"Completely unreliable and no regard for customer's time or well being. They did not show up to their scheduled appointment which we had waited 5 days for." We called them and left voicemails and they never called back. As a result our family and
baby went 1.5 weeks without a dryer and unable to do any laundry. I would not recommend trusting your family's needs to this company.

"The service technician (Buzz), was very professional, knowledgeable, and informative. He took apart the entire fireplace, cleaned all the parts that were usable," and replaced the parts that had failed due to age (12 years), he even spray painted the fireplace metals that were starting to rust with a heat resistant paint. Buzz came in and was very careful not to make any mess, he created a work are with a plastic sheet, before beginning the repair process. After fixing the fireplace, he gave me a detailed explanation of how to care for and take care of the fireplace. He spent 2 hours at our home, and when he left, our fireplace looked brand new, Buzz did a really good job, and I would highly recommend this company.

Fireplaces

Most people enjoy sitting in front of a fire on a cold day, but traditional, wood-burning fireplaces come with a few disadvantages. They tend to waste energy, require maintenance and pose some risk. Read this guide to discover several alternatives that provide the same ambiance, but with fewer downsides.

Dear Angie: How much can I expect to pay to have my wood fireplace converted to gas? Our house is about 30 years old. The bottom of the fireplace looks like it's easily accessed through the basement. The conversion would involve running 30 to 50 feet of gas line. — Thomas M., Cincinnati, Ohio

He hasn't legally abandoned the job as long as he is still showing up and doing something, even if it is very little, from time to time.  You'll have to fire him first.  Have documentation that the job is not being done in a timely manner, showing when he has and has not worked.  Be ready for a fight and probably a legal battle since he will likely still want more money or won't refund money paid for incomplete work.

Change the locks and inform the contractor their services on your property are terminated.  Tell him if anyone representing his company enters your property they will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted.  Then hire another company to check the work he has done to make sure it is right.  Somehow I doubt it is given the nature of his work ethic.  Then have the new contractor repair any bad workmanship and finish the job.  Keep records as any documented things that have to be redone will help your case against the first contractor.

I would recommend finding a good hearth retailer in your area and work with them to select a stove that is right for your home. They should also be able to arrange for certified installer to handle the installation. Keep in mind many areas require a city or county permit for the installation, and it may be wise to have the chimney and fireplace inspected by a certified chimney sweep beforehand.

EXCELLENT. Ordered me a new water heater and installed it -- all less than 24 hours after I called, and
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
seemed like he was disappointed he hadn't gotten it done SOONER! Just a great, competent, conscientious, efficient outfit. HIGHLY recommended. (Oh, and the water heater works great.)

I contacted
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
by email through Angie's List and I received a very quick reply.
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
came to my house to provide his recommendations and a quote the next day. He suggested to wait with the gas line installation until the grill had arrived, so he could test the proper working of the grill. Once the grill arrived I contacted
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
again and made an appointment for three days later.
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived on time and completed the installation of the gas line (about 10 ft) in about 45 minutes. He was professional and did a nice job. He tested the grill and all worked well. Overall a very positive experience and it seems that
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
is an expert in gas.

Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
is great to work with. I had
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
out before Christmas to install a new gas water heater and fix my gas fireplace that hasn't been working right for years. In addition to fixing it, he went above and beyond and recommended a remote control to operated the fireplace that I love! I would highly recommend
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
anytime you need a fair, straight shooting gas man who tells it like it is. I feel like I got a fair deal on the new water heater and fireplace repair ($780), and
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
didn't even charge for the attempted gas cooktop replacement. His prices were a lot more reasonable than anyone else I called who were listed on Angie's List. Defintely, would nominate Advance Gas Works for any Angie's List awards for providing great service. Already have recommended
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
to both my next door neighbors who have already used him.

We had just moved into the house about a month before and I called
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
to come out and check our fireplace. He did a thorough inspection on the chimney and fireplace and then cleaned what little it needed because he said it looked good. He was able to replace the mesh gate that was pretty beat up and he didn't even charge me. He went on the roof to check the chimney hood and he said that was in good condition as well. He had asked me since we just moved in if I would turn on my dryer just to see if the vent was working properly because he didn't want to see us have a fire caused by the vent not blowing out the air and lint properly.
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
did an awesome job and would recommend him for all his services. Thank you.

