Saint Paul Furniture Repair Shops Reviews

"After we moved into our new house, all our furniture looked ratty. So I picked out

Specialists on the basis of these reviews and gave them a call.

came out a couple of days later and gave us a written estimate on all the work we wanted done. He was very nice and knowledgeable. I showed

a chair that had the color and fabric type I wanted him to match for the dining room chairs. He picked out several he thought would work nicely and let me keep swatches at home for a few days so we could think it over. I also considered getting fabric from somewhere else -

said that would be fine by him - but we ended up taking one of their fabrics anyway. They have a very large selection. The work was done on time. The upholstery and the re-gluing were excellent. That's what they do in their own shop. The refinishing - which I believe he farms out - was very good too, though it took a while to get it right on one of the pieces (specifically, the drawers no longer matched after they refinished the side board and had to be redone). I would certainly use them again. The price was right, especially with the 10% discount for Angie's List members, and the service was superb.
"I believe we got the name from Angie's List, but after my husband talked to him, it looked like he was knowledgeable and enough to handle on antique. They did a pretty good job and excellent match. My overall experience with them was good. In terms of price, we did not do a lot of comparisons on price, but I would say it was good."
"I don't write reviews very often, but it is so rare to find a company that provides such excellent service I wanted to make sure they get credit for it. I had a sofa (from Retrospect/Room & Board) with broken springs and didn't know if I should get a new one or fix it - and quite frankly I didn't even know that there were places that still offer these services. They arrived at my house (free of charge) and took a look at it, knew exactly how this brand of couch is constructed and explained his recommendations, provided an estimate, and offered to pick it up and drop it off for a nominal charge. They worked around my schedule and were right on time (before 7:30am every time) and even had my sofa completed a day ahead of schedule. This was an expensive couch, and now it is as good as new for less than $300 for completely rewebbing, pickup and delivery. Totally worth it. Now that I know they do upholstery and other services I have a long list of items I'm looking forward to reviving instead of buying new. Thank you!"

worked wonders, bringing the leather chair back to better condition than he had promised -- 95% like new, which is incredible given how faded the leather chair was. He was very patient and helpful in assisting us in choosing the right fabrics for the couch and other chair. They look and sit better than when new! The only minor issue is that he tends to take longer to complete the projects than he estimates, but the quality and fair price are worth the wait."
"the completion date they gave me was quite a ways into the future, but when the date arrived, my chairs were ready. They seem to have lots of pieces lined up for work, so if you need something within a week or two, this may not be the place to take it. But if you can leave your work there for a month or six weeks, then this place is fine."
"From the moment he entered our home to provide an estimate to the day he returned with our refinished table,

was professional and knowledgeable. He described exactly what would be done with our table; he listened to our concerns and answered all of our questions. In addition, the quote

picked up our table on a Monday afternoon. THREE DAYS LATER we were shocked to have received a call back from him saying the work was done and asking when he could bring our table home to us. My husband and I couldn't believe our ears! Upon inspection, we found a stunning teak dining table that literally glows and shines. We are amazed at the quality and speed of the work. Thanksgiving dinner will happen after all! Last, each time

"They did a good job. The one thing that bothered me was that they took a longer time than they said to complete the work. It was not urgent, though, so it wasn't a big issue. I plan to use them again and think they do good work."
"When I dropped of the table, I was promised an estimate within 3-4 days. No one called. I called the following Monday and asked for the estimate. They had not even looked at the table but I pressed for a 'ballpark' and was told $80, plus $10 to oil and

the finish. I authorized the repair and was told it would be about a week. I did not get a call after more than a week so I called again on a Monday. I was told it would be ready that Friday. I planned to be in the area on the following Tuesday so I said I would pick it up then. A snowstorm preventing me going out on Tuesday, which was fortunate because they called on Thursday (2 days later) and said the table was ready. The table was repaired nicely and they were friendly when I picked it up. I wish the communication and time line had been a little more straightforward. "

quickly responded to my e-mail inquiry and came the next Saturday. She was extremely professional and conscientious about her work. I will contact her again if the need arises. She's great!"
"Offered a 10% discount for Angie's List members. Waived pick up and delivery fees. While the surface appearance was good, details were lacking. Finish did not cover undersole of legs, portion of back of rocker, sections showed accumulation of finish left to dry."
