Saint Louis Flooring Installers Reviews
We had him restore the floors in our 1897 house. The
floors were in really bad
shape, but were quarter-sawn white oak and we wanted to
that he has some wood from the same time period that was
that would be great for replacement matches for repairs.
We were excited that
keep the floor as original as possible. During the bid
process we went around
and identified areas
that would need some substantial repair (under two
radiators, a cutout for a
servant buzzer and some wood near the front door that was
patched with wood
that did not match).
Well of course as you get into any project with an old
house, problems start
to arise. We had
some really bad spots under a radiator near the kitchen that
would have to be totally replaced. I asked if he could pull that radiator and
was told that "he didn't do that type of
work". Then we had two areas on
floor on the
jacked back up in order to
get the proper molding coverage. I asked
was told that he did not do that type of work. Luckily, I'm a fairly handy
guy so I was able to tackle the projects on the
weekend. Floors came up no
problem and the radiator was moved out of the way (and

We found some more bad spots around so curved windows in
the front where they
were just a wee to short (the original boards) and
told us we would
probably need to replace them. This added a little extra
to the cost.
Well, finally the floors are all sanded and stained and
we came to a price agreement for the additional wood that was used for repairs.

level where the corners come together - their explanation was that in an older home they can't promise that this would be level. The drywall around the inside of the window was poorly done- really noticeable after we painted it.
A kitchen island was moved during installation of hardwood floors, but reconnection of the electrical outlets was sloppy. Both outlets had wires crammed up in the electrical boxes and improperly secured wire. One outlet had a bare place on the positive (black) wire, and the other outlet was cracked on the ends when reinstalling. A new dining room chandelier was hung with the electrical wires bearing the weight instead of the chain.
They might be OK for hardwood flooring installation, but there were some dings and dents and gaps in the flooring after installation. The gaps in one area were closed, but we overlooked a couple of other areas, and they did not correct the gaps. Some of the dings were patched. The bathroom floor tile was OK, but the grout was not properly worked in, leaving air pockets and fragile areas. When redoing these areas, another color grout was apparently used, because these areas dried darker than other areas, leaving a mottled appearance for the grout. Some grouting ended up on the new upstairs hall carpeting, but fortunately most of it came off. Painting was average, with some less observed areas sloppily painted.
In general, specialized requests were not done well. Two attempts were necessary for the fireplace tile installation, and then I had to
There is photo documentation if anyone wants to see it.
This complex job included hardware floor renovation, (lacing), refinishing, and some carpet installtion.
Final quality was excellent for the entire job.
The company also would correct any issues and requested modifications without hesitation thoughout the project.
You need refinishing, or new flooring of any type, you should use this company!
I finally decided to use my Angie's List membership and searched for hardwood flooring. Based on the reviews and location, I chose
Rich provided the price, then we set an appt. for the measurements. Rich showed up personally. Took all the measurements and explained the process and that afternoon emailed me a bid. I spent more than I originally estimated but that seems to be the
I can't believe I waited so long to get this project started. The hardwood flooring is beautiful! I really appreciate, Rich,
The crew arrived on time and were very professional. They arrived about 8:00 a.m. and worked until 5:30 p.m. They had to come back a few days later to complete the job. All in all, the job went well. We are happy with the new flooring - both in the kitchen and back porch. The pricing was reasonable. The floors are beautiful!! We will hire them again.l
We could not be happier with our new carpet and flooring. I would definitely use them for any future carpeting needs. FYI , they also sell area rugs, and the prices on these are very good as well. I did buy a 4 x 6 beautiful area rug for my dining room last year from
