Oncology Reviews in Tampa

I had breast cancer 2 years ago and Dr.
was my oncologist, and he was excellent. He takes his time and answers all your questions. He writes everything down and when you walk out of there with a piece of paper with everything he said. You
’t have to go back and think what was going on. He has excellent bedside manner. The rest of his staff is excellent. Everybody in that office is wonderful. It’s been no problem at all with his availability and his appointments. They’ll try and accommodate you. I would continue to use his services in the future without a doubt.
- Howard P.

My husband was diagnosed with
cancer last spring after tests ordered by his pulmonary doctor & primary care practitioner were positive. We applied for appointment at
since we believed they would provide excellent care and advise. Exactly the opposite occurred. Even though we were uncomfortable after initial consultations, we did not feel we had the time to shop. His cancer was in an early stage, but they acted as if he was stage 4. The radiologist we saw was arrogant & spoke down to us as if we were stupid children. He did not allow us to ask questions about treatment options. We left there feeling trapped, hopeless and depressed. My husband had one chemo treatment at
. The lack of communication related to his treatment reinforced our impression that
's overall good reputation is likely the result of a good PR department. When we arrived at the infusion center for a late afternoon appointment that they arranged, we found out the oncology clinic neglected to provide everything needed. Infusion center could not get a response from the doctor or his nurse & I ended up running to the clinic where the oncologist's nurse finally showed up after being paged multiple times. After the treatment we were not informed about what the next steps would be and the oncology clinic repeatedly did not return multiple phone messages over the next several days. I thank God for the delayed recommendation from a friend that lead us to the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville. (Fortunately it happened before any standard radiation was started at
.) Proton treatment has far fewer side effects than any thing
offers. The chemo my husband was prescribed (by a Jacksonville oncologist referred to us by the Proton Institute) consisted of the same drugs
used but the dosage and treatment intervals were different. My husband finished his chemo & proton treatments in August. The common side effects from the chemo are just about gone and there are a couple of small brownish spots on his skin from the proton treatments. Other than those spots, my husband did not have any noticeable adverse effects from the proton treatments. His final CT scan indicated his tumor was 90% smaller than when he started proton treatments. He will have a PET in November to ensure there are no remaining active cancer cells. The providers in Jacksonville were excellent. The treatment was FIVE STAR. They never hesitated to answer our questions, nor did they give us impression our questions were not worth answering or stupid. Maybe other clinics a
are better, but I recommend looking long and hard before making decision.

Oncology reviews in Tampa

He is a really good oncologist and seems very capable and knew what to do right away. I was really impressed with his competence and he was a very nice well-mannered person. He seemed to be very up-to-date in his recommendations and findings. He knew the latest stuff.

I have been using his services for about two and a half years and I see him every week for chemo. My surgeon gave me six months to live in 2006 and I'm still here. He is very compassionate and is very caring. He keeps up with everything and works with my other doctors. He is a very nice person all around. My insurance covers the cost.
