"First, they are more expensive than any of the other AFN internet providers. Exact same internet, but cheaper from all three of the other suppliers. Four to five" dollars per month difference really starts to add up over time—especially when it is the exact same internet service. Secondly, they list 24/7 support on their web site, but it just doesn't happen. Once, I purchased a new modem late friday. They turned off my old modem, but forgot to start the new modem. By the time I realized what they had done, they were closed. I tried email. I tried calling. No response. Never. Not even after they opened the following week. I finally called them about noon on Monday since they weren't getting back to me. I even said something about it only to get the impression that they don't check the Support phone calls or emails other than occasionally (as in not for days). This was just one of several similar experiences. Just two months ago they said they were sending someone out to my residence to check my service. No one ever showed up. Also, checking the speed of the service, I never have had the full speed they advertise. Two months ago I purchased a new modem from them which was supposed to help. While it is less likely to drop the connection, the speed still isn't what they advertise. I then upgraded to a faster service. The service is $11 more per month. I only had the faster service for less than 1/4th of the month (7 of 31 days) that first month. So, you would think the additional charge would be a little less than 1/4th of the additional $11. No, they charged an extra $10.38. I complained. They adjusted the charges, but still overcharged. Bought a new house last month. I went with a different AFN provider, not AshlandHomeNet. Same internet service. $5.00 per month less.

"I just got my first bill from them. There is a charge for xfinity voice for home phone, which I did not have and did not need because I already have a landline with" another phone company. I called them regarding this issue and spoke with a representative on the phone. She told me it is part of what I get charged for for having xfinity internet. I advised her I have two separate charges and asked her if she would be taking off the charge for the phone and she said no because it was part of the internet charge, which is not true. The problem is still unresolved. The technician who installed the system showed up an hour late and he was on the cell phone about 90% of the time. It took him two hours to complete the installation and when I finally told him he was taking too long as I had other appointments and he then finished in five minutes. The customer service representative on the phone was very unprofessional and unhelpful, and furthermore lied to me saying that the charge is "just how it is" with the charge for both phone and internet.

The most hopeless technical organization imaginable. Nothing is done right the first time, nobody takes responsibility, there is no turn over for a new technician so every support person comes in without any knowledge of what happen previously. We recently moved, upgraded the service from
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
internet to internet and TV cable. Nothing went right.
Under no circumstances allow them to schedule "contractors". The contractors are little more than cable stringers and have no knowledge of the internal operations and checks within TWC. Twice, once for internet service, once for TV cable service the contractor failed to complete registration of the equipment. The contractors seem to have little understanding or capability to test functionality and completeness of their job. They might be "saving" TWC money, but they are doing it by taking your time as a customer.
Their internal processes leave much to be desired. Registering a new cable modem? don't bother with the "online" process, you might as well call directly because that's where you will end up.
Availability? Accountability? Those concepts are unknown to TWC. Consider for a few minutes how much you will pay over a year.

We have had Century Link internet, bundled with our land line, for more than 5 years. We are paying about $35 per month for the internet service according to our bill. Over the last 2 months, we have experienced constant "drops" in our internet service, with different computers, where the internet simply goes dead. Today, I called in because the service has been dropping all day. After waiting more than 1/2 hour on hold, their computer told me there is nothing wrong with my internet service. I talked to a technical support technician who told me the same thing.
What is clear is that Century Link does not have the line and amplifier capacity to service our neighborhood, where the average home is 2500 square feet and each house probably 2 or 3 computers.
So tomorrow I am going to start looking for another internet service, where we are not tied into a 1 or 2 year contract which we can't drop if the service is as terrible as Century Link.

After repeated calls to repair the system we decided to change our service from
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
to AT&T. We filed for the change on January 13, and were assured that paperwork had been filed with
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
for the change of service on January 14th, 2015. We were informed that a change of service might take as much as 10 business days.
When AT&T came out to install our new service on 24 January we were told that
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
was holding our phone numbers hostage until at least February 6th.
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
has been stalling this entire time in order to have another billing cycle to bill us for. This is terrible business practice from a company that has failed to adequately repair problems with their installation of equipment at our home.
All we want is our money back from the extended billing cycle enforced upone us by
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
and the immediate release of our phone numbers, which is common industry practice.

