"This was a very pleasant experience overall.
was quick to respond when first contacted and the estimate was quick and reasonable. His painters" always conducted themselves in a very respectful and professional manner. They were very careful with any furniture that had to be moved both inside and out. They cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis. They took a lot of time prepping the surfaces which resulted in a superior job. They were punctual. Because I started the job during the holiday season, they had to work around Thanksgiving and Christmas and the weather. Do be aware that once you get out of their rotation you have to be flexible when trying to get them back to finish. This is because they are very busy. They are still working to finish my job and it is January (not their fault). So if you can, try not to do the work during a holiday season so work does not have to be interrupted.

-Patricia G.

Zoinierowski did an honest and knowledgeable presentation of selling the job. His positive and well-documented approach made us comfortatlbe" that he would assure that all woudl go well. Ed, the supervisor of our four-day project was so positive with us and also wonderful with the two workers he was supervising. Professionalism reigned among all workers.
, the two gentlemen who were here for four days were respectful, attentive, and thorough. All personnel from
had our best interest at heart inluding trying two diferent stains which meant sanding a door again, in order to match the inside
. I was recovering from a December 2, 2014 knee replacement which mandated that I ice my knee via a machine. I was comfortable doing that while the men worked. I felt safe. Maybe best of all,
took amazing pride in their work and wanted not only to please me, but have a fine sense of a "job well done" on their part. I will use
again and I would ask for the same trustworthy and excellent workers again.

should painting or florring come first in a remodeling project (Photo by member Jane A. of Alpharetta, Ga.)

Remodeling tip: Should painting or flooring come first?

Angie Hicks responds to a member who wants to know whether interior painting should come before or after the installation of hardwood flooring.

Utilizing the proper tools can ensure the best paint job possible.

Interior Painting

Professional decorators say painting is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to dramatically change the look of a room. It's also one of the more accessible do-it-yourself projects for the homeowner, though a professional interior painting company will likely do a better and more long-lasting job.

You may prefer the lived-in look, but a hole in the wall makes your home look a little too lived in. A pro tells how to repair a hole yourself and save money.

Before you toss it, check the label. Some hazardous items — even batteries and ink cartridges — should be disposed safely, which doesn't mean at the curb! Why?

Have you ever had a leaky roof leave a water stain on your ceiling? Has your home settled over the years and you are starting to see stress fractures and nail heads popping out of the drywall?

These are the most common problems with ceilings, and unless they are addressed, they can be quite an eyesore. If you are ready to tackle the project yourself, follow these simple tips and you will have a freshly painted ceiling in no time.

Angie's Answers

That's very difficult to answer without seeing the house. As one poster said, the prep is the most important part. On newer homes that don't have a lot of peeling paint, the prep can be very minimal even as low as a couple or a few hundred dollars for the prep labor.

On a 100 year old home with 12 coats of peeling paint on it, then the prep costs can be very high and can easily exceed 50% of the job's labor cost.

A 2100 sq ft two story home could easily cost $1000 just for the labor to prep for the paint job. That number could climb too. Throw in lots of caullking  or window glazing, and you could be talking a couple or a few hundred dollars more for labor.

Painting that home with one coat of paint and a different color on the trim could run roughly $1000 or more just for labor. Add a second coat  and that could cost close to another $1000 for labor.

For paint, you may need 20 gallons of paint. You can pay from $30-$70 for a gallon of good quality exterior paint. The manufacturer of the paint should be specified in any painting contract. Otherwise, the contractor could bid at a Sherwin-Williams $60 per gallon paint and then paint the house with $35 Valspar and pocket the difference. $25 dollars per gallon times 20 gallons? That's a pretty penny too.

That was the long answer to your question. The short answer is $2000 to $4000 and up, depending upon the amount of prep, the number of coats, the amount of trim, and the paint used.

Hair spray is one of those things that is really bothersome.  We've run into this alot unfortunately.  And NOTHING we've found will actually clean it off.  The problem is that if you just paint over it, you still see shiny spots wherever the hairspray was.

