Tucson Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews
He was a dedicated worker and did all he could to please us with the job. Extremely honest and reliable.
When small unexpected problems were found, for example, substandard existing wiring, he redid it no extra cost. ...more /> When unexpected major plumbing work was required that was not in the contract, he was brought in a plumbing contractor to do this work. I paid the plumbing contractor directly with no extra charges.
A pleasure to work with.
His fee was very reasonable.
I encountered none of the problems I've had in the past with other contractors, ranging from loads of "extras" and shoddy workmanship.
I have recommended
We strongly recommend
One thing that stands out to me is that since it was our kitchen its quite a disturbance to the center of the house. possible and the use of my kitchen sink for as long as possible.
His crew came in and got right to the work tearing down the old soffit. (My husband and I had prepped the space by removing the cabinets ourselves). They had the new dry wall up in no time and began the ceiling dry wall repairs and then onto the painting. I thought he did an excellent job installing the new cabinets (which we had bought on our own).
He got my feedback before he went ahead with any decision on placement of cabinets and tile.
He was also patient with the granite counter installation (as we had purchased that on our own through another vendor). But soon as it was done he came right out to install the faucet and do the plumbing hook up.
The back porch ceiling went well also, they removed the old dry wall and installed T-111 plywood-grooves every 4" which simulates lounge and groove appearance.
The front porch ceiling only needed some drywall re-taping and secured the light fixture.
We plan to have
The work was done 99% by one young man, he had a helper one day to install the glass. He was very personable and neat, and mostly on time. He was very good about explaining things and consulting me about my wishes. (My dog liked him too. That'a a big plus in my house!) I would not hesitate to have him work for me again.
I have only one minor complaint - there are a couple tiles that, because of the pattern, it looks for all the world like there is a crack across the corner. I have had to explain to everyone that has come to see my new shower that no, that is not really a crack, it's in the pattern. I would have preferred that those tiles not be used where there they are. After using the shower for a few weeks I am beginning to wish I had chosen a different shower head, but that is not the fault of Bath Crest.
It took a little longer and cost more than I expected, but that seems to be the norm these days doesn't it? All in all I believe Bath Crest did an excellent job and I would be willing to use them again.
Cons: - The tech missed caulking an entire joint (~4 ft.) on the underside of the piece of e-stone on which the shower door rests. This would have allowed major water intrusion into the joint and behind the e-stone. Fortunately, I spotted the open joint while making a thorough inspection of the finished job, before we used the shower. I have absolutely no doubt that
General: - From signing the contract until the work began was 19 weeks. We were told to expect about a 17-week delay at the time we signed the contract, so while not ideal it was not a surprise. I do not know whether that was their standard backlog or not. - Even a good technician with many years of experience can screw up if they get in a hurry and fail to carefully inspect their work. I recommend that any customer, using any company, check the work as it progresses. If something doesn’t look right, flag it. - Overall,
I had been thinking about this renovation for many months and had purchased fixtures and "done my own design". I had found a countertop from Lowe's that I thought I wanted but BJ could not get the Lowe's countertop that I thought I wanted. However, his partner showed me a sample of a countertop that was the perfect choice - much better than the one I thought I wanted and within the same price as the Lowe's countertop. I was very happy that they are able to give excellent design device for us "do-it-your-selfers." The end result is a beautiful kitchen and bath within the budget that I had set for myself.
