Siding reviews in Saint Paul

The siding went as well as expected with the exception of running out of some product(corners) and weather issues, which caused a delay. Also there was some miscommunication with some color. The generic coil was a poor match, but after contacting CraneBoard, their matching siding(20 linear ft) was ordered, shipped, and installed. Even with delays, it took about a month, which was acceptable to me considering the delivery time on some of the special orders.
Buck is very knowledgeable and responsive to all calls.
The crew worked hard and did a very good job overall.
The only complaints that I really have about the work is that some of the plants were trampled(a couple didn't survive) and some cleanup. As I mentioned before, they removed drop-in FullBack insulation. This stuff brake and leaves thousands of small pieces of insulation everywhere and is very difficult to remove from the ground, especially the rocks(landscaping). Even though they send a guy out with a shredder/vac for about 3 hours you could hardly tell anything was done. I tried my shredder/vac which didn't do the job either. Bottom line each piece would have to be picked up by hand to thoroughly clean the area. Also there were a lot of nails mostly in the rocked area.

It was an absolutely awful experience from start to finish. After 2 years of asking them to come back and fix the very substantial leaks in the garage and kitchen, they stopped returning my calls.

was the

contractor. He is not a roofing expert but continued to act as though he was. My garage roof was not leaking before they replaced the roof. It has not stopped leaking since they replaced it.

is arrogant and refused to call in an actual roofing expert. He continually insisted that the problems were with my house and not with their work. When I had a roofing expert come out, they quickly saw the problems that

created. When

built my new chimney they did not build a chimney saddle to tie it into the roof line to prevent leaking. My kitchen ceiling is now ruined and needs repair. They also installed the flashing upside down around the chimney and between the garage and the house.Which is the actual cause of the leaking. Not the crazy excuses

continued to give me the past 2 years.
When they were removing existing brick from the ffont of house and garage, they assured me they would not damage shrubs and perennials planted there. I offered to move them and they said it was not necessary. Then their crew proceeded to pull off the bricks and let them drop on my landscaping - damaging and killing several shrubs and plants. They also helped themself to using my plastic garden cart for hauling away brick debris - ruining it. When I asked to be reimbursed for actual damaged shrubs and plants they gave me $100 and told me that their lawyers would

I would never, ever, ever use this company for anything. I can't believe they are actually on Angie's list.

I am so disappointed in this company.

was very responsive when I requested a bid for our our roof project. They came out right away and explained the bid and the timeline, the sales guy told me the crew would work very hard and clean up everything before they left. Once we sent in our deposit though, all bets were off. No one ever followed up to tell us what to expect in the roofing process. I got a call from them on a Wednesday to let me know that our project had been pushed from that day to another day. Which would have been fine and good service had I been told about the initial scheduling date.
We were mailed a brief flyer telling us to move chairs and patio tables inside because they could be broken with falling debris from the roof. So we did that. Everything that was even remotely close to the house was moved indoors. That's all we knew to do. No one called us to tell us what was needed of us on the day of the project so we were unaware that the crew would need a power source. Since there are no outlets on the outside of our house we would have needed to arrange something in advance. In the end, the crew foreman went to our neighbor's house to access her outlet. When we got home that night the crew was still working. In the process of the job, they had broken a small frog statue that was on the far corner of your yard. Not in the path of the workers. There was debris from the job everywhere in the yard. The foreman told us to use a path along the side of the house to take our dog to the bathroom. Luckily we checked it out beforehand and discovered that the path that had been pointed out was strewn with roofing nails. The grass was full of giant nails.
We found out that there had been three layers of shingles for the crew to remove before they could do the new roof. Because we had only just moved in a few months before, we didn't know anything about the previous roofing jobs. So we were not able to give a heads up on this fact to

. It seemed that the crew was very upset about this setback though. They tore the gutter from the side of our house - leaving holes in the side where it was pulled from. They broke a halloween decoration that was no where near where the work was being done and left such a complete mess behind when they left that we had wait until morning to even go into our yard to see where it was actually clear to walk. We were even treated to hearing one of the workers say that he was not going to fix "the F... gutter".
We had plans for the following day but after a multiple irate phone calls to
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, we were told that a worker would be out right away to clean up our yard. He showed up at noon. One guy. It took him all afternoon to clean up the mess. We still find roofing nails and shingle bits in the garden beds and grass none months later. Full disclosure:

did take $200 off of our total cost.
Now in June, we are having leaks in our porch roof. One guy came out to inspect this two weeks ago. He said he did see some "spacing issues" in the roof so another guy would be out the next day to take a look and fix it. It's been two weeks since that and we haven't heard anything. We have, however gotten lots more rain. Finally last night we called to see what had been done. It was Sunday so we left an explicit message requesting the detail of the fix work. Low and behold, I received a voicemail this morning from the guy who was supposed to be out two weeks ago to look at the "spacing issues", asking me to call and tell him what's going on with my roof so he can come out and take a look. Seriously?
I'm sure there a people who have had good experiences with this company but ours has been terrible and they can't seem to get it right. Hopefully we are the exception.

