is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She evaluated the house and then we conversed on what I was looking for, It was an open" conversation during the entire consult. She made very good recommendations that I had never considered and ended up taking. We are very pleased with the final paint selections. We will use her again in the future.

"We found
to be professional, enthusiastic and responsive. She listened to our likes and dislikes and identified our "style". Her" layout and suggestions were instrumental in helping us to move forward in selection of furniture, window and floor coverings, lighting, art and paint colors. She was mindful of our budget and provided alternatives when we asked for them. The people she referred us to (for painting, furniture, and window coverings) were excellent. She nudged us out of our dated comfort zone to create a modern and cohesive look for the first floor of our home. We would not hesitate to call her again! Highly recommend her for those feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to start or who just want to update their decor.

I know you said you didn't want a realtor but I do know someone who is good.  Her name is Pam Hunt and she is with William E. Wood.

Otherwise I would check out interior designers.  They could make suggestions and outline some finer details that could help you stage your home.

In the meantime start packing away those personal momentos and pictures.  Clear and clean the walls.  Go with a neutral paint color throughout the house.  Oyster by Behr is a classic.  Start getting rid of clutter.  If you haven't worn it in 3 years or used it in 5....pitch it.  Depending on how long you have lived in your home the accumulation of "things" could be tremendous. Donate your unwanted and unused to a thrift store.  It is tax deductible. Get appliances off the counters in the kitchen.  Buyers want to imagine "their" things sitting there.  Get rid of heavy drapes and go with  sheers consistent throughout the house.  Make rooms look larger by chucking some furniture.  Sell it or put it in storage until you have moved.  How is the floor?   Carpet removed may reveal beautiful hardwoods that are in high demand right now.  Pets?  Get someone to come give you the "sniff" test.  We grow acustomed to the smell of our house and might not recognize pet stinkies. Make everything shine by cleaning thoroughly, and let in the light.  Bright rooms are inviting.  Dark rooms are depressing. These things will give you a head start and clear your mind for some good ides.  Good luck with your interior designer.

I have lost count of how many kitchens I have remodeled and I prefer Brushed Stainless Steel sinks. Polished will show scratched more  and with the brushed finish if you wipe with the grain with a milld scrub pad and an old time product called Bar Keepers Friend the look good almost forever. If you have any concerns about scratches in the bottom you can use a grid when needed, most sink manufacturers make them for their sinks. You say you have stains in a solid surface siink and it is probably the older generation. The newer ones have a high stone content to the mix and are less prone to this but I still prefer stainless.

Unclutterer had a post about this a few months back. While I didn't use the photo gallery method she suggested, I did check out the comments to find some other interesting solutions: http://unclutterer.com/2011/04/04/easily-hang-an-organized-photo-gallery-with-the-perfectpicturewall/

was wonderful to work with. He handled every aspect of our home renovation, provided top of the line contractors and personally made sure everything was done exactly the way we wanted it. He was there every step of the way allowing us to continue working, including travelling, giving us the confidence to know all was being done right even though we were not there. We could not be happier and certainly would use

again for any project, large or small.

is smart and capable, with a good eye for color and design, but she is inexperienced and it shows. She mismeasured TWICE, once for a bathroom medicine cabinet and once for kitchen cabinets. The general contractor caught her mistakes both times. If we had gone ahead with the kitchen cabinets, it would have been an expensive disaster....More /> The second time, her mistake caused me to buy an extra medicine cabinet that I could not use and could not return. She tried to blame the contractor by saying he had ordered the items, but I corrected her by pointing out she had given him the dimensions. I asked her if she would refund my money. She said yes, she would, if the mistake was hers, but she wanting to talk to the contractor first.
I never heard from her again, despite repeated attempts to contact her. I am stuck with a useless $800 medicine cabinet.
I would not use her services again.

accepted payment for a consult at $149. The consult payment was to provide 3D renderings for a new kitchen, as well as some budgetary quotes. Unfortunatley, after the meeting, I attempted to reach out to her several times for the feedback, with no response. I did receive one email from her stating to "bear with me" as she was quite busy. After this email, no response. I reached out several additional times requesting a return of the $149 as she did not perform services as stated, but she changed her phone number and has never responded. I'm updating this listing as I don't want others to fall for this service.

I was a little worried about another person moving my art but she was so respectful of my environment and belongings. She even arranged for aerial photos which I felt would improve the image of the property. Shortly after I had a buyer that was a perfect match for my home!

Ev was so quick to respond to my question and to give me a couple of names of people she knew who could help me and she didn't even benefit. She just did it to be helpful to me! When I need someone to come to my home and do just the design work I will be calling Ev.

Christian came in, took stock of what's here, and provided new, fresh ideas for some renovation and redecorating. He was open to listening and then providing different alternatives. I appreciated his candor and opinions as he was not there just to approve what I thought (no need for me to pay for that!) but to give a more integrated and balanced look for my ultimate objectives. Christian's eye for colors was remarkable, too, and the slight shading tints will work well for the house and rooms. Thank you, Christian!!

recommendation, I contacted this individual. She promised I would be totally satisfied and gave me two recommendations in my neighborhood.

Work proceeded with a crew of 5 people. The first day (only) everything was covered with plastic as she had promised.. My ceiling is streaked in my family room (it appears latex paint was used in spots on the ceiling. When I pointed this out to her she said she couldn't see it, so she said. I recently had replaced carpeting with a dark wood look tile, they were messy, leaving paint drips and smudges all over my new floor especially in the kitchen where they had repainted my cabinets white. At my insisting, they did re-grout the title. They would have preferred to put white caulk all along the edges of my new floor. The paint in the kitchen is streaked with some areas missed. The asked that I approve of the job they did before the paint was even dry...I did point out some areas but told them I could not approve the painting before it dried. With 5 people working in all these areas there was no control over quality!!! I did ask her to send a crew of two or three early on to which she refused.

My double doors on the front of my house were sanded and left rough, then stained. At this point I asked them to stop! I plan to have these redone by reputable painters.

I like the texture done on my wall, except there were air bubbles in a couple of spots.

They were to patch holes and texture where obselete intercom was removed...these areas will have to be redone. They sprayed once but the texture does not blend in with the rest of the wall.

I believe

is a talented decorator. She did help me with paint selections and had good ideas for decorative accents, but I would NEVER use her for painting!!!

was (is) wonderful! When we first met him, we didn't know what to expect. We thought that we simply wanted to redo our kitchen and family room area.

sat down with us and asked us both many questions that were geared not only toward our lifestyle but also designed to find out what colors/style we both like. With that information he provided us with beautiful hand drawn illustrations of what his vision was of our home. We were absolutley stunned with the design concept he came up with, which actually, was so much more of what we really wanted. Through his thoughtful questioning he totally "got" the two of us. After a more thorough budget was discussed, he helped us vet contractors. The one we chose was excellent and

was able to establish a great repoirt with the crew.

was ready and available to us whenever needed, including the freak out I had about a color (which turned out to be perfect in the end). We both learned to just sit back and trust

's judgement. Throughout the process
Auburn Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
listened to our needs and concerns and very much honored them all. We have a teen and pets and he was willing to work with us in terms of types of fabrics, materials etc we wanted that would hold up against these forces.

We absolutely loved working with
