After removing the existing carpet, he never came back to complete my Pergo installation.
Repeated phone calls, texts, and emails to
Eager went unanswered. After a couple weeks passed I was able to get a hold of him. He had been arrested, bailed, and had his truck impounded during the time he was supposed to be working. A Court View
showed he had been a defendant on a large number of cases in the past.
He claimed the sub-contractor he hired to perform the flooring install showed up onsite drunk and he had to fire them. He promised to have it done by the weekend (a month after he agreed to start on the project).
A couple days later he called me, and told me this project had been nothing but a hassle. He then threatened me to not ever contact him again, and told me I could attempt to recover the funds if I wanted. After the angry monologue, he hung up.
Unfortunately I'll have to take this to small claims court to attempt to recoup the portion of the project I paid for up front.
It was a very frustrating, time consuming, and costly experience.

After making the decision last year to invest in new flooring in our 10-year-old house, my husband and I checked out a half dozen carpet and flooring stores in Anchorage, including Lowe's, Giant
's, Sav-on Floors, and
and
. The big box stores had limited inventory and we were not impressed by or confident in the knowledge or integrity of their sales staff, let alone their installation contractors. We liked the selection at
and
, but couldn't connect with their installer. Finding the perfect product for our radiant heat floors was overwhelming, and it was complicated by the layout of the main living area and the many stairs connecting the lower level with the upstairs. Months went by. We researched websites, read reviews, compared costs, and finally checked Angie's List. There we learned about
Flooring in Wasilla. The reviews on Angie's List gave us the incentive to investigate the business, but it was
, the owner, who won us over. He has been in the flooring business all of his life, so he has a thorough understanding of the products he sells and has a lifetime of experience installing various materials. I'm not sure what impressed me the most, the fact that he was a man of his word, fair in his pricing, took pride in his work or cleaned up after each day's work. The fact is, all of these things are important when you're investing in a home improvement.
's son,
, also was easy to work with, and a great help in coordinating our schedules. I am a picky, skeptical consumer, but I recommend
Flooring without reservation.
and
have a business they care about, and lucky for us they were good at it.

exceeded my wildest expectations. Based on highly positive reviews on Angie's List I contacted
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
for a bid - which was done very promptly and with excellent communication. Honestly, I knew this was going to be a really hard job, and even with a great provider I had minimal expectations.
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
hit this one out of the park. He got that floor as flat a

table and as smooth as a baby's bottom. He then proceeded to do a perfect, seamless, one-piece vinyl shot that frankly I did not realize could be done. Better still was his eye for detail, and spotting other little problem areas. He recommended some very easy fixes that offered great benefit - but not in a way I felt pressured to act (and in fact I felt very "taken care of"). Also greatly welcomed was the professionalism shown in work habits, promptness, cleanliness, etc.
Saying I'm stoked is a gross understatement. I knew ahead of time that you have to be a bit patient with getting on
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's schedule (but he is very honest about the timelines) - but man is it ever worth the wait! I have already made sure I'm in the queue for some outside work this summer.

Excellent!!! A designer and a contractor came to the house and took measurements and photos and we told them what we were looking for' they gave us some suggestions and we made an appointment to meet with the same people at K & W and we picked colors and styles and after two more visits we picked a design and the cabinets at a price we could live with. We were supplied with a 3d rendering of how our kitchen would appear when the job was finished. The job started at the appointed time and was finished within three days of the scheduled date. A rep for K & W came by every day to make sure everything was going according to plan.

