is a general contractor. This company has a nice website and commercials but unfortunately it stops there. They bid a $66,000 project which escalated to $100,000 and still wasn't enough to cover our initial requests to them. They are more concerned with collecting money than their work.
did NOT pull any permits and did not report any of their work to the Municipality. 7 months into the 3 month project we found out that they did not pull permits. We asked that they do so and make it right. They did not. We are now having to have our house inspected after the fact and retro obtain the permits with the

Our home is an older home a large portion of this house was remodeled, walls were even gutted. They re-did a lot of electrical and replaced plumbing in a new bathroom, Laundry room and any pipe that was exposed for upgrades, redid a new fireplace twice, order a door package and replaced 3 times for wrong orders. They performed the plumbing and a lot of electrical work themselves (which they are not licensed for (we did not know that at the time) with young workers that seem to be replaced often and than hired subs to re-do their work. Our furnace caught on fire, our basement was flooded, canned light's were burning, the project was a mess with dust on our personal belongings at all times. Our flooring was pulled for months but only after our new carpet went in they decided to paint all the new trim.
They went through worker after worker and re did their work multiple times on almost all projects. If the delayed and poor work wasn't enough, we also lost many of our personal possessions.
threw out 7 Contractors bags of our personal belongings. We unloaded each room as it was remodeled as we lived here to make room for the construction. We put our items in large contractors bags and would store them in our garage until that room was done. We let
know what they were. They went into our garage and tossed threw away our belongings. Thousands of dollars worth of important gear, sporting equipment, items such as National Team equipment, items that you can not replace and other personal belongings. It was disheartening and time consuming. We are still replacing our belongings.
The leadership and owner of this company is not helpful, arrogant and blames anyone he can on the mess ups versus taking responsibility for

did a nice job tearing out a huge bay window, enlarging the hole and installing a new, straight window. Great job on all the finish work, happy with the result. They also tore out my fake rock wood burning fireplace in preparation for a new gas fireplace to be installed. Tough work with several snags but they handled them. Appreciate their flexibility working with me as I decided on new fireplace details.
made the new mantel on site, very nice! While up on the roof they noticed a portion of my back roof was in very bad shape, so they made room in their schedule to replace that with something much better than we had. Their construction knowledge makes them very capable to handle many types of jobs. Thought they were very fair in their price, and didn't gouge me with add ons.
is very meticulous in keeping receipts so you know what you're paying for. In the end, left things tidy and swept out the garage where they had done lots of cutting.

It went wonderfully.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a pleasure to have working in our home. He was always on time and very respectful of our time and space. We have a toddler and were pregnant at the time and he worked hard to get our house ready in time for Christmas and the upcoming birth of our child. He did a terrific job and I would recommend him to friends and family. Its refreshing to find a handyman and general contractor who you can rely on. We will be hiring
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for any upcoming work in our house.

and
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
were working at my house for most of a week. I was acting as my own GC with
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
just installing the beam and the door. There was a lot more work to be done later and both
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
were very helpful with tip and tricks for the next stages of my kitchen remodel. Just watching them work I learned a lot. That being said I wish I had asked
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to do more of my remodel due to his attention to detail and skill. I have some crazy texture and he matched it so well I can hardly see the seams even though I haven’t painted yet. He kept everything clean and organized when he left for the day and left a completely clean job site when finished.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a very busy man, but definitely worth the wait. Get on his schedule early.

I contacted
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
in January 2014 and asked for an estimate to build an additional bedroom/office in my house.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
visited me a few days later, we discussed the project at length. I asked several questions about the build out, HVAC, Electric and painting. I had three main concerns, #1. Making sure the supporting structure was
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
in the wall. #2. Confirming HVAC could be run to the new room. #3. Installing the electric and moving a bedroom switch to a opposite wall.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
listened to my concerns and scheduled a second meeting with the HVAC and Electrical Contractors so they could bid the project.. At the meeting
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
made sure my concerns were addressed by the contractors, and thankfully everything I wanted/needed to happen was possible.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
provided me a bid about two weeks later. His bid was over $5,000 less than the other competing bid. I hired
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
the same night for the job. We scheduled the job to start on the 24th of March 2014. The job started on time, and much to my surprise,
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew had the floor installed by the end of the first day. It was absolutely amazing to watch his crew work. By the time the second day was done, the wall structure was complete. Day 3 was the Electrical work and sheet rock. By day 4, the wall was taped and mudded. Like I said, it was fast and it looked great. One item of note, I told
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew my son has dust induced asthma and wanted to know when they would be sanding the walls.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
gave me an approximate day they would sand the walls, but more important, they went to the extreme to keep the dust to a minimum AND spent about 30 minutes each afternoon cleaning, just to make sure the dust was down. Over the course of 9 work days,
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew worked to get the job done. This afternoon the job was completed, the supporting structure is
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the HVAC and electric are installed and working fine. Simply stated it looks amazing, my wife and I are very pleased. If you need any home remodel work done, I strongly recommend you use
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
.

