Farmington Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
called early this morning to arrange a time for the service. He said he would be here between 10 and noon. He called a few minutes before noon to say he was running late. I appreciated the call. He arrived by 12:15.
He quickly got to work trying to diagnose the problem. After determining that my high temperature thermostat was not working, he called DCS to make sure there was not something else that might be going on, since my fan was still working. When they assured him that there wasn't he checked his van for the part and replaced it.

was professional. The total cost of the repair was $210 plus tax. This included the part and service.

We scheduled an appoint for Friday, October 10, 2014, a week and a half in advance. We were given the 1-5 time slot. My husband took 1/2 a vacation day to wait for the repair man. They never showed up or called. I had even called that morning to provide an additional contact number and confirm the appointment. When I called (about 5:15 p.m.) to find out what was going on the only thing the rep could tell me was that there was no tech on the route that day, whatever that means. They weren't very apologetic regarding the no show and offered to reschedule for Monday. If they could have done better than a 4 hour window I may have considered it but a 4 hour window is a big block of time and neither of us could the additional time off right away. Though I have no experience with their actual repair ability, I would not use
Farmington Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
again because they are unreliable and have little respect for their customers' time.