Our companie's policy is to prime the area with any bonding primer.  This will seal the hairspray in and not let it affect the next coat of paint.  It would also be a good idea to lightly sand the area first.

Our recommendation for primer would be Zinsser's BIN Spray (red can) and can be bought at most paint stores or home improvement stores.  Other than that, any thing that specifically says "bonding" for a primer should be adequate enough.
Without seeing the project I'm not sure exactly what is happening.  HOWEVER, I've never heard of someone "floating" over paint blisters - just logically that can't work.  If air or moisture are trapped (because that's what causes blisters) painting over them won't fix the initial problem.

I have a couple suggestions - My first would have been to contact the paint manufacturer - whether it's sherwin williams, benjamin moore, behr, etc. to see if they would send a rep out to give their recommendation.  We have done this before starting a project to get the best possible recommendation for work to be done and have found them to be very helpful in diagnosing what is currently going on and the best way to fix it.

If that doesn't work, I would call either the better business bureau or maybe the local paper if your contractor isn't willing to work through the problem with you.  Also, If your contractor warrantied the work I might re-read that to see what they cover if anything.

My guess is that there will have to be some sort of dispute resolution process.

Hope this helps!
Yes - absolutely!  Refinishing is THE VERY BEST way to go to avoid tearing out a perfectly good bathtub that just LOOKS bad after years of use.  Go to the link below for some before and after refinishing pictures of acrylic tubs.

Tampa Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
came out for an estimate, was on time and even brought a carpenter with him. He was very nice and said he'd email me a quote that day. The next day I emailed asking again for the quote, and he replied saying he'd send it that day. I didn't receive it so I emailed him a THIRD time. He again replied saying he'd have it to me that night. I'm still waiting. I've noticed that he does this to others too. If you don't want to do a job, don't string them along. Simply say it's out of your scope of work. I don't get why he kept replying saying he'd get me a quote if he had no intention to.
- Dana S.

I’ve been using him since June. Scheduling was good and I never had an issue with that. He’s primarily a painting contractor, but he can also do handyman repairs. I like his communication; he tells me what’s going on and if he runs into any issues that he has to fix. He has no problems correcting any parts of the project.
- Barrett B.

The worker that prepared the drywall was excellent. He was a perfectionist and worked above and beyond what was expected of him. The two painters were very professional. They asked me to review their work to make sure I was satisfied. They didn't seem bothered when I asked them to touch up a small area.

It went well! My fiance and I were very impressed with
Tampa Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
when he came to give us a quote on services. He spent a lot of time pointing out little details about the work we needed that other companies did not address. He had the highest price out of everyone we got quotes from but we just liked him the most so we figured it was worth it. His team completed our project in 3-4 days. The paint looks great and the advice and guidance

offered though the process was very helpful. We are going to hopefully hire
Tampa Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
again to do out exterior soon! I wouldn't say
Tampa Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
is the most cost effective option but you get what you pay for and noone wants a bad paint job. It's worth paying a little extra to get someone who really knows what he is doing.

and his team are extremely professional. We couldn't be happier and will use them again (and again).

Bid process, project itself and follow-up were great and hassle-free.
I recommend as highly as possible

He won't show up to do work after it has been scheduled. He also wanted to have more work done for a higher price. He called this morning telling me that he had a big job that he had to finish that took priority over ours. They wanted nearly $2000 more for the work, which we told them that we didn't want to do.

I left 2 messages on

Tampa Interior Painters Provider Name Locked
was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. He made good suggestions on paint selection and priming the repaired wall which was completed by the homeowner. He was priced very competitively.
We were able to start the project in a couple of days (fortuitous timing).

arrived on time the first day. They assisted in moving the furniture out of

way and replacing it when they were finished. He was able to blend the new orange peel to the old reasonably well. He was honest and straight forward about the limits of matching new to old. It turned out very nicely.
The project was completed in the estimated 2 days. We supplied the paint based on

's conservative estimate. We did need to get one more

but we knew that was a possibility from the estimate discussion. They cleaned up well. I only found a couple of stray drips that were easily dealt with.
We discussed a second major paint project and expect that we will use him again.
