did an excellent job. He arrived a little earlier than scheduled and was setting up when I arrived at the house. He explained the process he would follow and then proceeded with the inspection. He explained what he was looking for on every point of inspection and when he found something that needed to be noted, he explained what was wrong and how it should be corrected. He also pointed out positive aspects of the home. He provided a report showing things that need attention and things that are not acceptable. He also provided pictures of all items noted. His attention to detail and professionalism are exceptional. The inspection report and photos are very useful in supporting a request for and adjustment to the purchase agreeement.

was great. His attention to detail and willingness to let us be part of the inspection were especially note worthy. Both my husband and I felt we received an education in home maintenance by spending a few hours with
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
. He provided us with one more hour than many of the other providers we contacted and his report was more thorough than any I have ever seen regarding a home inspection for sale.

"We chose this inspector because of the high number of "A" ratings on Angie's List, but we and our realtor were disappointed. The inspector was more interested in kissing up to the realtor to get future business than in giving our condo a thorough, honest inspection. Because of that, it was difficult to have any confidence in him. The realtor saw right through him and has no plans to use him. In addition, the inspector was forgetful and negligent about details. I hesitate to say this, but in the interest of being honest to other Angie's subscribers, I would say he is retirement age and unfortunately that is reflected in the quality of the service he provides. He's a very pleasant man on a personal level, but I just could not recommend him. My realtor usually uses Suburban Home Inspection. If I were to make the choice again, that's who I would choose. I have a lot of respect for my realtor."

"It appears that judging my experience and people who reviewed for the service on 5/31/12 that this inspection service has quite the unsavory reputation. In an effort to fully disclose, in my situation I am the seller, and our buyers had requested to to an inspection, obviously we agreed, knowing that our home is in great condition and also knowing the results of our own home inspection when we purchased nearly two years ago, in fact we have had professionals make improvements, our issues do not arise from the results of the inspection. It is with the lack of professionalism, boundaries, and absolute disregard for personal privacy that I write this review. The issues are as follows:
* In one of my guest bedrooms the mattress was knocked off its frame and was literally on the floor.* My file cabinet in that room was open (and files out of order, someone had obviously been in it) * My nightstand had been gone through. * Shower curtains moved-and in complete disarray and my one white shower curtain has dirt stains on it from a hand. (It is from Anthropologie- its expensive!!) * Every blind and curtain out of order, towels knocked off towel bars and on the floor. * The main floor half bath not only had the lid and seat up on the toilet.. there was URINE on the toilet and the floor complete with a nice body hair from the nether regions.
I like things in their place in my home, and I am absolutely appalled and disgusted with what happened during this inspection.
As a seller how can you know that personal things aren't going to be taken or damaged? As a buyer how do you have any leg to stand on if you want to negotiate for repairs or negotiate for price reduction? How can you trust the work done when they can't een manage to pee in the toilet correctly! The answer: You can't! Do not hire under any circumstances!!

"We chose
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
based on his touted credentials, his website and the fact that he's been on HGTV. MISTAKE. BIG MISTAKE. There are so many things we have found since acquiring the home that were NOT noted on the inspection report. Such as, when we lifted up one of the windows the bottom of it was so rotted from water damage that it actually fell off! When asked during the inspection what these brown stains were on the ceiling and wall he stated he thought it was "glue seeping through". What?! Yes, we have water damage. Plus, he stated in the report that he took pictures and no pictures were ever presented to us. There was snow on the ground and we could clearly see that he hadn't even walked around the property. We trusted him and paid him to be an advocate on our behalf and he failed to do so! I'm sure the ladder never came off his truck.

WE WOULD NEVER...EVER...RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!!

RESPONSE: Did you really just say that you noticed this property was a foreclosure??? IT WAS NOT A FORECLOSURE, I REPEAT, NOT A FORECLOSURE! In fact, it wasn't even a short sale! How could it be...the sellers had no loan on it and the taxes/assessments were paid up and current.
We read the report (word used lightly), thank you. The stains I was referring to above were NOT in the attic, they are in a first floor room. Remember when I asked you about them and you stated that you thought it was "glue seeping through"??? Also, what about not walking around the property and what about our pictures you supposedly took??? We would like those, please.

AGAIN, WE WOULD NEVER....EVER....RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!!! Please learn from our mistake.

"We really enjoyed working with
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
. He came out to the house a little earlier than we did and then we walked around with him for a few hours and he pointed out numerous things including recommendations/upkeep. He was incredibly thorough and helpful and answered all of our questions. It was really easy to send our electronic report directly to the builder. I appreciate that
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
also told us we can call him with questions in the future. He seemed to treat our inspection just like he would as if he were doing it for a family member. Also, my travel schedule was impossible so he came out on a saturday morning which we really appreciated. very solid experience.

"I noted some cracking in the basement foundation wall, and didn't know how best to approach the problem, who to trust. After a couple of months of observing - it wasn't getting better. I checked the website of the home inspectors who helped me buy the house, and found they could consult on problems like this.
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
came punctually. He's good. Started with looking around outside, made recommendations about drainage and grading of the yard, even noted an electrical wire problem that should be reported to the power company. Inside, he evaluated carefully, measured, took pictures, and made some recommendations about what it would take to restore the wall and help the basement structurally. He sent a detailed illustrated report by email, and included - at my request - contractors whose work he knew for this type of job. (He was careful to say that these weren't the only people who do this work, just some whose work he had seen.) I ended up using one of them (also reviewed Angie's List). It isn't cheap to get this type of consultation, but I knew that I would be more likely to get the right thing done by a competent person - the first time. Peace of mind is worth something. Overall, now that the work is done, I got my money's worth. I would recommend
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
and Brown for home inspection and advice before projects that seem - or are - major.

was able to inspect the home the day after I contacted him. He explained things clearly, thoroughly inspected the home and has been available for follow-up questions. I appreciate his attention to detail, the time he put into the inspection/explaining findings (over four hours) and his thoughtful and caring approach. I highly recommend him for anyone who is planning on purchasing a home."

"I have used
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
once before for a home inspection on a home I did not buy because of poor construction. He was a little bit late but it was due to traffic caused by some accidents. He was incredibly thorough and did an excellent job. I would recommend
Saint Paul Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
to anyone needing either a home or condo inspection."