Everyone I've spoken with here has been polite, and seemingly wanting to help, but... they have not been able to deliver what they are selling yet. After Numerous calls routed to their call center at Cablelynx and having a company tech out 3 times they have not been able to get the internet right and deliver the service I ordered and paid for. Prior to ordering the service I was told by both
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
and Cablelynx that what they call their high speed turbo (up to 50 mbps) was available at my address. I spoke with many, many people at both
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
City Hospital and Northeastern State University about internet providers in
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
prior to deciding what service to install. Despite many unflattering reviews, based on
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
/ Cablelynx's advertisements, the services featured on their website, and what they told me over the phone, I ordered their service. I Ordered and paid (by check at time of install) for the most expensive package they have at ($139 per month) for advertised speed up to 50 mbps. I'm Lucky if im getting 2- 3. Many times less than 1. I'm even having trouble with
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
email, much less web browsing. Forget about trying to access services like Netflix, it just hangs and hangs on this ISP's service. Numerous calls to their service center. I've recieved several reasons for why I'm having problems like they didn't have my order correct, I had not ordered their fastest service, that I had ordeed their enhanced package, not the turbo, ... That for some unexplained reason my modem had been set at residential speed level, etc... Again, I'm paying over $130/mo just for internet, and getting somewhere between 0.8 and 3 mbps. That's using Speedtest and numerous servers including their own sppedtest.ark.cablelynx.com. Last tech who came out yesterday admittted he was not getting much better from the connection and modem they installed. That's not even up to the advertised speed of their lowest priced ($59/mo) package. At 2 - 3 mbps I'm getting less than 20% of what I am paying for. Blamed it on the bandwidth. Couldn't do anything about it. His solution to the problem was to drop me down to their lowest price package, even though I was not getting anywhere near that speed either, and credit my account. Waiting to see how quickly that cedit happens. I was told they are in the process of upgrading infrastructure and that things should be better in another month or so. I'm assuming I'm dealing with professionals who understand the importance of providing service annd value to their loyal customers. I'm also assuming the people running this businss know they cant advertise something they cant deliver, and collect money from people under these circumstances. Perhaps the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, state utility regulators, and the FCC can explain this better than I can. I would like to be here again, in another month or so, and provide a glowing review of this company and their servce. Presently, I'm sitting tight, along with many friends and interested third party observers, waiting for them to deliver on my now adjusted, credited, slower, lower-tier internet service package, and hopefully, something closer to that 50 mbps they advertise for
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
, in the very near future.

The above amount included WIFI services for a year and installation. Just about everyone in our area outside city limits use their service. It is the best we have had in the nine years we have lived here.

tl:dr -
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
didn't port our phone number and we've been given multiple deadlines that have been missed. Either
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
is giving us the run around or has become completely incompetent.
On Monday January 5th (I believe), I called to switch my phone and internet from Dish to CentruryLink. I was quoted a great price ($45 a month for 20Mbit and unlimited phone).
The person told me that it would be set up the following Wednesday.
Note: I don't think I explicitly asked to "port" our number nor was I asked. I did say I wanted to transfer from Dish which I assumed implied that we wanted to take our number with us.
I called on that day (
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
7th) and was told that it would actually take effect the following Monday (
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
12th). I wasn't particularly happy with that because it meant that we couldn't cancel Dish until then but
That Monday came and I called Dish to cancel but was told that
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
had never requested to take over our number.
Again, I called Century link (still
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
12th). Talked to a supervisor and he told me that they would expedite the transfer within 2 days but that it was scheduled to complete on January 21st. This time, I completed the 3rd party verification for number transfer, which the first person I talked to didn't have me do.
I will update as things progress.
Those two days passed with no action and I called back. The person I talked to seemed to have never heard of expediting a number transfer and told me to wait for January 21st.
It is not January 22nd and the transfer hasn't happened. However, yesterday (the 21st), our internet stopped working and we don't know who to call because we have two companies supposedly providing internet access.

I just received my January 2015 bill. I have landline and

raised the cost of the modem
150%. According to the representative, if you have
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
you have to use their modem. I live in Kentucky, so I called the public service commission to
Cabot Internet Service Providers Provider Name Locked
a complaint, only to be told that, per the Kentucky legislature, the commission is only allowed to handle complaints related to landlines. The commission was never given authority to handle complaints about internet service, so providers can raise rates anytime and any amount in Kentucky.
