"I was pretty unimpressed with the guy. He basically made some comments about how the installers would be white guys like me and I decided not to give him any business; I don't think he knew that I am married to a woman of mixed race. I thought the presentation was kind of cheesy with a heat lamp and an infrared thermometer that didn?t seem very accurate. ...more I do not recommend him based off of the estimate. "

"I made the mistake of responding to a flyer and coupon that I received. I will never do it again. The salesman was so rehearsed on his horribly scripted sales pitch. Nearly 30 minutes in, I had to explain to him that my time was more valuable than to listen to his cheesy pitch; I needed windows, I needed pricing and scheduling ...more information. He was insistent on showing me binders with what appeared to be old photos of work they had done, how they had helped out an old woman on a fixed income who had a run-in with a bad contractor. Little did I know, this was just the beginning. The initial estimate: $17,000! But wait, "let me see if I can sharpen my pencil and get this down a bit" he says. After three price reductions, he dropped $10,000 off the price of the same windows. The man seemed surprised when I explained to him that he wasn't giving me a deal or doing me a favor, he had started off by trying to take advantage of me. I had to ask the man to leave. Oh, and be warned that they make follow-up phone calls. It took three calls before I finally got these people to stop calling me. The whole sales pitch reminded me of a

on SNL. Needless to say, I found another company that did a fantastic job and gave me a very reasonable price upfront without 'sharpening their pencils' 3 times."

came out to measure for the doors on two separate occasions to make sure his measurements were correct. As they say on This Old House, "Measure twice, cut once". The doors were done on a different day and apparently were more work than they had estimated for two people. They arrived at 9 am and didn't leave until the job was complete, which ended up being about 10:30 pm. Both doors were a tricky fit on a 1920s bungalow but they did a great job and really made sure they were correct. As they settle in we are finding that we need to call them back out to adjust one of the locks (I just haven't yet). The windows were completed within four (4) hours and completely live up to our expectations so far. Since we sleep upstairs the priority was to prevent heat/cold loss and decrease noise. In fact, two months after the windows were installed we had one of our trees split in half and come down between our house and our neighbor's. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the damage was minimal - no broken windows! I was upstairs on the same side of the house of the tree when it fell and I literally didn't hear a peep. Now, that's quiet."
