"The level of work they put into my master / guest bathroom and kitchen was top notch professional. The money we were able to save was the deciding factor on going" with this company verses getting new cabinets. I would recommend and use them in the future. If something was not to our satisfaction, (salesman), made it right and saw to it that we were happy. Everything was explained and written in the contract before any work was started. Good job .

-Reginald H.

" 's price was inline with what I expected and he was transparent in the cost breakdown so I knew what was being charged. On the day of" service, he arrived early and was helpful in walking me through the process so I understood all the steps and his time frame. He and his assocate took great care to cover any items that could not be removed from the kitchen or bath. This was helpful because, no matter their care, there was going to be dust from the stripping and spraying. (don't think this is a clean process!) The end result was fantastic! I am extremely pleased with his work, his customer service, and his general good nature. is a hoot! His pricing was the best I found and his work was solid and efficient.

bathtub refinishing

Bathtub Liners and Refinishing

Over time, the bathtub can begin to show signs of wear with stains, scratches, a dull finish or other ugly marks. Bathtub refinishing is an option that can return a bathtub or shower enclosure to like-new appearance.

Dear Angie: We're remodeling our bathroom. Which is better to help increase the resale value of our home: a tub, a shower and one sink; or a big shower and two sinks? – Cal Z., Lakewood, OH

OK - terminology issue here. The "shower pan" is a collection liner than underlies the shower floor itself, and is designed (if built and plumbed right) to trap any leakage from the shower floor and route it to the same floor drain pipe. Example image here, copper in this case -

It sounds like your are saying the shower floor or base unit failed - likely a fiberglass or plastic shower, which commonly fail due to incomplete support under them. This can be repaired if fiberglass, but is not usually done unless just microcracking, as it is hard to find an expert - usually you have to have a car body fiberglass specialist or a surfboard repair expert do it, and the color will not match perfectly unless you get a new gelcoat over the entire base unit. Cost about $300-500, ASSUMING the material can be repaired - true fiberglass can, thermoplastic can sometimes be welded but anyone's guess how long it will last without cracking again, plastics like PVC can rarely be fixed so they will hold someone standing on them. Any sort of repair is likely to crack again, because you have done nothing to remove the cause of the cracking which is standing on a base that is not fully supported over its full extent. Some cheepo or desperate plumbers try injecting non-pressuring type expanding foam underneath to improve the support - this does a great job of supporting it but unfortunately supports mold, so starts stinking in short order as a rule.

The normal fix is to remove and replace it, because once it is out there is no sense in putting a damaged one back in for the small increment in cost. Removing it means taking the shower wall liners or the bottom row or two of tile out so you can get the new base unit into place (because they overlap it), then replacing them. So, the $3000 range indicated is indicative of this type of job, which typically runs from a very low of around $1500-2000 for an identical base unit, to more typically $3-5,000 depending on whether a shower enclosure or tile walls. Of course, when the new one is put in, it is CRITICAL that it be fully supported - this means rubbing plumbers rouge or similar marking substance on the bottom, test fitting it, and then lifting it out and checking that all the stiffener ribs and support pads made contact with the pan, and making adjusments as necessary until it has full contact, then standing in it and rocking back and forth to check for any points not making full contat and fixing them.

The $10,000 plus numbers you got must have been for entire shower replacement down to the joists and studs, and the $30,000 range number would be typical for a full bathroom remodel with new shower or shower/tub and doors and surround, wall finishes, vanity, sink, toilet, and flooring and door.

Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Tampa

was fantastic!!! I really cannot believe I waited this long to do this, he did a perfect and clean job, he was very professional and friendly and I am so happy with the job! you cannot tell that unit was a giant eyesore before worked his magic on it!
- Jennifer G.

Fantastic from start to finish! Quality work for a good price! Very easy to deal with! Always returned my phone calls! Took time to explain the process and answer all my detailed questions!
I had 4 companies give me estimates to reglaze my bathroom tub and tile surround. I chose and Buck ...More of because of their good price, excellent product and fantastic customer service.
Prior to hiring , I spoke with on multiple occasions getting a price quote and asking questions. He never responded negatively or talked down to me because I was unfamiliar with the process. He was thorough in describing what he would do and each step of the process - strip, clean, prime and paint.
The project took 2 days and they arrived promptly on both days. They told me that the primer and paint does have a strong smell. They mitigated it as best they could with a vent and fan to the outside. They told me that the smell would eventually dissipate as I have the air conditioning on continuously.
They worked tirelessly on the first day meticulously stripping and cleaning the tub and tile surround.
On the second day they finished prepping the tub, tile and room for the spraying of the primer and paint. They took their time in applying adequate coats of the primer and the paint. As explained it to me, they put on enough primer and paint to ensure that they cover the tub and tile completely (each job is different and may require more/less coats). They cleaned the area thoroughly and removed all of their own trash.
After they finished, we gave me a sheet with care and cleaning instructions for the tub and tile (which by the way are the same instructions for brand new tubs and tiles) and spent 20 minutes discussing the instructions and answering all of my questions about what we can, can't and shouldn't do with the tub and tile and what would void their 5 year warranty (no soap left on the surface, avoid dropping bottles onto the surface, no rubber mats with suction cups).
Bottom line is that my tub and tile look sparkling new! I am thrilled with the work they performed!
Without hesitation I recommend for any of your reglazing needs!
- Robert G.

