"They were given 12 weeks for the rehab project (2 more than requested by them) but did not finish by required contract date, (Didn't even come close). We had to fire them due to the owner
screaming and threatening me on the ...more job site. The neighbors complained several times about
yelling at the employees on the site. They had specific benchmarks to hit each week and fell behind the first week. Employees quit showing up each day and we had different employees on the site every week. Most of the time the employees didn't know what they were required to do and the general didn't inform them. Lastly, subs and employees were not paid and after firing
the subs and employees started calling us wanting money. "

". It took a while. Lots of choosing and waiting for items to come in. Some to us and some to
. Once started they worked very hard. I especially want to mention employee
who is a master of all trades. ...more Things went fairly smoothly, but no matter if something came up
, sometimes with
's advice, would make it work. The craftsmanship is very good. We love our new bathroom. Also, they were very responsive to any questions we had. Angie would always call back. They were always there, on time. "

and his team are grate, they have helped us on several kitchens. He delivers on what he says he will do, his product seems to be at more than a fair price. He goes the extra mile to show up in person when others would send a fax or an email. We even had a warranty repair that he took care of with a smile.
to install new kitchen appliances in existing steel cabinets. The work was done very well, and when we wanted an additional cabinet added in our kitchen eating area we had him install that. This was also done well.
We decided to have the kitchen remodeled, and contacted Mr.
...more for an estimate. He was very professional, as always, and was extremely helpful with helping us develop our ideas. The cabinets and counter tops were delivered and installed according to schedule, and the work was first class.
We also had pre-existing plumbing issues, as well as outdated wiring. Everything was corrected, including some things that were discovered after the project started, and all within the original estimate. "
to get an estimate for a bathroom shower remodel. didn't get a human, left a voicemail at 636-282-7950, on 6-9-14, at 2:33 pm. clearly stated my name and phone number to call me back. never got a response as of this date 6-22-14. I chose Rebath to do the work.
Beard was one of the reasons we decided to go with
. We took our time in the planning stages (over 6-months) because we wanted it to look just so .
was very professional and patient with us and never tried to ...more rush us into any decision just to keep things moving along. For example, we were struggling with the bar area remodel so that it would smoothly transition from the new kitchen into the family room. We had several ideas but none of our ideas really were exactly what we wanted.
made a suggestion one day during one of our many discussions about this area that proved to be exactly what we were looking for and actual sealed-the-deal for us.
Two words accurately describe the actual construction phase of the project... very professional. The work began on time and took exactly the scheduled six weeks to complete. Moreover, the trades made substantial efforts to maintain a clean working environment and to clean up the job site at the end of the day.
was our head carpenter and both my wife and I were very pleased with both his work and attitude. In fact, by the end of the construction, we started to feel like
was part of the family. There were several minor changes made during construction and
and his crew were very accommodating in making these changes without any fuss.
Overall we are very happy with the work
"HAVE LEFT THREE VOICE MAILS WITH HIM REQUESTING HE JUST DROP THE ORIGINAL PLANS OFF AND TWO EMAILS
STATING THE SAME WITH INFO RE: MY INABILITY TO DRAW. HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM NOR RECEIVED THE PLANS.
WAITED A LONG TIME TO WRITE THIS REVIEW ~ LIFE HAPPENS BUT THIS IS BEYOND THAT.
