"I would give them A's across the board. They are outstanding. She's happy there and she has adjusted to that. It's a great place. They are really good. It's about $120000 a year. We have good insurance so they pay a significant portion of that. It's very much an upscale facility. The staff is very personable and very caring. The staff is always very available. They actually bent over backwards and moved mom right next to the nurse's station so that they can get to her even quicker as she's legally blind. The office is outstanding and the administration is very caring. Their communication, effectiveness of treatment and billing and administration are excellent. I'm very, very satisfied dealing with them. "

"
began providing in home health care for my elderly parents (mid-90s) when I moved them from their home in another state to St.
. I cannot say enough about the care provided by the nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, and everyone who has visited. My dad is diabetic and developed wounds while in rehab and the
team worked for months to heal them. They stayed as long as needed, never rushed through the care, and listened to my parents' concerns. The nurse has repeatedly told me to call anytime I need her (my dad has a catheter) and I have on occasion done so. The peace of mind provided by this team to both me and my parents is inestimable. The physical therapist gets dad up to exercise and just laughs off any of his complaints. She also has advised various aids to keep his feet as healthy as possible given his diabetes. He has dementia and some days are better than others, but her temperament is always kind. The occupational therapist worked with my parents and me in making the home safer for them to prevent falls, even going as far as drawing diagrams.
also recommended a social worker to help my parents adjust to the life changes they are undergoing. I truly feel as if they are not only medical professionals, but friends.

"i am still using this company. the caregiver we have is great... the scheduling people are very helpful... there is a nurse available for any changes in health and they always send someone who is qualified... i have no worries about leaving my mother with anyone they send...in fact the last week our caregiver could not make it and one of their nurses came to pitch is and stayed the whole time.... they always send a nurse with a new caregiver and the nurse goes over what is needed to be done.... you don't have to do it....don't bother calling any other company."

"Unfortunately, it didn't work out. They couldn't handle my mother at all. They had to get someone else to come. They sent a young pregnant girl who was just used to being a companion, I told them ahead of the time that I needed a skilled nurse. They even had a nurse come in to do an assessment and she determined that my mother needed a skilled nurse. I was mislead. I wouldn't recommend them. "

"The doctor sent them out. I liked one girl who came out, and the bath ladies were good, but there was another man who came out and was very rude. I would never use them again because of him. I hate to give them a low score because the bath ladies and the girl were great, but the man was horrible. He didn t do that much, and when he took her for walks he did not stand close enough to catch her if she fell. I am basing the grade mostly on him, and not on the company itself. Everyone but him was very professional and helpful."

"During the end stages of my father's battle with cancer, he fell three times and was unable to get himself up. We then had Direct Link an "in-home emergency monitoring" service installed in my parents' home. A person wears a necklace or wristband with a button that they can push to activate the system. Once the button is activated, Direct Link comes on and asks the individual if assistance is needed. DL is sensitive enough that where ever in the house the person may be, DL can hear their response. If assistance is required, DL calls either a pre-designated contact or the Police, Fire Department, or EMTs if needed. If the button is activated and no verbal response is made by the customer, DL calls the Police. After my father's passing, we kept the service for my mother. We have had the service now for a year and pay for it monthly. We have had 4 "emergencies" and DL was key in getting my Mom help quickly. It provides great peace of mind for her and her children."

"This is the third time we've used Algonquin. The first was as my step-dad was dying and wanted to be at home. The second was after my mother-in-law who lives alone had her hip replaced. This time my mother-in-law had fallen due to age and arthritis and was severely bruised, cut and generally weakened. The aides helped with transferring, showering, toileting, dressing, cooking and companionship during the recovery. They were able to provide the help we needed within hours."
