Customer claims car turned into 'hazardous time bomb'

COMPLAINT: Jane Youn, Palm Harbor, Fla.

"I hired Just Brakes on Gulf to Bay Boulevard in Clearwater [Fla.] to repair my brakes. I paid $613.89 for the service. On my drive home, I noticed a faint noise, but figured it was just the pads being broken in. The next day, however, there was a horrible grinding and rubbing noise. I brought it back to Just Brakes, and they took it apart and put it back together again. I drove off and the noise started again after just two blocks.

"The manager told me it was just "brake weather." I took the car to my dealership, and they found my brakes full of metal shavings, the rotors being ground down and the brake lines a foot too long. Just Brakes had turned my car into a hazardous time bomb waiting to fail. I paid the dealership $563.33 to fix the problem correctly."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like a $613.89 refund and a written apology."
