"Disaster! The two guys sent out were so overbooked and stressed out....covered in sweat. They had no real professional equipment, but rather were making due with pieces of cardboard" to block vents. Their shop-vac had no filter, so was spewing dust all over the freshly-painted and cleaned apartment. They allowed dirty water to drip all over the walls. The vents weren't clean at completion. I was so dissatisfied that I had another service come out and do the job over! I asked the owner for a partial refund, but he never responded.

Yes Jupiter. It depends on the severity of the situation, is the mold encapsulated in the insulation. If yes, than replace [insulation] it with new. Is it on the casing of the heater? If yes, clean it with a mold neutralizing metal cleaner. It's not a matter of finding something or someone to clean or address the existing mold. It's a matter of finding a contractor to rectify what is causing the mold grow. It's coming from excessive moisture in the air-handler unit. I can say with 100% surety you’re dealing with poor airflow and/or incorrect equipment sizing! Either issue will cause excessive icing of the evaporator coil, which leads to excessive condensate water in the system. The condensate will eventually overflow the drain pan leaving stagnant water in the air-handler housing, which leads to mold growth. I would not let any contractor do any kind of temporary repair, add any device like a UV light or air-cleaning product until the aforementioned is corrected. I talk a lot about this in my videos and on my website. It is the result of improper system design from unqualified contractors. There is a reason why some guys cost more than others, and this is one reason why!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

There are varying opinions on the type of cleaning to have done on your air ducts.  My opinion is that it varies based on the type of duct work you have.  If you have solid material (typically metal) ducting you can have use a company that uses a brush to scrape the system clean.  If you have flexible plastic or foil ducts the solvent cleaners are generally a safer bet since the brushes often tear holes in the soft material and/or pull joints loose.  It really depends on what type on ducting you have.  You're ducts will collect all kinds of dirt, skin cells and allergens over time so if you see dicoloration around your vents it is probably time to get them checked and cleaned.

Also, don't stop at the duct work.  Don't forget your annual system check up by a licensed HVAC technician.  They'll make sure your system is running at peak performance, keeping it running efficiently and with as little impact as possible on your electric bill.  You can often save the cost of the annual tune up in the electricity cost saved.  If you have a natural gas system a bi-annual check and cleaning of the HVAC unit may be advisable to save electricity and gas.

if you have exhausted all of your choices I would call and put a complain in with the BBB then go to the DA and put a complain with them.  Then get a good lawyer and sue them for all you can get.

the answers in this on this page are all correct but you are using a bandaide to to cure the infection have a trust hvac tech open your system to see where the dust is coming from you more than likely have an impacted coil that need to acid wash to bring it back to oringinal anything left from the fire is still inbeded in that coil. just remember after that job to keep your filters clean change once a month in the summer and every two months in the winter.

When they arrived, they scoped out the job and went right to work. The job took about 20-30 minutes and I was told that the air flow was 107. They said normal was 102-109. I was very please with the job done and they left the area clean.

Goglin went above & beyond the call of duty. I had my dryer vent cleaned under the dryer's warranty and it was terrible. Mr. Goglin showed me all the dust left behind and how the reconnections were incorrect causing leaking. Mr. Goglin reattached everything and made it like new at no extra charge.
He also cleans carpets and upholstery.

Our dryer vent has been a problem for too long. The dryer was getting hot and it took 3 cycles to dry a medium load. When I attempted to vacuum the vent pipe going in the wall the lint was minimal but very DAMP.

the owner, with a helper showed up 15 minutes early and called ahead of time to confirm it was ok to come early.
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
indicated the damp lint was a bad sign and ran a test to confirm we had no airflow up the vent at all.
Our vent goes up an inside wall, crosses about 6 feet over the laundry room and then heads up to another right angle bend to dump onto the garage roof. This requires 4 right angle bends and causes restriction in the line.
It turned out that the horizontal section was packed with wet lint.
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
and his helper worked for 3 hours to clear the blockage. This work finally required
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
to remove a light fixture in the laundry room to gain access the the blocked vent pipe, drill a hole to get access to the inside, and break loose the packed lint.
But that was not enough to clear the vent completely.
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
also had to cut a hole in the ceiling of the garage to get access to another section of the vent line. He drilled into the vent above the garage ceiling as well and continued to blow out and vacuum out the vent line.
When all was complete,
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
ran a test that determined that we had about 85% airflow, and
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
said that 85% was the best we could expect with so many restrictions in the vent line
The net effect of all of the work is that dryer loads dry easily in one cycle and we are ecstatic with the result!!!

(and his teenage son) were a joy to have on our property. I am a very nervous, security- and privacy-conscious customer. I hate calling technicians to work on things with our house because of this, but Mr.
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
put me right at ease from the get-go. Unlike so many other contractors, he didn't seem bent on entering my name and address into a computerized direct mail marketing database against all my protestations. Instead, he respected my wishes about privacy, taking the time to write out invoices (for two different jobs--one dryer vent-related and one chimney-related on two different days) ***by hand***, and promised me the information associating my name (a pseudonym) with the service address would go no further than him. I found him easy to believe on this and felt nothing but gratitude.
He radiates warmth and caring and has a superb work ethic. I particularly appreciate the effort he expended explaining (over the phone) what he was going to do before he did it, how he explained it while he was doing it (teaching me about dryers and dryer vent set-ups), and the fire safety tips and recommendations he provided after the work was complete. For example, he noted it's safer to keep the door to the small washer/dryer closet open while operating the dryer so it can more readily suck in the air it needs to do its work.
With good cheer and even better muscle
Tucson Dryer Duct Services Provider Name Locked
, over and over, he climbed over the top of the dryer and crouched to work in a space of only a few cubic feet to remove dangerous sub-standard venting tubing and install replacement tubing that is much more difficult to work with but much better for fire safety.
I insisted on paying him more than the amount he requested as the total because I thought he charged too little for the first-class (!!!) work he performed. That's how good this guy was.