and threatening to rain. The installer had to set up his saw on the deck outside the kitchen. I offered him a canopy, but he refused. He put the saw on the deck floor. For the most part, the install went well until he came to the floor vent that we had been told that he would ...more fix so it would vent to the front. Two cabinets crossed over it and he said he didn't know what to do about that, so I let him cover the vent and render it no longer functional. He got the upper cabinets installed without too much trouble, but couldn't figure out how the crown molding was supposed to attach. I called the sales guy at Lowe's and he texted me a copy of the page from the manufacturer's manual on how to install it. When
was finished, there were gaps in some of the crown molding corners, especially inner corners. Since I was planning to install lighting up there and wasn't too happy to have the light shining down through the cracks, we asked the company to do something about that. One of the owners came out to the house with the installer and he (the owner) said he thought the job was fine, acceptable, and anyway, there wasn't enough crown molding left to re-do the work. So he had the installer work on it for a while, and when the left, there was no light to be seen at the gaps. Recently, I finally got around to installing the lights above the cabinets. I couldn't believe their solution. I assumed that they had used some kind of filler on them, since I had seen the installer unroll a package of colored filler sticks. No. Black electrical tape! All this would almost be forgivable except that while they were here discussing the work, the installer actually looked at me and said "Most places I work, they have a garage where I can set up". "
bid the job in the summer of 2013. I was clear with
that I would not be ready to begin the project until sometime in October.
assured me that my timeline would not be a problem. A couple of weeks latter
supplied the most detailed and comprehensive ...more bid out of the four bids that we had received.
's estimate came in right in the middle of the high and low estimates. My father-in-law, who is a contractor in Chicago, reviewed all four estimates and he told us that
's seemed dead on. At that point I contacted
to get the ball rolling.
Our project was delayed until late November due to issues with the City of St.
. We had to get an architect involved to draw up plans for the City. After being sent from the City planning and permit office twice to obtain additional information and details, I gave up!
stepped in and made it happen. He came by to pick up additional copies of the plans and dealt with the City. Once the plans were approved by the City
began the ordering of supplies and scheduling of our project.
and his crew worked on the garage over a period of just under two months. We had a very cold, sporadic and wet winter here in St.
was on site whenever the weather would permit. He was even on site when the temperature was in the low teens. Although the weather was not cooperative, we really felt like
was doing everything in his power to move the project along. He communicated with me on a regular basis his intentions, plans, and schedule.
While working on the garage
braced the three walls that were to remain and took great care throughout the duration of the work to protect the walls. He meticulously removed the roof, trusses, and front wall. He removed the materials, cleaned up, and roped off or boarded up the site each night for safety. Once all of the old and damaged structure was removed
had the new materials delivered and began rebuilding.
built a sub-wall on top of the old walls to bring the building height up to code. He also installed a gusset to tie the old walls to the new sub-walls.
and his crew then installed new prefabricated trusses and rebuilt the front wall to hold a standard 11 x 7 garage door. A large and very heavy header was installed to support the front wall over the garage door. I was impressed with the crew's ability to position the beam that high without the use of a crane. New ply-wood went onto the roof and sides of the garage where applicable.
's team installed a new roof, garage door, side door, window, vinyl siding, soffits, trim, gutters, etc...
even left what remained of the new materials, i.e. wood, siding, and shingles, for any future repair needs we may have. He even placed the additional siding up in the trusses so that it would be stored and out of our way.
Other than the three walls that had to remain we now have an entirely new and structurally sound 20x20 garage.
made the experience for us. He is friendly, attentive, forthcoming, detail oriented, and he communicated consistently throughout the duration of our garage project. We love our new garage so we are very thankful that we found
. We trust
and we will definitely work with him on all our future projects. "
Heating and Cooling to install a new air conditioning unit in the "knee wall" area of our third floor and we needed a door for access to the space. As I did not have a carpenter in mind that i had used recently, I asked
for a recommendation. They contacted Kal at
...more and he set up an appointment for 8AM the next morning. He and another of his employees arrived on time and inspected the location. We agreed on the design (matching other doors on the third floor and agreed that they would be working for me rather than subcontracting for
. Kal left to get the door, finish trim and hardware needed while the other carpenter (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) cut the new opening and roughed it in. It took them about two hours to cut the door to size, hang and adjust it and install the finish trim and hardware. They did all the circular saw cutting outside so no noticeable amount of dust was created inside. The new doorway was a perfect match with the existing doors and the area was left as clean as before they started.
Kal and his employee were very personable and always polite. We are very happy with the work and would certainly hire
