stopped running after a recent move. Bill came out and spent almost 2 hours cleaning and oiling the movement, adjusting the clock, and" having the chimes working perfectly. He was very professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him.

It went great. Bill came from

WI to my home in the Southwest suburbs of Chgo. He was on time, courteous and went about his work quietly and professionally. Nice person besides being professional. I would not hesitate to recommend him or use his services again.

Our grandfather clock is 25 years old and has never been cleaned. After we moved the clock ran for about a month and then stopped. We checked with Angie's list and loved the reviews so we called.

was prompt and friendly. The way he worked you could tell that he knew exactly what he was doing and along the way he explained what he was doing.
He even cleaned the glass and reinstalled a couple of numbers that had fallen off of the face of the clock. He explained how to speed up and slow down the clock; which I got all wrong. He came back out after I couldn't get the clock to keep correct time, on a Sunday no less. He showed me how to properly adjust the pendulum and he was so nice about it too.
Yes, absolutely I would recommend him and yes, I will have him come back in a couple of years to maintain our clock.

came to the house and was able to repair one on the clocks here. The other large clock had to be removed. It was repaired quickly and returned to my home. I was very happy with the service I was provided and the quality of the workmanship. I would highly recommend

He came in and said I had a warranty for 6 months. Then when he was leaving he said their was no warranty and that they would only deduct the $225 from the overall cost. He then said that one of the chimes were worn out. I literally had never used them and in an apartment you can't. He then replaced it anyways without saying anything. I felt like they were dishonest. The clock is now running hours slow. Its not even usable. I have called him and left a message and he has not responded.

I inherited my grandfather clock from my mother. It had not worked for the last several years while in her possession. After moving it to my home, I was not able to get it to work, so I contacted

to ask him to come to my house and look at it. He told me that it would probably be 4 or 5 weeks before he could come, and he would contact me. After about 4 weeks, he called and said he could come to my house in about 45 minutes if that was convenient. He came and oiled my clock, etc. and had it working in about an hour. Afterwards, he asked me if I knew what I needed to do to keep the clock running. I knew nothing about how it worked, and he gave me a very thorough lesson in grandfather clocks. I am beyond excited because this clock is so special to me, and now I can really enjoy it. I also had another wall clock that was no longer working, and I showed it to

. He said that he could repair it and took it to his shop to do so. Finding someone to repair Grandfather clocks is a difficult task, and I feel that it is a dying art. I commented to
Helena Clock Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
that I hoped he was teaching this skill to others. He replied that he mentors others, but not many young people are interested. That is very sad to me because I care so much about family heirlooms such as my clock. I feel that the cost of repair was very reasonable due to the length of time he spent on it as well as his travel time. Every time I hear my clock chime, I have a big smile on my face. I contacted
Helena Clock Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
based on reviews here in Angie's List toward the end of last year, and he came to pick up a cuckoo clock with musical movement striking the hour and half hour that had stopped working, along with a mantle clock that I had purchased in 1982 for my father, which had also stopped working. He explained in detail how he worked and that turnaround time was not quick, as he usually had 10 or more clocks in queue at a time for repairs and went from one to the other while awaiting parts for some. He also told me that he usually waited until he had more than one or two cuckoo clocks at a time to begin work on these. I was fine with that, as he had repaired and sold clocks through Harpeth Clock several years before so had excellent expertise and experience. He returned both of my clocks about February of this year, and all continues well with the cuckoo clock, but I began to have problems again keeping the mantle clock running. He came out and showed me how to make sure the clock was level and to adjust the pendulum. We let it run for a few days on the dining table, then I moved it upstairs. It ran a short time and began to stop intermittently again. He came back a few days later to check it and helped me adjust the pendulum to account for a nonlevel surface. It ran again for awhile then stopped. He told me what to watch for over a couple of days to help troubleshoot, which I did. He came back again and took the clock back to his shop in

to set it up and observe out of its case. He returned the clock this past week and explained that he'd found what was making it stick and stop and corrected that and told me to watch again and call if it stopped again. It has continued to run just fine ever since. I really appreciated the fact that he took his time to trouble shoot and actually talk to me about the possible problems, as well as his willingness to return as often as necessary until the clock ran properly. He didn't charge me anything extra for all the extra calls and return visits. I was impressed at his persistence and willingness to explain everything, and I'd definitely recommend him to anybody who requires clock repair or adjustments.

Watch was dropped-off on 22 May for repair/servicing. After 2 visits and 3 phone calls the watch was picked-up on 8

without having been serviced. It's unclear if the shop doesn't do watch service/repair or there was just more pressing work they were doing. Regardless the lack of follow-up and customer service will preclude me from using that shop in the future.

He took the entire click apart and used the correct expensive oil . Definitely experienced. I did need to provide a towel for the cleaning and a step stool for him to reach the clock, which surprised me. If I did not have one would he have been able to do the job that day?
