"The estimator came, and shortly after we agreed upon a price for the work,

came out. It was fortunate for me that this winter has been so mild, as it permitted the foundation to be poured and the steps to be built. The work was finished over a few days, and then completed after they passed the city's inspection. Everything went smoothly. I paint or stain the steps come warmer weather. "

"The bid was competitive, he gave us a start date and did start on time and continued throughout to complete the job as per an estimated finish date. They put down and removed tarps everyday, vacuumed and cleaned up thoroughly daily.

"
Saint Paul General Contractors Provider Name Locked
came to my house and wrote up an estimate for several things I needed done. He emailed the proposal on 11/9/10. On November 10th I emailed him with questions, but he never responded. After almost two weeks I called the office to order service. The person who answered the phone set up a date with me for the morning of November 29th. When no one showed up on the 29th, I called her and she said that she had it down for the following Monday. Now usually, when there’s a mix up of dates it is customary in my experience for both parties to apologize… after all, these things happen. In the case of a mix up between a businessperson and a client, however, I would expect even a greater

on the part of the businessperson to apologize. In this case it was the opposite. She let me know in no uncertain terms that the mistake was entirely my fault, which I

’t believe it was. She then advised me that someone had already come to clean my gutters and fix my garage service door. Unfortunately the service door wasn’t fixed correctly. It stopped working again shortly thereafter, requiring a return visit. (It is now working properly.)

After a final service appointment (installing a storm door) was performed, I received a bill for all of the services. I was distressed to see that it was incorrect. It included a charge of $110 for a service (planing two windows) that was never performed since it was deemed unnecessary by the

. (I greatly appreciate his honesty and expertise in letting me know that the windows were in fact operational—just stuck—and that planing would result in adverse affects (cold air leaks).) I was certainly willing to pay for the time (a few minutes) it took him to get the windows unstuck, but I

’t feel that I should be charged for work that wasn’t done.

On December 20th I called the office and asked for a revised bill. The office person argued with me again, and then agreed to deal with it the following week. Finally three weeks later, having not received a revised bill, I wrote again detailing the above concerns. They sent a new bill but never called or wrote to address my concerns.

My overall sense is that they have much bigger fish to fry and don't care about smaller jobs.

"He was recommended by a friend and did a great job. He was very responsive and really great to work with. The price was quite reasonable for all the work they did."
A
"I called one day, the next day they came out to estimate the work. I received the estimate through email, decided to do part of what they had estimated and wait until another time to do the rest. We scheduled a time - about a week away, and the work was done efficiently and it's perfect! "