We used this company for several projects, for the first year or so everything was great, now we find ceiling Sheetrock is sagging, light bulbs blow out due to faulty wiring, the Deck is a total disaster very expensive, poorly installed, poor communication, I did call to see what they would do to repair the deck I was told they wouldn't repair or replace anything,
Dreadful customer service, rude and arrogant owner

Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a WIZARD with this stuff. He patched the holes with material cut from the wall he was covering, created a patch that had all the lines perfectly matched; then he mudded and sanded the patch so that you can barely tell it's there. I would have been very skeptical that he could do it, except that in a previous job we had him istall a new inset wall cabinet, which required re-drywalling, mudding, sanding, and texturing... I didn't think it was possible to ever make it match perfectly, but even knowing it's there, we can so NO evidence of it.
We also had our roof redone recently, and the roofers accidentally poked a hole in a couple ceiling tiles. These are old tiles, not made anymore, and if we couldn't fix it, we'd have to replace the entire ceiling. I didn't think it could be fixed to my satisfaction, but we called
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to give it a try. Again, I can look straight at where I know the broken tiles were, and I can't see a blemish.
We call
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for all manner of jobs, and he'll tell you if he can't do it, but he'll discuss all the options he can think of, give you various bids and time estimates, and do whichever one you choose. We find that his bids are very reasonable, he's never gone over, and he gets it done quickly.

I called
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to come quote installing a replacement back door. At the time I asked for a sliding glass door quote but told them I was not 100% sure. A few days after the quote I called and talked to
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
about the difference between sliding and just putting another french door in. She explained that I should go to Timberline Mills on Post Rd as this was their preferred door company and were they would order the door from. She also advise that I should talk to them about the difference in the doors they would help me. While at Timber Mills I call
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
again and spoke with her about what I and Timberline were talking about. I did decide to go with French door again.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
the guy at Timberline also spoke with
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
while I was there so everyone was on the same page. Timberline asked me to please make a deposit, I call
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
back to tell her what they were telling me. She said to go ahead and they would remove the deposit from the amount owed to
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. I told her I did not know what size door i need to order and she said they would give Timberline the measurement they took. So I left Timberline feeling as thou I had a good energy efficient door chosen for me house. Three weeks went by and I called
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to see where the door was to being built and installed.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
said she would call Timberline and call me back. When she called back she said it was not ready yet. Another three weeks goes by and I call
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
again and she tells me she will call Timberline and let me know. She returns this call and says I have to finish paying for the door. I explain I thought they were and she said well it will be easier if you do. So I called Timberline and pay off the door. Two weeks later
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
comes to install the door. In November they remove my old door and install the new one. When I came home that evening I notice my blinds were off centered and I had ice build up on the new door. I called
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
the next day and spoke to them they call Timberline and they said Ice build up meant there was a good seal. And I told them there was unfinished work on the install.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
asked if her and owner could come out the next day to see the work. SO we scheduled an appoint for them to view. I arrived at the home and
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
called 5 minutes after appointment and said they were unable to come out. Two weeks later they came out, I came home on lunch and found them on my back porch unannounced. They reviewed the work and determined that some finishing work need to be done/. They also explain that the door I had order was to big so they cut out a stud. I asked why they didnt call me. They said they did it all the time and figured I would want the door installed instead of a wood board over the door way. I told them that was not ok and I need a different door and the stud back. They told me no I order door and gave wrong measurements to Timberline and that there was nothing they could do. So I called Timberline to confirm the measurements of the door and were the measurements were received. They said they got them from
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. Now this is when the finger pointing began. Long story short I had to call the insurance company and two engineers later and a year time. They had to install reinforcements for the stud they removed. Then once that was done they sent me a bill via email. I ask that they please send me a break down of the bill to my mailing address. The same day I received the break down bill they threaten me with a
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
on my home if I did not pay with in 5 days. The bill had not even been generated till 5 prior to my receiving it. They did not call me to talk about this but sent me an email threatening me of a
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
on my home. Never had I seen any bill during this time. I will never use them again. I will not suggest them again. Nothing.