Pat the owner, came the next day after I called and was right on time. He gave me an estimate on the phone. When he arrived, he explained what he could do and I told him to proceed. He did a very good job and you could not see where the spot had been when he finished. He was a very pleasant person to deal with and his price was very competitive. ...More It was less than he had quoted me on the phone. I would certainly call him again if I had other work to do.
- Gene W.

It went very well. stayed with his phone estimate. Arrived on time and worked quickly. The result is that the entire tub enclosure looks brand new. Very honest; he did not reglaze a sink which he indicated that I should actually replace instead of reglaze. Overall, I am very pleased with the work.
- Craig J.

Showed up on time for the estimate as well as the repairs. Estimate time originally quoted for the work was accurate. Work was performed professionally. I have recommended Absolute to many friends and family
- Marilyn L.

This guy is amazing and I don't get that amazed. As a matter of fact, this is the absolute first time I've posted results on since I joined over six years ago. My opinion is that if you advertise for a service, I pay you for that service, and the service is what I paid for, then you are doing your job. But this guy ...More is above and beyond his advertising. So, here's my story. I wasn't using at the time, but google. I found a guy in St. and he referred me to this guy because he didn't do business across the bridge. I called him and was waiting for him to call me back, and in the meantime, I looked him up on . He had great reviews. Well, he called me back shortly and asked me specific questions about my tub issues. I told him that I had a Jacuzzi that needed work and a regular metal tub that had rusted that also needed work. After answering his questions, he quoted separate prices for each. He then asked me to send pictures, if possible. So, I did. He showed up on time and started work immediately. He only asked that I remove bathroom items (cleaners, towels, et. .) so that they would not get ruined. He worked continuously and without assistance (owner-provider) until he was done. He told me that he didn't realize that the job was as big as it was, though I had accurately described it and gave pictures. He acknowledged that I did a good job of describing the issues and the photos were excellent, but that he should have come out and looked at it first. He apologized that with the work of the first tub, hat he would have to come back another day for the second, Jacuzzi tub. He finished the first tub and it was "brand new"! It looked like I just ordered it and had it put in. Then, he went to the other tub for a second look, sprayed some of his special spray onto it, wiped it, and stated that I didn't need to have it recovered. Wow! That one would have been more than the first tub and here is this guy saying I didn't need it done! You don't get more honest than that! So, I got two beautiful tubs for $280.00. One was a rust issue and one was a drain issue (I needed a drain that didn't have the gasket, which didn't allow the water to drain). I got the correct drain, he cleaned everything, and it is a new tub. This guy is an anomolie in Tampa! I highly suggest that if you are looking to rejuvinate an old tub, that you call him first. Finally, he is one of the most clean people I have ever had in my house to do work. He arrives with his own supplies, cleans as he goes, and leaves the bathroom spotless. All I can say is if you bypass this guy in your for a tub guy, you will be missing out.

Work was scheduled to begin on 10/16. We received a call on 10/10 asking if could start on 10/13. We agreed. Mr. showed up as planned and worked diligently for the next 8 working days. Throughout the project, and especially during the demolition, he was careful to protect our property. This ...More was important because a portion of the existing shower needed to be protected from damage (no replacement tiles existed or could be purchased). Throughout the project he conferred with us about options, such as tile layout pattern and grout color. He employed techniques most likely to enhance both cosmetic and structural performance. For example, he could have replaced a bench in the shower with a wooden frame covered with drywall and tile. Instead he constructed a cinderblock and cement board structure that was completely waterproofed, then covered with tile. It is far sturdier and less likely to develop cracks and leaks than the original construction. While his bid was not the cheapest, he never engaged in upselling or "unforeseen costs" scenarios. He did a quality job for the quoted price. The result was attractive and likely to be much more durable than the original.

and his partner showed up on time just as they promised. He called us 30 minutes before arriving to once again verify our address and location.
They did job of repairing the chips on the of our bathtub. We had just installed a new shower door and in the process, the installers ...More chipped the front of our tub. It was very obvious and unsightly. repaired the chips so that you cannot even tell they were ever there. They took their time and made sure the white matched the white on our tub and it is a beautiful job. We are so absolutely excited about the results!! and is worth the cost and they drove over to Hillsborough County from St Petersburg to do this repair.
I would call them anytime we needed a bathroom repair.
Thank you !
