came to our home and was very patient in answering questions I had ranging from installing an egress window in our basement to a new front door. I have some other ideas for work I'd like done on our house, and asked him to give me ballpark estimates for those. He patiently obliged my requests. We are most interested in a new front door as our current door is extremely inefficient. His verbal estimate seemed reasonable within our budget, but the actual written estimate we received a couple days later was quite a bit more than the verbal. We decided it was not within our budget to go with

for this project.

were excellent to work with.

and Nick were extremely honest and upfront with all communication about project timeline and methods.  They managed the work of and facilitated all communication with the electrical sub-contractor, and handled all communication with the city of Shoreview for permits and inspections.  All inspections passed with flying colors.   The work started with an in-home visit with

to go over what we wanted.

made a suggestion on the plan (instead of remodeling part of the front-hall closet to become a pantry for the kitchen, we had additional cabinets installed instead) which we ended up implementing.

up a sketch of the new kitchen layout and reviewed it with us on a second visit, and then we discussed details (countertop material, placement of outlets and lighting fixtures, etc.)..   The work started on schedule in late January, all permits secured and posted.  On each day they worked, they took the time to curtain off the area being worked on and to clean up at the end of the day, so that each day we were left with a clean, usable kitchen and dining area--they really took pains to minimize the impact on our daily routine.  The framing, drywall, painting, flooring and a majority of the electrical were complete and passed inspection within two weeks.  There was a

in activity at home while they worked on fabricating the cabinets and built-in desk.  The final installation of the cabinets, new countertop, trim, the remaining electrical and fixtures took another week, and final inspections were passed soon after that. The quality of the work is excellent.  The kitchen looks as if it had always been the way it is now--having custom-made cabinets to match the style and stain of the existing cabinets saved the headache of trying to match them from a catalog or having to replace them all.  Even with a difference in age of 40+ years, the new cabinets are almost the same shade of stain as the old.   The best thing about working with
Saint Paul Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and Nick was their professionalism and courteous manner.  You could tell they cared very much about satisfying their customer, not just with the quality of the work, but with the experience of having the work done in a way that made the customer as comfortable and confident as possible throughout the whole process.  We highly recommend

for a home remodeling project!

"Craftsman has done an excellent job. Everyone who worked on our home improvement projects was prompt, courteous, honest and professional. Each tradesman took the time to explain the work being preformed and answered any questions we had. The work itself is professionally executed and I feel confident that Craftsman will stand behind their work. Craftsman was very responsive via e-mail and continuously checked-in to make sure we were happy with the progress. I will recommend Craftsman to others moving forward."

"We are finding that in this kind of weather, the windows are well insulated and they have kept the heat out in the summer and the cold out in the winter. They are also wonderful to clean.

is wonderful and we checked them out before we used them since another neighbor had used them previously."

"We are very pleased with the results of the project. The bathroom looks wonderful.
Saint Paul Door Installers Provider Name Locked
is very interested in doing an excellent job, takes pride in his work, and goes the extra mile. For example, he had to repair the plaster on a hallway wall that was knocked out to provide access to pipes for the plumbing update. He not only repaired the hole but repaired nearby cracks so the wall was in great shape when he was finished. He did a great job with the plaster repair and in creating the new woodwork, which includes a wide baseboard, door and window trim with crown molding on top. He also installed a chair rail supplied by us.

"Responding time good. They prefer you use email. Looked at how best to do the project and how to make it safe and easy for my mail man. I did go for the extra part to give the project a more finished look. He was exacting and meticulous. Used a tarp. Left little mess for me to clean up. Was friendly. I felt safe leaving him in the house while I ran to Home Depot. Looking forward to having him here again. Price was avg. Had coupon from Angie's List."

"Overall this was a terrible experience for my wife and I. We received and agreed to their estimate on 5/21/09. The job was finally "completed" on 12/21/09. I put completed in quotes because they never installed the storm door correctly. It needs to be redone because it won't close properly and there are several missing screws. Now they won't touch it. Since day one, their mistakes have included: misquoting the estimate (so they say), measuring the entry door wrong multiple times, failure to honor written agreements, failure to order proper hardware, improperly installing equipment, months of delays. The president,
Saint Paul Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, even verbally abused me for several minutes recently when I met him to resolve the problems
Saint Paul Door Installers Provider Name Locked
caused. This abuse included yelling, profanity, and even attacking my personal life. He even blamed me for all of their mistakes. Based on these intimidation tactics, I agreed to his terms. I am still kicking myself for that. Avoid

to save yourself the frustration. There are more professional, effective, and efficient places out there. Good luck all!!

and
Saint Paul Door Installers Provider Name Locked
were very professional and their attention to detail was amazing. They really took the time with us upfront in the planning phase to do multiple drawings and alterations to the original plan to make sure that we were getting exactly what we wanted. Once we decided on a final direction they got to work immediately with obtaining permits and ordering windows for our project and other than a few weather delays completed the project on time. When the work began they made great progress and took the time to bring up ideas to make the project better. Our house was built in 1906 and the craftmanship that

and
Saint Paul Door Installers Provider Name Locked
possess to make the interior trim match the existing trim was more than we could have hoped for. They did a great job matching the exterior shakes and paint work to make the addition look like it had always been here. In the end, we are absolutely thrilled with our new living space and how much nicer it is than we envisioned it turning out.
