"We have a double sliding glass door in the master bedroom and a triple sliding glass door in the family room leading to the lanai. Both are 20 years old and didn't slide smoothly. In addition, the slider in the bedroom didn't lock. I was pleasantly surprised when

answered the phone on a Sunday, and even more pleasantly surprised when he said he and a colleague could come to my house that same afternoon. Within two hours,

and

arrived and replaced the worn-out rollers on both main sliding glass doors. They worked quickly and efficiently and the sliders now open and close with the touch of a finger. (After repairing the master bedroom slider, it now locks secureIy.) I couldn't be more pleased and recommend them highly to anyone with old sliders that need to be repaired.

"Great! I can open that door with two fingers and it's so quiet! The door used to rattle and shake and made a lot of noise and was just difficult. They were a little late, but we had received a notification call from the office.

"Everything went exactly according to plan. Installation exactly as stated. Measurements correct. Installer cleaned up after himself.
They work with an independent contractor to stain or paint the door according to owners' wishes so that was separate but this was all clearly explained from the start.
I "penciled" myself into door stainer's schedule when I ordered the door so I didn't have to wait long to get the whole job done & complete. Stainer was prompt, courteous, professional & did an excellent job.
They only carry fiberglass doors (with many kinds of glass or no glass inserts & can do custom designs).

I did my own research on front doors/styles/ hardware/ new technologies, etc. so that made things easier because I knew what I wanted.

"I contacted this company and on April 26 signed a contract to have our sliding glass doors replaced. My husband and I were quite specific about the height of the riser. Our ages are 84 and 75. I had taken a fall about a year ago, so safety was our goal. Because of frequent use a custom order on the contract specifies a riser of no more than 1 5/8". If that were not possible then we would repair the existing doors. 05/01/13 - Payment of ½ ($1687.50) was made by credit card to facilitate the order. The end of May the installer said the doors were received with scratched glass and since it could not be buffed out we were told they would be returned to the manufacturer. This put the installation off. 07/01/13 – During installation I noticed that the riser did not conform to our original order. At my request work was stopped and the office contacted. At this point it is important to know that the removal of the old doors destroys everything in the process. I was told the manufacturer no longer makes the smaller riser. This was a custom order! I should have been informed preceding installation. Having a hole in an exterior wall 6 ½ feet high and 6 feet wide meant I had no choice except to let them proceed. I was upset. On 07/24/13

, General Manager came over to discuss the riser. This time our son, a Structural Engineer, was present. My son inquired as to the absence of a City Permit and stated that the height of the riser was important because he did not want his parents tripping and falling. 08/02/13 -

Notice of Commencement form. I was very uncomfortable doing that and called the office to let them know.

later hand delivered a copy of the Commencement to us filled out with my signature notarized by someone I had never met. 10/11/13 - We were informed by email from

Doors (ASD) that a city inspector would be coming to inspect the installation and someone would have to be home all day as they do not set times. No one came or called. 10/14/13 - I called the city inspector and asked him about the pending inspection. I was told the Notice was never filed. At that time he informed me that I should be aware that there are laws protecting the elderly and offered to put me in touch with someone he knows in the police department. In the meantime I had filed claim with both my credit card companies. I had put half of the payment on each card as a way to insure the work. 10/16/13 - Received an email from
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
of ASD to reschedule the inspection. 10/30/13 - The City Inspector came by on this date, but the doors did not pass due to the fact that he could not see the fasteners that connected the track to the wall. 11/08/13 - The City Inspector came by again and this time an employee from ASD also came to remove the trim so the Inspector could determine that they would pass inspection. 11/02/13 - I received a letter from one credit card company saying they were pleased to inform me that the complete amount I had charged to my account ($1687.50 ½ of the total) would be refunded to me. 11/11/13 - I received a letter from the other credit card company stating the conditional credit they gave me (also $1687.50 the other half of the charge) was denied as my husband had signed the contract accepting the doors. I found this situation odd as both cards are with the same bank at the same address. At one point ASD was going to fix the riser by cutting it down. The manufacturer warranties the doors for 10 years. Any alteration would nullify that warranty. I am reluctant to accept any resolution from ASD as I originally had and have a Custom Order contract signed by them which they did not fulfill as they should have. 12/13/13 - Received a call from ASD from a
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
saying she was going through some paperwork and saw the doors passed inspection and asked for payment. They never followed the contract and did not inform me prior to the removal of the existing doors thereby leaving me no choice except to let them proceed. And there are scratches on the glass of one of the doors.

was the most professional during the bidding process and gave the most reasonable price. Overall, they were great to work with. Our timeline took a longer than expected, but they went above and beyond to make sure the finished product was exactly what we wanted. Their AC subcontractor was very disappointing, but the rest were great to work with. Our project manager was very nice and easy to get in contact with through the project. Felt like he was a great advocate for us. We would use them again, but would nail down the timeline a little more firmly. Pleased with the result and appreciate that they stood behind their work and their price.

