Their office pre-schedules a date and time. The installers bring the pre-fabbed door and grille, and mount them to the existing door & window frames. They also installed a deep custom threshold that eliminates trapping water between the wood and screen door sills, and which also provides a bugproof seal. This also keeps the screen door sweep off the ground when opened.
The first window grille was mis-drilled, so they simply took it back and returned another time to install a correct unit. No hassles or 'we'll make it fit'.
The screen door used a narrow integrated lever and deadbolt, avoiding the squarish insert a normal deadbolt requires. The grille however has to use a standard deadbolt, this to allow cleaning the outside of our non-opening window. Otherwise it would just bolt on and look a bit neater.
The price was on the high side, but the materials and workmanship were both excellent quality, including color-matched powder coating. They touched up over the install hardware, caulked everywhere needed, and re-keyed to our existing locks. They also verified no gaps or openings; the screen door seals tight to a felt weatherstrip. Install took around 2.5 hrs, and they both called ahead & met their appointment time. They cleaned up thoroughly.
The perforated-metal grille seems to keep out bugs just fine. We have not yet had a heavy driving rain to test the threshold, but it resists hose sprays.

A few years ago, my wife and I were in the initial phase of looking at upgrading our entry door to a set of iron ones. We met the folks at First Impressions at a local home show, and had them out to look at our house/etc. The experience from beginning to (temporary) end was fantastic. The folks local to Tucson were really good to work with back then. Unfortunately, an emergency came up and our available funds had to go towards something else. Our plans were delayed. We communicated this to the folks at First Impressions and said that we would be back for sure.
Fast forward to this past January, and we call First Impressions to re-initiate a bid and finally get an entry door, gate, and a window overlay done. We were set up with a gentleman from
(name withheld) to work with us. He came out promptly to measure things and talk to us. Honestly, that was the last positive experience we had with the company. Over the next two months, we continually got the run-around from their salesman. Every time we would call it would go to his voicemail, and he would very rarely return calls. When he would, he would talk about "retail" pricing and how he was going to get us the "best deal possible" but would never actually speak any real numbers out of his mouth. It took over a month and a half to even get any basic numbers out of him! We had asked him to give us a bid on some other wrought iron railing as well, and we actually never got that from him even after several months.
Each time he would call us back, he would have the excuse that he was in a meeting. Several times he would say that they were actually talking about our specific bid. There was nothing cosmic about our situation or what we were wanting done. After three months of getting the run-around, I began looking around at other companies and got other bids. My wife and I had stopped by the Tucson-based store twice to complain about the lack of service we were getting, with no result. Finally, on the third trip and a very pointed e-mail we "began anew" with a Tucson-based salesman. It was a better experience (because he would actually return calls and e-mails), but the price ended up jumping several thousand dollars from the price we were finally quoted by the previous individual, as well as several thousand higher than the original bid we got a few years prior. At this point, I was fed up. We ended up going with another
-based business and we couldn't be happier so far. The communication is night and day from what we got with First Impressions. E-mails returned immediately, drawings done fast, etc. I wish the quality were the same, but the price is much better and it's still a pretty nice product. We wanted to go with First Impressions very, very badly, but we have to stand on principle and cannot reward abysmal customer service with our money.
My advice to anyone shopping with First Impressions is to be very wary of their sales staff, particularly one individual based in
. We were impressed with the quality of the product, but the level of customer service is very lacking compared to what it was a few years ago. There was nothing we did on our end to deserve the run-around we got from their salesman, and our complaints about him to other employees did not produce any results. We were ready to sign a contract, cash in hand, and we couldn't give our money to them because we were ignored. That's not a way to treat a customer, heck that's not a way to treat another human being. For this reason, I cannot and will not recommend this company.

The service was wonderful. I had the single pane windows and doors replaced with low-e double pane glass. The new windows look much better in the house than the old silver aluminum ones did and the replacement was accomplished without any damage to the stucco of the house as
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was able to slide the new windows right in. It is late April and I have yet to have to turn on the air conditioner at all and my electric bill has been cut in half. The professional and expertise of the service was wonderful and I would definitely use them again.

even helped me pick out what style of windows would work best in the house and I love them.

Met with Sale Rep
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
on Feb 13, 2014 to obtain a quote. Had visited their showroom on the north west side of town the prior week and scheduled the meeting. Was very impressed with the gates I had seen in their showroom. I reviewed the photos they have on their web site prior to meeting with
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and had a preliminary idea of what we wanted. I was very impressed with
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
's knowledge of gates and installation requirements including those associated with swimming pools.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
advised me what I could do and should do. We settled on a design for the three gates, two normal 5 ft gates and a 8' arched gate. He provided a quote. After discussing separately with my wife, I meet with
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
a week later and modified two of the gate designs and we signed a contract. Was told it could take 4 weeks to make but was contacted a week later to schedule delivery in a week.
Two installers showed up as scheduled (they called en-route to let me know their projected arrival time). The installers,

Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and

completed the installs in about 4 hours.
Approximately 3 weeks after the gates were installed, one of the bomber springs broke. I call First Impressions and they had a service tech out within two days and replaced the spring. I was concerned the gate wasn't closing reliably and he installed a second bomber spring. It has worked perfectly ever since.
We are very happy with the gates and I highly recommend First Impressions - their people are very knowledgeable, personable, respond quickly and they support and stand behind their products. Their gates are not inexpensive (thus the C rating for price) but they do exude quality. I would not hesitate to use them again.