We have an apartment rental that needed a new tub surround installed. I began the job but found that the sheet rock had to be replaced. I ran out of time and had to get somebody in immediately to finish the work as our tenants were unable to use the bathroom. I called around and was not having much luck until I talked with
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. I explained my situation and they were able to have a fellow come out that day and gave me estimate and scheduled the work for the next day.
Went very well. I was pleased working with the
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
guys. They were informative, gave me options for the work and were straight forward and honest. A minor touch up piece of work had to be done after the initial job. This was not because of any faulty work but a difficult surround. They worked with the renters and came back and took care of the touch ups with out any additional charges.
I have other work to be done and will be using

Genral.

Our design was approved by the municipality only after requiring substantive and costly structural changes that would balloon this project way beyond our budget. The Squires never once communicated this to us. At that point we should have taken the time to re-evaluate our plan and find a cheaper compromise. But all the Squires saw were large dollar signs in their eyes and things went swiftly downhill from there.
They - the Squires couple - are incompetent, unethical, dishonest, and unprofessional. They sell themselves as something they are not. They got in WAY over their heads, underbid our project, assumed no responsibility for their mistakes, and left us with an unfinished mess. Meanwhile they took our money and didn't pay our electrician, the plumber, or the heating subcontractor. Consequently, we now have two liens on our home thanks to the Squires. We signed a contract that
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and Remodel touts as the work they will accomplish for the proposed bid. He essentially abandoned the project, tried to fire our very competent carpenters, ceased communication, and never told us he was not paying the subcontractors. Meanwhile the house was still unfinished FIVE MONTHS beyond the original projected time he told us he would finish.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
Squires wasn't answering phone calls from the countertop subs, the plumber, the electrician. They lied about being out of town when they weren't just to avoid confrontation with unpaid subcontractors. He kept asking us for more and more "over charges" some of them for things that had occurred 6-7 months previously. At the same time it was difficult to get the "credits" we were due for work we put into the house or mistakes that were made in the contract. He messed up every single bathroom in the house. Ironically he bragged about how he made it through high school "without ever taking any math". And it was quite obvious. He ordered the incorrect size vanity for a custom sink that we gave him the exact dimensions for. He incorrectly calculated the cabinetry for one of the upstairs bathrooms. He didn't reference the blueprints and ordered a custom made cabinet for the master bath that didn't fit. And because he neglected to drain our pipes during the construction phase and they froze (imagine that in January in Alaska) he destroyed $1200 worth of plumbing fixtures in the one bathroom we didn't plan to remodel. This freeze also caused $1500 worth of damage to an essentially new boiler. He ordered incorrect paint, incorrect windows, incorrect doors, incorrect shower stall. He would order incorrect quantities of tile and wood leaving us to scramble and figure out how to rectify his mistakes. He didn't order enough wood for our staircase. He ordered the wrong color flooring and then told us that it was a superior product to that which we actually wanted (it wasn't). He didn't order enough siding. However, he certainly charged us for the correct amount of siding and then left us to pay for it a second time over. I read a review another client of his wrote and dated 4/2013. This client talks about how attentive
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was to detail and all I could think was that
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was probably spending OUR money on their project while he had essentially decided to check out on ours. We felt phenomenally betrayed and wouldn't wish this man or his company (which has changed names multiple times - a red flag we didn't recognize until it was too late) on our worst enemy.
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
Squires needs to go back to pounding nails and has absolutely no business touting himself as a general contractor. I credit the fact that we have a lovely finished product to our excellent carpenters and sub contractors. The mixed blessing is the fact that
Anchorage Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
Squires actually did very little work on our house. I fear what the outcome might have been if he HAD been more involved!