"**WARNING!**
My home warranty co. randomly picked this place to fix my broken garage door spring. I called them on Friday (11/1) as they were located 1+ hrs away to see if I could take pictures and send them to eliminate a trip to the house. They said to go ahead and send pictures and they will see what they can do but they may still need to come out. I took 10 pics and sent them. I received this email in return:

Mr. -------
This is definitely a special order spring. We have ordered it. As soon as we receive it, we will contact you and schedule an appointment to get it replaced. It normally takes 3-4 business days. Thank you for taking the pictures and sending them. This will expedite the service.

Parts Manager
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
.
863-667-0715 (Telephone)

(Based on her email they should have been out on Nov 6-7th to fix it)
She called me on Thursday 11/7 stating the part would be in next Tuesday 11/12 and they would be out on Wednesday 11/13 to fix. I questioned her on why it said 3-4 days and now its going to be almost 2 weeks. Immediately she started making excuses that the people who send the emails are not the same people who order the parts etc…I asked how it was then possible that the email says 3-4 days from the parts manager? Then it was another story about how they have to specially make the springs for the doors etc…(I was simply trying to understand why it went from 3-4 days to 12) it turned into a finger pointing match within the co. and I felt she was being dishonest at this point and probably didn’t order the part on the day they said. I then asked if they were on Angie’s List and the phone went dead silent for about 3 seconds. She abruptly stated that “Sir, we have gone above and beyond because we didn't come out on a service call and waste your time, we took your word for it and ordered the part based on your pictures….I interrupted her an said, WHAT?! You’ve gone above and beyond? I’m the one who suggested it. I then became upset that their poor service was now being claimed as a favor to me. I asked at least 6 times if they were on Angie’s List and not only would she not answer me, she continually interrupted me and talked over me. She finally said “I
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
’t know if we are on Angie’s List”, so I asked who would know? She said “Hold on, I’ll check” I was put on hold and after about 60 seconds the phone went dead and when I tried to call back, nobody would answer. Several minutes later I received and email from my insurance co. that they had transferred the contract to someone else. Did she just seriously hang up on me, refuse to answer the call and then refuse service because I questioned their service quality and asked if they were on Angie’s List? Yep...she just did.

Let me say something here – not only did they treat me with total disrespect, she also told me on the phone that they BROKE POLICY BECAUSE THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO AN ONSITE VISIT BEFORE ORDERING ANY PARTS! I had no idea and she never said anything about a policy requirement when I offered to take the pictures. I had to call the Ins. Co. after this to find out what was going on and she also explained to me that they broke policy and this may jeopardize their contact with the Ins. Co. for failing to follow the policy! DO YOU WANT PEOPLE WORKING ON YOUR HOME WHO ARE WILLING TO SKIP ON POLICY REQUIREMENTS? HOWEVER, When I actually was able to get a co. from Angie’s list here to fix the spring they called me on Friday and they showed up Monday and the guy had both springs on the truck. He also told me THEY MUST come onsite and measure the springs diameter because they can be as small as 1/16th difference and when he changed mine, I had two different size springs so whatever they ordered at
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
most likely would NOT have been the correct one and they may have just put it on anyways and I would
have never known it was the wrong size spring. I BELIEVE IF THEY ARE WILLING TO BREAK POLICY THEN THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO BE DISHONEST IN OTHER AREAS AS WELL.

and helper(did not get helper name) were very professional and completed the job in an efficent and quality manner. They worked together as a team and that made the job smooth and quick.
I called the week before and left a message and
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
called back pretty quick. She was nice and was willing to make an appointment for two days later BUT I moved them to the Friday so I could be home when they came.
They were alittle late showing up but a previous job in St
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
held them up and they were very considerate by calling at least 2 times to advise of time update. I can understand about traffic so I can't blame them for the short lag.
Job was done in professional manner and both of the guys were very codial.
The price was exactly as quoted by
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
. I did think that it was a little high but as they had good ratings on Angies I was willing to pay rather than take a
Tampa Door Installers Provider Name Locked
on getting some jerk. As they are very good at their jobs, I guess the price was not that far out of line and it was right on the quote. No suprises, they did a great job.
I will hire again if the need comes up.