They were great. They showed up on time, were very clean, even to the point of wearing paper booties over their shoes. They cut the stucco very neatly, installed the double flap dog door, sealed the edges with caulking, and vacuumed and cleaned everything up. They also kept all the wall parts and wrapped them up neatly for me to keep in case I wanted someday to removed the dog door and repair the wall. The door has been in place for 9 years now and it has been of excellent quality. I have two large dogs going in and out constantly and have not had to replace either of the flaps.

I don't know the words to explain how pleased I am. They were prompt, professional, and detailed with the work.

came out to measure & quote, measured again and then the installation process went smooth as silk. Everything from installation to touchup to caulking was done. Even helped me by installing thresholds so there was no gap at the bottom. And the quality was excellent. I have to admit I was nervous about the cost and wondered if I had taken on more than I should have. BUT I was SOOOO happy that I did. This will last and stand up for a long time. The welding, the better grade of metal and

size of the bars makes all the difference. I definitely did the correct thing and have absolutely no regrets! And the choice of making these doors personable with the different metal scenes or animals, makes you smile every time you walk up to your door. I would highly recommend that when it comes to security, don't cut costs and get it done right.

Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
came to view the job on Thursday and gave me a price for labor and materials. I agreed and he picked up all the materials that day and started work on Friday. Due to the condo being of older construction, things did not fit exactly. Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
showed me what he was going to do to make everything fit correctly and make it stronger than the original. I have to say that I find him to be most resourceful. In one case, he had to reframe the door opening to get things right. After he was almost done, I noticed some damage by a former tenant to the front door striker plate area. Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
fashioned a new piece of wood to replace the old and reinstalled the striker plate. After he was done with the installation, Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
painted all the necessary interior and exterior areas and suggested a different color for the door which turned out great. I am very pleased with the workmanship and the overall job Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
did. This is the second time I have used his services and continue to be very pleased.

Pat the salesman was a real professional, knew his products, helped us determine what we needed and worked out a good price for what appears to be a very good product. He sold us two windows. It took a couple of weeks to get them installed, largely because the installers were very busy. When the installers arrived they were on time, efficient, nice guys with a sense of humor, resourceful and efficient. They removed our old windows and installed the new ones. The job appears to have been very well done. The windows reduce energy loss from the rooms and help keep us warmer on cold nights and early mornings. They reduce the sound of traffic on Speedway and the firehouse across the street. We are very pleased and expect to get patio doors from this company as soon as we can afford them.

On initiial contact Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
said he charged $220/door and he would give me a multiple door discount for $170/door.
He said it would take him all day from 8:30am until dark or around 6:00pm. He explained he was professional and wouldn't rush so he may have to return a 2nd day to finish with trim etc. The following day he came out to see the job and stated that the door jambs were standard sizes so no jamb extentions would be required. He also stated he would need 3 tubes of sealant at $5@ so the bill would be $525 instead of $510. He arrived on Monday at 8:20am with an assistant. After installing the first and second door he informed me and my son that the doors needed door jamb extentions and it would be $5/door. My son offered to buy him and his assitant lunch instead and Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
agreed.
Later on Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was getting ready to load the old doors into his truck. I told Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
that I was keeping the old doors. He then stated that he planned on taking them and that's why he gave me a discount. This was never dicussed, not on the phone or when he came to see the job. The discount was a "multi-door" discount.
While he was outside he got a phone call and I heard him making an appt. with another customer for 4:00pm that day. He said it would take him all day to do my job so I was very surprised about this.
I never checked the doors before Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
left, he was articulate, intelligent, well groomed and appeared to be very trustworthy.
Several days later I had a tile man replacing tile in front of the doors and he noticed one of the doors was not staying closed. He also stated the he believed if door jamb extentions had been used the the concrete subfloor would not be exposed by 1 inch..
I texted Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
on Sunday night one week after installing the doors but got no response. I called on Monday morning and left a message and still no response. I called again Monday evening and he called back but the call dropped or he hung up because the call only
lasted 20secs. I felt very frustrated and called Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
on Tues. and told him that he needed to call me back on that day or I would get an ROC contractor to come and fix the doors then I would have to take him to small claims. He texted me back immediately with "don't call my phone and threaten me with a good time". I'm not sure what he was talking about. He showed up that evening to do the repair with a pistol on his hip which was very intimmidating. He would not look at me or acknowledge me. He stormed off mad saying the "
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was perfect" He later texted my son and told him that he would not deal with me anymore but would make a
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
adjustment to fix the "
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
". I hired a ROC licensed contractor to look at the doors. His name was
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
from Open Enclose.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
said the
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was off and that the door was not as true as it could be. I had
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
look at the other doors and he informed me that none of the doors had door jamb extentions installed that's why I had to pay for tile work to fix the gap Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
left when he agreed to install the extentions in exchange for lunch. I feel that Mr.
Tucson Door Installers Provider Name Locked
lied to me from the beginning and ripped me off on the door jamb extentions. He did a good job on two of the doors but messed up the last one. I would never hire him again or refer him to anyone.