The gentleman they sent was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He inspected the fireplace and chimney inside and out, even went up on the roof. Pointed out a few safety issues to me. He did a worst-case estimate to get it functional again. Due to the cost we haven't been able to do the full work yet, but I would definitely hire
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
's to do it once we have the money.

Mr.
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
did a fabulous job repairing my fireplace. I recently purchased my 1952 home and the previous owner had cut a hole in the fire box, installed a
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
pipe and sealed the chimney. He was very straight forward with his estimate and explained everything, answering all my questions. We set an appointment for the repair & he was prompt, efficient, and very respectful of my home. He showed me everything he had done, how everything worked and cleaned up after himself when finished. When he arrived to give me the estimate, my neighbor stopped by & asked him to give her an estimate as well. He did and cleaned her chimney and repaired her fireplace the same day he fixed mine. We are both very pleased with Mr.
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
and would highly recommend him & his company.

If you want a budget outdoor kitchen done relatively well and you are not detail oriented/particular then this is probably a good company to hire. We had an outdoor kitchen with grill, sink, hood, drawers, fridge installed and also had them install an outdoor propane fireplace. We had granite counter tops and manufactured stone veneer/siding on everything installed including some outdoor columns.

The good:
During design and picking of products, modifications of design, planning stages, they are awesome. Responsive, knowledgeable and easy to work with. They are efficient and get work done on time and quickly. They come in on budget and don't try to add a bunch of stuff or push specific products. They have a great website with lots of ideas and have some obvious experience in the field.

The bad:
Workmanship is simply average. Any other description is an overstatement what we had done. Examples include:
1) A broken control panel for the hood that was installed despite being cracked
2) Thinset mess: it looked like they had a snowball fight with Thinset on my new pavers. I mean there was Thinset caked on a new paver installation (at least 80 pavers involved) and it could not be power washed off. The damage was minimized when the pavers were sealed (months later) which makes seeing that Thinset harder, but, oh my God, how about a drop cloth or something. My pool was being remodeled at the time and the pool contractors actually these guys to stop mixing Thinset on the new pavers (this is how obvious the oversight was).
3) Granite edging: they do all their own granite work and will tell you in advance that they don't radius cut any granite. These is not indoor kitchen quality granite edging/cutting and you should see some examples of their granite work before installation if you want to be prepared for the final outcome. The edging is uneven and only moderately well polished. I understand it is outdoor. I considered a granite upgrade but went with standard granite and am really happy I did not shell out extra money to have a nice piece of granite cut by them.
4) We had some Cultured Stone (manufactured stone) installed on the outdoor columns on the lanai. The stones went halfway up the column and then the column extended to the ceiling. For a couple of the stones on the top
Tampa Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
where it transitioned to the column, they had cut the stone longitudinally and installed them with the cut surface facing up. So basically, you were looking a flat and cut piece of manufactured stone at waist level mixed with properly installed (cut down) pieces of stone. It really was quite ridiculous.
5) The kitchen actually deviated from the plan measurements more than one would expect for a precise installation. It ended up bigger than designed which bothered my wife but didn't bother me too much (I mean they charge based on size so this was basically a free upgrade), but the deviation/lack of accuracy was typical of overall workmanship.
6) They installed some crushed granite (granite stucco) on the top of the columns and hood and this installation was sloppy enough that you could actually see the underlying material (i.e. granite stucco applied so unevenly and thin as to not cover underlying material).

While they were partially responsive to coming and fixing that list (and that's a truncated list), we were overall disappointed with the details of the workmanship. They were reasonably priced so I think we got what we paid for, but I might have in hindsight I might have looked elsewhere and saved myself some headaches. They do their own electrical, plumbing, and roofwork if installing a hood vent. They almost adamantly refuse to allow you to get subcontractors to make sure those things are up to code. This keeps cost down, but there are risks. Ultimately, I ended up doing my own TV, lighting, fan installations outside (they had offered to do them) because I was uncertain as to the quality of the installation.
