"They have an outdoor pool, and when they had open
Tampa Fitness Centers Provider Name Locked
, if I wanted to do laps, they would section a part off so that I could do it. It was heated also, so I could use it all year round. The price was excellent, the standard monthly family membership when we first applied was $77 for a family of up to two adults and two children, and was the same whether I had two children or no children. When I asked about reduced rates for those who couldn’t afford those rates, they said they had a type of sponsorship program, where if I provided the information, and depending upon individual circumstances, they may be able to sponsor all of my membership through donations. There was a pool on the base, but it was a recreational pool, and was open only during the summer, the city also has an outdoor pool quite close to my house, but that too was open only during summer. I wanted some place where I could go and swim when all the other places were closed, and since I only wanted to use the swimming pool, and I wasn’t making that much money, I gave them the information and told them about my circumstances, and they took those things into consideration and came back with an offer of 90% off. We paid $7.70 a month and we could go to any

anywhere, so even when traveling, we could use the facilities. The quality varies from facility to facility, the older and heavily used ones are a bit rundown, while the newer ones are gorgeous, I

’t feel like I am in the

at all. The communication and customer service are excellent, anytime I walk into the facility, they ask me if the can help me, or if I am looking for anything.

"Since the change from Xtreme to Choice, it has gone down hill. The men's locker room is disgusting! I have seen leaks in the roof, toilets clogged, un-vacuumed carpet, paper all over the floor, grime on the shower floors and the shower curtains covered in mildew. If the health department saw the state of this alone, they should either fine them or close them down. Their workout equipment is good, but the cardio equipment is very outdated. Most of the elliptical machines have been there for 10 years or so. "

"I was greeted in a friendly manner, not pressured by a sales staff person, invited to try out the club without having to secure my visit with a credit card nor did I have to pay for my trial visit. My experience with health clubs has been a hard sell approach and this is very difficult for me in the past. Even though I am fairly comfortable with my fitness level most clubs make you feel intimidated by the general atmosphere. I found the staff at Powerhouse to be approachable and helpful."

"Location could be cleaner, gets a little grubby. Wish they would enforce

about towels and wiping machines down when finished. They also allow people in street clothes on machines. People camp out on equipment at times making curcuit training difficult. "

"I loved it at
Tampa Fitness Centers Provider Name Locked
. I no longer go there because I don't live in the area, but it was great. Everyone was always very friendly. I am overweight so it would have been easy for me to be self-conscious, but I never felt that way. It's not a "pick up joint" kind of place. It really does have a nice neighborhood atmosphere. Also, I loved the late hours. It was perfect for me because sometimes I work late. Also the trainers are very knowledgeable and encouraging. I did 3 initial meetings and it was terrific, really got me on track!!!"

"Seems like the whirlpool and sauna are always broken. They offer showers but, the water is highly chlorinated. Weight room is small, equipment is old/outdated, not enough small weights, trainers hog the equipment and room, the trainers don't customize routines to each person because they only know one type of routine. So, they push the "we believe in total fitness." This means that when you pay a trainer for a session, you can't request them to teach you knew exercises for you stomach or techniques for leg and arm exercises. They tell you that they don't "spot train." So, you have to take your 1 hour session and waste it learning how to "warm up" and "cool down" or touch your toes. They waste your time teaching you things that you may already know and practice. The membership fees for a family of two people is $180/month plus we had to pay a large upfront fee (approximately $500). The aerobic is good but, the best classes get packed."

"I have found the equipment always in good working order. Staff is very friendly and professional. No pushy Personal Trainers, although I would recommend one if just starting out. I think personal training rates are reasonable. I had one for over 2 months. I have never had to wait to use a treadmill or other cardio equipment, even just before the holidays! I see the center being cleaned constantly, no matter what time of day I have been. They have a kids care area during some AM and PM hours while you work out. My 7 y/o son loves it. They have a dry sauna (THAT WORKS!). They also offer various group classes, which I think is included in most if not all membership plans, and a spinning class and tanning for additional fee. I have been very happy with my choice of this facility. My wife also goes to one of their sites in St.

"I joined the Egypt Lake Curves when it was quite new, so I got to know the two owners. I have found that this club is especially good at doing special incentive programs designed to motivate you to push yourself to do well. There is constantly some contest going on that you are welcome to join, or just ignore if it's not your thing. They also offer extra classes on nutrition.
Tampa Fitness Centers Provider Name Locked

"Overall my experience is great. They know how to make you feel special although they have many members. Hundreds... But you still feel as if you are the only one each time you enter the doors. Child care is excellent."