These guys were a delight to deal with from beginning (we found them at last year's state fair) to end (they just came by to repair some windows that didn't open properly because of expanding insulation).
In order to protect our gardens, we signed up for their winter special at a 10% discount, but because of an unusually severe winter, work did not begin until March. They came out to the house, removed the exisiting masonite siding, covered the house in housewrap, rebuilt the soffits and repaired rotting wood and then installed new HardiPlank siding and trim. The workers were prompt, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable and skillful. When we had questions, we called or emailed the project supervisor and got an immediate response. The house now looks immeasurably better and we have only good memories of the whole project.

rMy wife and I had been searching/wishing for a replacement entry door for a couple years but estimates for the door we wanted (Provia) were well beyond what we even expected would be the high end. Other contractors would not even complete the quote in most cases as we needed a solution to replace siding around the door. Other contractors wanted us to find someone else to do the siding once the door was installed, and they wanted someone else to come in and replace wallboard where the new door went in. In spring of 2013 we decided to try once again for an all inclusive contractor with reasonable pricing and we found

. The estimate was well below what we expected AND he included solutions/fixes for the outside and inside where the new door went. Provia is probably one of the most expensive and high-quality doors you can find but with what we have seen with neighbors replacements and problems of other doors we decided not to risk a lower quality. Because these doors are so high quality -
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
went beyond my expectations and set up a second/third meeting with his team of installers, his distribution company (Norandex) and a rep from Provia. They answered all our questions and spent quite some time measuring the entry area - it had to be perfect as Provia custom manufactures each door/sidelight/transom to your measurements.
The door came and

's team went right to work. EVERYTHING he promised and even some things he didn't (replaced the kick board as they found the existing was rotten at no extra cost) were done impeccably. We have had so many compliments and inquiries about the door and other outside work. Another contractor doing some concrete work even mentioned how great of a job these guys did and asked for
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
's information.
We were so impressed that "for giggles" I asked how much it would cost to replace the siding on our entire house (we has some very minor hail damage and some discoloration so it had been a "dream" project for quite some time for us). His price was well within the range of what we expected. I signed up that night for the siding as well. He was reluctant and said - I would suggest you get other estimates - this is a big investment. But after seeing the quality and dedication put into my door I didn't care if I was spending more (which I absolutely do not think anyone else would have come close). This was also no ordinary siding job. My wife selected several colors and styles to go around the entire house.
As expected with
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
, everything came as expected, the siding looks wonderful (again several compliments and questions on who did this work) and again they went above and beyond. Many boards behind the old siding were rotted and needed replacing, they replaced what needed replacing and I never heard about it again (did not ask for more money in the end) They even added a gutter at no charge in the area where most of the rotting was occurring!
From day 1 with
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
we knew what to expect as they provided constant updates on all the big and tiny projects they were doing around the house. If anyone ever asked me for a "tip" on a siding/door contractor I would not hesitate to recommend

came to my house on October 5 to discuss the project and give me some options. I could have had a ready-made door/window unit installed, but if I had done that, I probably would have had to have had the exterior of the house painted. Instead I had a door/window unit custom designed that could fit in exactly the same space as the old one. This work was done and installed within 30 days. The quality of the work was excellent.
The price was excellent, too.

My only complaint regarded the billing process. I paid one-half up front, and the other half when the work was completed. That was fine. My complaint is that the person who does the billing emailed the bill to me, and I didn't get it. I received a call from the office, asking me why I hadn't paid the bill, and I told the person because I hadn't received it.
Other than that one little snag,
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend it to anyone interested in a similar service.

When I noted that I was on the do-not-call list, provider said that they were not calling to sell me anything but to "offer a free demonstration." This is complete and utter BS; it's a legal loophole but they are ABSOLUTELY calling with the goal of selling me something and I think their refusal to abide by the do-not-call list is blatantly unethical. I would never do business with such a company and I don't think anyone else should, either. Telemarketing is obnoxious and intrusive, and even more so when I have done everything I can to indicate that I DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE THESE CALLS.
The salesman offered to transfer me to his manager; I accepted. He then hung up on me.

We want to thank everyone at
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
(TCSP) for their hard work on our home. We went through a pretty wicked home addition project a few years back, which ultimately resulted in the need for this siding project. After having been through that process, we were a little "gun-shy", and we frankly never expected the level of professionalism we received from everyone at TCSP. We were absolutely amazed with the quality of the workmanship, the level of communication at every stage of the project, the high level of organization that permeated the entire project, and the courtesy and foresight of the crew. At every level, we felt well informed and well taken care of by the Office, Production, and Field personnel. We are very happy to recommend
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
to ANYONE who is considering a siding project. The first-rate work/product, professionalism, and high level of communication that
Saint Paul Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
brings to its projects truly sets them apart from others in the industry. Words can't adequately express how pleased we are!

explained the problem, giving a couple of options. He took care of the problem in a quick and efficient manner and made us feel good about our choice, even though it was a small fix. He was personable with us and friendly with our dogs. We are looking forward to the time when we have the budget for more extensive improvements so we can hire

The owner and his son were amazing. They were willing to work with a limited budget (some people get huffy when you're honest about what you can spend, but they completely understood) and we worked out an affordable plan of action that I feel great about now that it has been taken care of. They are SO much more affordable than going through a contractor and I would recommend them for any siding project out there. I will definitely be calling them back in the future when I have to put new siding on the garage. They completed the project while I was at work and when I looked at everything after a long day of work I was shocked at how clean the edges were and how detail-oriented everything was. These are trustworthy, good people that care about the quality of their work and will take care of your home.
Thank you!!!
