Custom Cabinet Making reviews in Saint Paul

I thought he was good at first. I took him 3 X As long to put it in than Lumber Liquidator contractor stated. I do not

he install many laminate flooring before. When he was finished (and of course he wanted upfront large partial payment and balance by end of job) I discovered he covered up a heat vent with the laminate flooring and he missed putting in the threshold piece at the bathroom entrance. He had to return and find where the vent was and cut a hole in the laminate. It took me a long time to find the vent cover for some reason. He did put in the piece at the bathroom entrance.
In Oct.2013 I had furniture brought in and they scratched my laminate flooring. The furniture store called in their repair person who in turn wanted the original installer to look at it and felt he would be the best person to do the job. She told me she tried to get a hold of Dick several times but she never got a hold of him so she had another person came in and did a great job.
In May I e-mailed Dick about some problems with the floor. I e-mailed him "The
laminate flooring you put in is warping and a board going into the office is loose. There is also a board is going into the bedroom
that must have slipped - there is about 1/4" between two boards. Please advise." He responded in June, " I will plan to stop out and take a look at this for you next week." He never called me nor did I see him. I tried to reach Dick again to let him know that where the board was wrapped it is now loose and there are two nails poking through, but no response. There are more boards that seem to be loosening and some are squeaking now.
Dick is a nice person and may be good at being a "

I am sorry to write this review but the service I received was inadequate.

The installation of the project went great and looks amazing. I had an issue with the supplier of the cabinets and
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was very accommodating to keep the project moving forward. The price was very reasonable and the work was high quality!

Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is an excellent craftsman and is very detail oriented. He shows up when he is supposed to and meets his deadlines. Whenever there was a delay with the project, he always explained the issue up front and provided a revised timeline. The carpentry he provided for our dining room perfectly matches the existing plate rail. The base board and bench pieces are beautiful; the stain doesn't match quite as well as the dining room pieces.
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
did clearly explain up front that this may be the result given the differences between old and new wood. I rated his pricing with a B because
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is very clear about what is out of scope with the original bid. If he provides any additional work or the job changes slightly, he will charge an extra fee. This is understandable, but old houses are hard to predict and sometimes small adjustments are needed to get the job done. He was less flexible regarding these adjustments than I would've liked. Overall, I would highly recommend
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
to anyone with an old house needing carpentry work done.

Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is an artist as well as a craftsman. He is very professional, organized and very serious about his work. He made two visits to the house,
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
up plans that we discussed, and made some great suggestions along the way. He was moving his shop in November, so I didn't expect to have the job done until December, but he gave me a tentative date in November and

and behold, had it installed the day before Thanksgiving!
He has a wonderful assistant whom he mentors and who kept the install process running smoothly, and the clean-up as well.
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
left me 5 extra shelves, an extra lighting fixture, and completed the order as quoted.
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is also a very down to earth and kind gentleman, which makes working with him a very comfortable experience.
I love the finished product!

In the summer of 2012 we fully gutted both the kitchen and bathroom in our 1939 year old home. We found ourselves in the
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
not only for custom kitchen cabinets, but also a vanity and wall cabinet for our bathroom to fit our home and maximize space. We looked to Angie’s List as we knew we were going to be in need of many contractors during this remodel.
We sought out a number of cabinet estimates to make sure we were comfortable not only with the design and layout of the cabinets, but also the quality of the company, materials and people who would be coming into our home.
We were very happy working with
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
on the design. He was helpful in making changes to the layouts and offered up suggestions as we were unfamiliar with the whole process. For example, we had a large plumbing stack that ran from the bathroom above the kitchen down the wall to the basement and
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was able to take that into account and cover it up nicely.
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
provided a detailed estimate that ultimately met our needs along with an appropriate timeline for production and installation. Installation was a

process and the guys that came to install were very professional and made sure everything was done to our standards. Even going out of their way to install on
numerous days as we had a flooring issue that needed correction.
A year has gone by and we have been extremely happy with our cabinets overall. Having custom cabinets is definitely worth
the extra time and money spent as it was imperative to utilize the most space in our home. When it came time to remodel another bathroom in our home, I knew I wanted to have Imperial provide a design and estimate and we’ve decided to move forward with them again.

