"I had # Doors replace two low overhead doors on my somewhat old garage as part of a restoration effort that included shoring and straightening up the whole structure which was sagging with age. This older design garage presented a challenge for the garage doors as there was very little space above the door opening for the rails, ...more etc. In addition, I had wanted to have openers on the doors, but had not been able to fit them into the limited space. #

doors was suggested by the carpenter doing the structural work. I looked them up on Angie's list, and found them to be newly listed, with no reviews to date. Since I was very pleased with the carpenter's work, I decided to get an estimate.

Doors was able to come over shortly after I contacted him, and quickly assessed the particular challenges my garage presented. He walked me through how he would solve the limited space issues, answer all my questions in great detail. When I mentioned that I'd always wanted openers but did not see how to fit them in, he quickly came up with a solution and again described how he would make it all play together in terms and details that I could understand. We agreed to a package deal (doors, openers and multiple remotes, plus disposal of the old doors) and scheduled a day for the installation.

arrived as scheduled for the install, and got right to work. He knew that one of the cars I kept in the garage was a collector's car, so when the local weather radar showed heavy rains due in a couple of hours,

worked to make it possible to fit that car back into the garage before the downpour. He made it, with a couple of minutes to spare! The rest of the install went smoothly, and the results were very pleasing to me. With the installation complete,

walked me through the use and programming of the various remotes, including the HomeLink transmitter built into the other car to be kept in the garage. He then asked if I would like the vinyl surround painted to match the rest of the garage trim. I had paint remaining from the garage repaint, which

took so he could paint the trim at his shop. We scheduled a revisit in a few days for

to return with the painted trim. He reappeared as planned, and the final painted trim pieces set the new doors off perfectly. A couple of times during the project

came at 1, and had the door back on its hinges and the new garage door opener and all required safety features (which the old door didn't have) installed by 2:30. Charged me $10 more than the over-the-phone quote because when he saw how heavy the door was he recommended a larger moter (3/4 hp instead of 1/2 hp). Did not charge me for some of the other needed fixes that he didn't find out about until he came & inspected the door -- i.e.g, realigning the door, fixing a hinge and reinstalling a roller.