is the second retailer I visited to discuss my flooring project. I recently purchased a home which had 3/4" solid Brazilian Cherry flooring in the living room and dining room and grey shag carpet in the den and bedroom on the rest of the upper floor. The lower floor with three bedrooms was all grey shag. I wanted to finish out the main floor with hardwood and match as closely as possible the hardwood flooring that was already there.
The first retailer I visited immediately told me it wouldn't work, it wouldn't match, it would be too expensive, they already had a different product in stock that would look just as good, etc. They did not listen to what I wanted to accomplish but went straight to the sell.
I then went to
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and started again to describe what I wanted to accomplish. The sales associate
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
did not interrupt, but listened to what I wanted to do. She then patiently showed me many samples and after some time we selected a few that might work. She showed me a wide variety of samples without reference to any price differences and did not push one product over another. She came out to my house the next day and we laid the samples on the floor to see which one was the closest match. One of them jumped out as a near exact match.
She measured the house throughout and agreed to provide an upstairs and whole house quote the next day. I received the quotes promptly as promised and then considered various configurations based on pricing and budget. Ultimately I decided to install 3/4" solid hardwood upstairs and engineered hardwood downstairs. This would enable me to have a seamless match to what was already installed upstairs and save a good bit of money by installing a less expensive product downstairs. To save a bit more, I decided to leave the carpet in the two spare bedrooms downstairs. It was a good, balanced decision reached based on valuable assistance and options provided for my review.
I received a discount for cash payment and waited a few weeks for the product to be shipped. The installers showed up last Thursday. They spent three days installing the engineered flooring downstairs and another three days and a little bit more installing the solid flooring upstairs. Both products are beautiful and were patiently and expertly installed. Given the shading variations in Brazilian Cherry, the installers did a great job of mixing and matching the shading differences and the various lengths. Upstairs, you can't tell where the old flooring ends and the new flooring begins. I could not be happier with the product, the sales, the service or the installation.
Perhaps I might have saved a few dollars by shopping around more. However, by doing business with
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, I dealt with a retailer that delivered exactly what I wanted and asked for rather than attempting to push something else on me. They were professional, courteous, prompt and efficient from beginning to end. Iam delighted with the results.

Working with the designer was fine. She was professional and very nice. Our job was fairly small so we started out working with one designer but then we're passed onto the one that did our design. We're not sure if this was done intentionally since our job was a small one or not. We didn't like this switch at first but it worked out okay. We picked out backsplash tile and ordered the tile. We were expecting the tile in in two weeks. We didn't get a call telling us the tile was in so I followed up with our designer. Once the tile gets ordered, then a different person is supposed to call to let you know the product is in and to schedule the installation. This part of our project was frustrating as they didn't call us and scheduling was delayed. They said the "scheduler" was on vacation. It took about 4 weeks from the time we ordered the tile until we had the call to schedule the installation. With this said, the installers (

Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
needs to change. They need to follow-up with their customers! Once our tile was ordered, we didn't get any follow-up from the designer. We also worked with the designer to order moulding pieces for the bottom of our existing kitchen cabinets. These pieces conceal the under cabinet light fixtures and give the cabinets a finished look. This process went smoother in that the items were ordered, they came in in just a few weeks and the job was scheduled without lots of follow-up on my part. The installation went fine and the installer was prompt and professional. We didn't get a follow-up call from the designer on this job either. Lastly, we feel their prices are high, but are new to Alaska from New
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
. We found that costs of most items are much higher in AK so we're not sure if this just Alaska or If

is a bit pricier.

is a nice guy and did a good job on the large tile install on the kitchen floor. Here were the problems with his work: Backsplash - when you tile with mosaic tile you never have two of the same tiles together, multiple places on my backsplash this is a problem. The caulk on the bottom of the tiles is everywhere and not a nice even line. This was the first of
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's cleanup problems. I found grout - dried grout everywhere. He did not put drop clothes down so the grout from the backsplash was on my countertops and my cabinets. The grout fromt he floor tile install was found in clumps on walls on the kickplates of the cabinets on the cabinets and then also tracked through my house. Also he dumped dry grout on my carpet in the spare room and now I have a nice dark stain. I had a microwave that was to be installed and he had all of the measurments to tile up to the microwave. He did not take advantage of that and tiled too high. Not a big deal but when he chipped off the glass tiled from the wall he just left the shards of glass all over the floor and countertops. We found grout down our bathroom sink and turpentine down or kitchen disposal sink even though we showed him where th elaundry room sink was. I was cleaning paint and poly out of my stainless steel kistchen sink for hour. He left used brushes around and half used cans even after he had "cleaned up". I had to actually put "clean up" on the punchlist or the pile of sawdust would have remained in my home.
As for the painting and doors - I had to have him redo the trim paint 2 times above the original and there is not only paint on my windows that hedid not clean off bu also paint on my shade now after the 3rd time he did them. The door, well I probably need to have them sanded down and re-done properly.
As I said
Anchorage Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
is a nice guy but he has no attention to detail or general clean up and prep.

worked hard and the final product was good. I appreciate his concern for our allergies and careattention to tenting off the house not to be repaired to keep the dust down. He was also very flexible in his custom tinting the stain for us.