K2 was very helpful with design ideas. They sketched a design and had several useful ideas for the tile work to make the main bath interesting. They provided an estimate the same day as the initial consultation. Their bid was comparable to two other bids we received. Their recommendations were consistent with the style and time period of our home....More /> It took a while for the work to begin due to backlogs with some of their subcontractors (cabinets) and materials on backorder. They were always quick to respond when we made inquiries on scheduling progress. Once work began progress was fairly quick. Demolition happened fast. The rest of the project wasn't fast, but it wasn't excessively slow either. Overall, it took about as long as they initially predicted (7 weeks).
The quality of the work is excellent. The tile work is superb. The cabinets and countertops look beautiful. The wainscoting is really distinctive and well-constructed and fit.
They ran into several snags with old wiring and were upfront about the problems and costs to remediate. We feel much better knowing that all the wiring is now up to code. A few times we had some issues with the quality of some of the subcontractors and K2 was very responsive to the feedback.
As the project was proceeding they floated ideas for how to save money to offset some of the overruns on wiring, which we appreciated. We changed our mind a few times on a couple of the design elements and they were patient and accommodating.
If we ever add a bathroom to our house in the future we will definitely use them again.

Overall we were pretty happy with our new custom closets from
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
Cabinets. The Good. The company was very responsive and we have a nice looking finished product. I worked with
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, who was really good- responsive, professional, and helpful. She worked with a design idea I came up with and tried to accommodate my, and my wife's, ideas. She tried to help reduce costs where she could and give us the various trade offs. The Cons. A custom closet is expensive and SCVC is not necessarily any different. I have worked with a general contractor in the past that I feel did a pretty good job for less money, but he was not able to do this job so we went with SCVC. I know we ended up with a superior product than what we would have gotten from a Home Depot or Lowes product, but it was a pretty big differential from those prices so tough to know if the trade off is worth it for everyone. Ultimately, I think it was for us and if you want anything truly custom (we had them do a built in shelf unit that turned out VERY nice) I would say SCVC would be a good option. Beyond pricing concerns, part of the issues we had with the final product were around design concerns. So, admittedly, I am partly to blame since these were my original ideas. These were mostly areas where I wish I could have done things differently but it was too late after the install. In some instances I wish SCVC would have seen the issue arise since they do these closets pretty frequently, but neither of us caught it in the drawings (or maybe they didn't think it would be an issue.) Examples of these are tough to explain without pictures, but relate to not optimizing space and adding what I saw as superfoulous pieces of wood that take away from the total usable space. Again, not major drawbacks, but areas I certainly wish I could have done differently. In the end we have really nice closet and my guess is my wife and I are the only ones that will notice the drawbacks in the finished product (unless we were to point it out).

Excellent. I should've had the professional painters come AFTER the construction, but that is not the way my life happens.I have stunning hand made and exquisitely installed wainscotting. My house looks better than it ever was.His designs are so functional. We are really happy with his work ethic, his ability to listen and come up with workable design solutions that make so much sense, and his attempts to keep stuff clean.(OK truth be told, his work area is cleaner than the rest of our house).
We also really appreciate his contracts. We have been severely burned by contractors before.
Saint Paul Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
writes everything out in detail.2 copies that we make changes on together so that everybody knows exactly whats included.Very reassuring. And then he goes and adds little extras-I think he just can't help himself(extra heavy-duty hinges, small area repairs). Overall a generous and hard working, talented design-installation-carpenter
- Rynn & Beth B.

Woodie did the best job a man could do. His work was better than the image I had in my mind of what the finished project would look like. You can't do better than that.
